The Yakuza currently gets no customers buying drugs because they're firmly under the thumb of the kage and Yagura said no drugs and Ren hasn't changed that view. So even with 'lesser' profit margins, being able to corner the markets mean big profits for them.

Um, do we really want to give advanced warning to the people who would be our main competition in the drug market? If we're trying to maximize the amount of money Granny Karina can get from her drugs, letting the Yakuza snap up advantageous deals and corner the market is kinda counterproductive.

We could sneak an anonymous note to his secretary.

Dear Secretary,
Lizardbreath was totally high today, I recognized the signs. He can get away with abuse, but he can't get away with this! Please report him to the mizukage.

Signed,
The three traitors who actually drugged him A student who is tired of being abused

The precise wording may need to change.

The idea is to literally go to them and offload all of Karina's goods to them the moment it's legalized to get them a start on it rather than having to go around and do risky deals. It might not get us the most money, but it gets us a lot of really safe money, and we can do a little wink-wink nudge-nudge at the Yakuza to get more. We're friends here, after all.

Friends nothing. They were given 80 explosive seals before the event started. I have no idea how much explosive seals cost on the black market, but I am going to assume they are valuable.

Plus, while no one can prove we did this, people will realize that this was something very beneficial for us. And the timing is very convenient. The Yakuza might make some correct assumptions.

-K. would be very upset if the headmaster stays, i.e., if drugs are legalized. So we want a scandal aiming towards re-affirming the no-drugs policy, and headmaster removed. This result is also better, IMO, for J's negotiations as it looks like Mist is falling apart at the seams.

-We ought get ahead of the news with the Yakuza so they think we have inside info as this will raise our standing.

-Our client directly told us, via "long knives", that we need to start selling in Yakuza territory. Either to them, or to their customers. I believe we have adequately prepared for the latter with our gift of explosion tags. We could explore selling to directly to Y.

-We haven't yet asked our client for her plans for tomorrow. We need this info before we go to bed, so we can discuss/plan/object. We have a legitimate need to know given how much more dangerous those marketplaces would be for someone not already connected to the Yakuza.

-Our client may not know any buyers. We could have her commission us to find out.

-Do we want to keep our connection to the Y. secret, and therefore need to arrange an "accidental" and fortuitous meeting with them and our client? This seems like something the local boss is in a position to agree or refuse, without the delay of going up the ladder. Ideally know tonight.

-I think N. needs to bite the bullet and start pretending to respond to the client's physical overtures, in a way that says 'I know we are both using seduction techniques, and I know you are better, but I am competent, thanks to Mari' and able to make our client feel ravishing, if unfortunate that work makes a relationship unavailable. I think Mari would be disappointed that we are still obviously repulsed, and showing it, by what we already know is a henge. At the very least both boys need to start acting completely comfortable around her right away.

In regards to how to out Lizardbreath, do any of the visiting villages stand to benefit from a change in Mist's drug policy?

This is not something we would realistically know on our own, in character. Granny Karina should know though, given it's her trade. Otherwise, a Fate Point or two to have retroactively asked about it during the planning phase, since it seems a sensible enough question that might plausibly be glossed over in narrative?

Our present for the Oyabun should make it much easier to arrange a meeting on short notice, so that makes cooperating with the Yakuza on this more doable.

Our basic, conservative approach would be to inform Jiraiya that we succeeded, and ask if he has any preference or suggestion as to how the scandal should be discovered - we're going with the Yaks if he doesn't care.

Alright, our primary options are:
  1. Leave it to Jiraiya.
  2. Talk to the Yakuza (need to use care in phrasing, talk with team to make sure this isn't gibberingly stupid.)
  3. Anonymous message to mist gov't through any number of methods
  4. Get Asuma to go on a tour to the academy coincidentally.
Did I miss anything?

If putting it in a plan previously (which we did) wasn't enough to get him to do so, I don't see how putting it in a plan again would change anything.

There might be things we could do to influence that. Maybe just imagining Mari giving him a dissapointed look would work? Or mentally framing the issue as "social combat" rather than "flirting".

I'm just saying, if actors can do kiss scenes with people they're not attracted to, then Hazou, with his Deceit 24, can play the role of someone who's attracted to the Granny Karina henge.

What possible reason do Hazō and Noburi have for playing along rather than to keep it professional?

False dichotomy. I want Hazou to reciprocate verbally, but refuse physical advances (which would be crossing the boundary of professionalism).

It gives us a number of advantages:
  • The "Granny Karina" persona feels as though she's partially-successfully seduced one of the ninja, and therefore the proctor behind the mask must grade us highly on Karina's enjoyment of the mission experience.
  • Once Hazou starts reciprocating, Karina will home in on him, lessening the bullshit Noburi has to put up with.
  • Puts the proctor on the back foot with the mind games. No one expects us to flirt with the "designed to be hideous" witch character.

So, things we need from the Yakuza...

1. Help spreading the rumor, so that the Mizugake's hand is forced sooner rather than later.
2. A list of 'authorized clients' they'd like us to sell supplies to, so they can take maximum advantage of this new opportunity.

Alternatively, they can just take all of her goods in exchange for a large lump sum of money, then we can stop wandering around the open where she can get ganked. :p

I'd suggest focusing on 2 and 3 - 1's mostly covered by the message we already sent him, and we probably shouldn't confirm mission success with him until everything's wrapped up (so he can better keep up plausible deniability). 4 seems to be a bit risky, we don't want extra attention on Leaf (as we're the prime suspects there).

Marked for Death:

Intefering in the internal affairs of a foreign polity to get points in an exam? Easy, everyone votes for it.

Figuring out how to deal with the fallout of successfully interfering in the internal affairs of a foreign polity?

Now that's a challenge :p

We've also had some proposals for activities unrelated to the prank. They were awkward to include in the previous vote, but should be fine here. So if we want to meet with other Leaf teams, hunt for enemy clients, take some additional precautions against being attacked, and so forth, now would be a good time, I think.
