Voting is extended until at least 6pm tomorrow. (Saturday, September 23)

It might be later depending on what I'm doing in the evening, but don't count on it.

Meh, this is about at level right? I mean we basically challenged everyone in the swamp to come get us if they were feeling brave.

Also, did we ever check any other seals? I want to know if they are all Cthulhu summoners or not.

Right so immediate anti-mist plan should be to throw out explosives into the area to disperse it. Don't aim them too far down in case they hit an enemy, throw them above where a ninja could possibly be which should still be enough to disperse the mist.

OFC if we want we can throw B-rank explosives and avoid the no-kill rule but that's probably a bad idea.

Has there been a discussion before on what it does happen when two people try to use draining through the mist on the same bank of mist?

EDIT: Maybe we can disperse the mist by using macerators with fine powder to condensate the moisture? As an alternative to explosives.

EDIT(EDIT): Said misterators, meant macerators. Also grammar.

Also holy shit that Wakahisa is a fucking moron he just gave away mist drain. Does he seriously think that Jiraiya would tell everyone about that secret?

Note that you have somewhere between three and thirty seconds before things go seriously sideways. You don't have a lot of time to shout directions, so you'll need to keep it very concise. You may feel free to use any code-worded battle plan that the team has used in the past but it is extremely unlikely that we will retroactively create any others.

@faflec can undoubtedly provide a better list than I can, but here are the ones I know offhand:

White: do not engage, absolutely no damage to the opposition if they engage, do not stop to rescue teammates

Yellow: do not engage, minimal damage if engaged

Green: minimal damage [this one wasn't actually used but I'll give it to you]. Does not specify engage / do not engage; that would be stated separately

Black: prefer lethal force. Does not specify engage / not engage

These may be joined with a target: "Green sword guy!" or "Black Rock team!"

Specific plans:

Shell [Game]: pop clones, swap places, run for it. "Shell Black" would mean run but kill anyone who gets in your way

Snake Bite: <not relevant as it relies on Mari-sensei's genjutsu abilities>

Tsunami: Alpha strike the biggest opponent, then run. Assumes 'Black'

Earthquake Black: Kill everything that moves and isn't on your team, blow anything that isn't moving into splinters. (No, there is no 'Earthquake <any other color>')

Black Flag: Pick the target you think you're best suited for, kill them, then go support the rest of the team.

Callsigns:

Whiskers: Hazō
Spearfisher: Keiko
Collie: Akane
Fish: Noburi

EDIT: Fixed Keiko's callsign.

I believe we have twelve genin; I think we can carry this off. First; we have five Taijutsu specialists, of which two can be pretty much guaranteed to OHKO any ninja we throw them towards; second, we have Noburi capable of severely taxing whoever's throwing up the Mist (how do you feel about counterdrain, buddy?); third, we have the capture specialists who also have another genjutsu type here to help, which should severely cut down on the OUT shenanigans; fourth, we have two excellent payload delivery vehicles in Keiko and Tenten; finally, we have the goddamn Pangolin summoner with us.

Current team list:
Hazou
Noburi
Keiko
Akane
Sakura
Haru
Neji
Tenten
ROCK LEE (I swear, these things just happen)
Shikamaru
Ino
Choji

Broad outlines of a strategy:

Neji and Rock Lee find the highest danger target and eliminate them; if in doubt, they attack the largest group. The direction of greatest threat is automatically assumed to be the front.

Hazou and Akane defend the flanks; we cannot afford them getting to the center of the formation.

Choji defends the rear; if anything needs his attention, we can reassign him.

Tenten is overwatch; she takes attacks of opportunity, preferably towards the front.

Noburi drains all opposition and opposition jutsu; using that, he feeds Keiko, who will be summoning, and summoning lots. With his Combat action, Syrup Trap targets of opportunity.

Haru and Sakura, uh, can do genjutsu or cheer, I guess.

Shikamaru and Ino use their abilities to disrupt coordination and ensure takedowns.

Ok so we have two options. The first is to defend the fort, divide our forces appropriately, and rely on our position, traps, and superior (?) forces to defeat the enemy.

The other option is to retreat. Form up and break out of the fort, OHKO'ing whatever smaller force we'd end up meeting along the way, and then either commit to running (probably bad) or circling around to attack with better numbers and hopefully defeating each squad before reinforcements arrive.

I'm partial to the first because we don't really know what forces we have. That ought to be gleaned from Neji, though...
Infuriate the opponents into attacking?
Already did that, what's the next step?

Really we need to offer these guys a chance to surrender. They are fighting a sealmaster on prepared ground. We have 6 jounin level combatants.

This is actually one of the best case scenarios for us. There is no reason we cannot let them throw themselves on our traps: They're mist teams. Which means they know the trick to the night light seals, which means that they don't have any which means we aren't going to risk cthulhuing if they move onto the traps we set.

The traps which they get penalties to see because of the mist they created.

Preliminary order: Green All Opposition Engage! Fish, feed Spearfisher! Spearfisher, Green Flag summon! Fish, mind!

Oh, very important PSA:

The other characters have agency. They may not follow your plan.

There was a lot of salt thrown back during the fight against Jōtarō because Mari overruled your plan. I'm telling you in advance so that everyone understands and is prepared: you don't have a lot of time to pass on complicated instructions, and people will not necessarily do what you say if they don't agree that it's optimal or if it doesn't fit their personality.
  • Keiko and Noburi will probably follow your suggestions.
  • Akane almost certainly will, and it's fairly likely that the rest of her team will go along with her.
  • There's a pretty good chance that Kiba (the one in the story, not the hivemind member) will not follow your plan, just because of his grudge against you.
  • The others, you aren't so sure about.

Also, I swear by everything that any of you hold sacred: if you vote to diplomance your way out of this or do anything the sole purpose of which is to avoid combat...I will be sad. And grumpy.

Okay, and now I need to get back to work. Important meeting tomorrow. I might be in briefly later on, but I will bid you all a fine night anyway.
