Don't you worry about Hiashi. Since he won't be Hokage, he will have a lot more free time just to relax and be himself.
Alertness is necessary against genjutsu. Person with reasonable awareness and genjutsu wins against the guy with 1 Alertness 80 Athletics. Also biased toward Leaf.
Not sure which is more God-stat: Alertness/Athletics
Alertness boosts initiative and passive detection of traps/ambushes
Athletics allows dodge (but not parry) of all witnessed forms of physical attack.
A person with 1Alertness and 80 Athletics still probably never gets hit (unless there are undodgeable attacks we haven't run into, which Alertness could help us dodge)

Am still fine with Alertness training - no matter what we want good Alertness, Athletics, Chakra Reserves, and Attack Skill.
Hana specialized in swords, to my knowledge. Now is probably a good time to make arrangements with Jiraiya/Hana/Someone else if there are any non-core skills that we think might be more helpful for the tournament than more taijutsu/water whip/ranged. Anyone have any ideas?
Also, we should make that list of things to talk to/ask Hana about.
So far from my post before I've got:
- Hana can help Hazo accept and feel better about the breakup. (Protagonist mental health is important. Only you can prevent
forest firesyouthsuit incidents.)- She can help us better understand the behind the scenes political situation to whatever degree she's privy to. Reactions to our domination of the most recent exam will probably be interesting. She can also keep an ear out for anyone who might be willing to break the rules to get revenge of a permanent nature on us, and suggest people to watch out for in that respect.
- Training stuff! There've got to be some interesting uses of the Iron Nerve that we weren't ready for when we left that we're able to make use of now that she can teach. Being a Jonin she probably also knows a variety of other stuff. (Do we know what Hana's specialties are?) She could contribute ideas and tutoring to our training for the tournament if we make it in.
- She might be able to help Noburi and Keiko with whatever bits she knows about how their families have been. They might appreciate family news, even second hand.
- We could consider asking whether she has any suggested leads on the Naruto situation. I don't know what the OPSEC situation is with that information, actually. Do the higher ups of Mist know about it already? In any case as an experienced Jonin she probably has her own network contacts that'll be very different from the sources Leaf has access to. We might get lucky and she'll be able to suggest somewhere to look or someone to talk to.
- We could fill her in on some of the safer stories from our adventures.
- We could ask if there's anything else she thinks we should know.
- We should also fill her in on what Leaf is really like, just in case she isn't already aware that Mist is a dystopian hellhole in comparison. I think we'd like to ensure that she winds up in Leaf. (Maybe we should ask Jiraiya about the politics of eventually giving her permanent sanctuary or membership in the clan?)
Good call, wasn't considering genjutsu. And Mari has shown proficiency in genjutsu can no sell a jonin, trivializing dodges.Alertness is necessary against genjutsu. Person with reasonable awareness and genjutsu wins against the guy with 1 Alertness 80 Athletics.
I think that would fall under the Ambush rules, and count as one fragile tag.It sounds like alertness is also necessary for being able to dodge sneaky attacks, because you have to notice them first.
You lack sufficient evidence either way.We had a suspicion that Ren would help stack the odds in our favor by providing us reliable team mates. Did this happen?
We don't know if Ren had anything to do with this, though. What are you talking about? They reliably fell into line when we threatened to hurt them!
Correction: we made the tournament with only having to fight 54 people, rather than 90
Correction: It would be at most 66. Double countingCorrection: we made the tournament with only having to fight 54 people, rather than 90
Im not staying in Mist for Waifu nonsense that is just going to piss Keiko off.
Why wouldnt we be? We cant spend XP as we get it during a training break? Seems odd@eaglejarl @Velorien @OliWhail Regarding training plans, is there any chance we would be allowed to spend the upcoming month's worth of XP before the tournament, since that's a significant number of XP we wouldn't be getting?

FMPOV the entire month is (mostly) skipped over and we don't get to know how much XP we get, if any. So...??Once back in Leaf you will train in the core skills: Alertness, Chakra Reserves, Taijutsu, Water Whip, Ranged Weapons, in whatever order the QMs think is most advantageous. We timeskip all of that and resume at the start of the tournament.

Hmm.... Are there mechanical benefits to having access to senior Leaf trainers? I assume we could potentially grab more supporting Jutsu if we want, which would be excellent, but I don't know what that would look like.
Ideally: Keiko gets trained in a supplemental action jutsu which provides an aspect tag for Weapons attacks? Noburi gets a jutsu which makes his water whip have a higher weapons rating? Hazou gets a stacking earth armor jutsu?
Alternatively, will we just have higher passive XP gains from spending time training with trainers than we would have doing other things?
