Since nobody caught the reference:

No, while there was a danger that these people might make themselves a target with their generosity, their charity was clever and dangerous in all the ways that the dead priests were not. They said, 'Here, come, the fire is warm, seat yourself here,' and the fire was indeed warm, and before you knew it you were part of the circle, and it was stronger without fighting over it.

@Radvic 's strategy wasn't based on charity per se, but you could sorta see where it dovetail with the spirit, in how we changed the nature of the game to be a cooperative one instead.

He's good at writing plans. I fear the implications of them on the interstellar situation, but oh well.

Congratulations, @Radvic. No matter what happens now, you win.

How does everyone else feel about a new character in Bear?
Thanks!

Cower and weep mortals! They said "no Radvic, you can't declare your world destruction desires and succeed in an environment where you need support from other voters! You've gotta be subtle about it." "Don't go declaring your evil intentions until after you've succeeded, you'll mess yourself up." "Don't explain your masterful plot to the hero, especially not before you've enacted it and you hold no power over them." Well I showed them. I showed them all! Know that you have been outwitted for the last time as your world collapses around you.

I look forward to the chapter.

FWIW I mostly didn't vote to get the hell out of the swamp because I figured we'd be taken to a holding area and didn't expect we'd get to talk to anyone of import within a time period to make a difference, whereas at least while in the swamp we can try.
Yeah, the way I see it, if we do one of the drastic things like forfeit and try to warn the authorities, there's a pretty low chance of success (~10%), and even if successful, unless we do it immediately, we'll still have a cascading sealing failure on our hands (if the event is going to have cascading sealing failures). If we warn the genin about it (like we'll be doing in my plan) then we'll likely reduce the impact of any sealing failures (since previously clueless people will now be aware of the dangers). I think we're likely to save more lives with my plan than with a forfeit plan, and we're definitely in a better place in terms of political power.

I have a feeling that Hazō won't produce the Night Light seals at all based on his characterization.
That'd be unfortunate. In that case, we'll have ~240 fewer points to give out to our helpers, and should probably have gone with the Pangolin Proctor attack to get seals (also reducing the chance of sealing failures for others).

You know, on the plus side, we now know how to make chakra storage units (badly). You know, if Hazou ever has a death wish.

Wouldn't it be more efficient to make a converter that turns energy into chakra if that ends up being possible? Since not much chakra typically goes into an infusion but quite a lot of energy can be extracted from seals. Which I guess would sync well with having chakra storage seals

The Akimichi do that, actually, don't they? They turn fat into chakra, IIRC.

My intuition is that it's more efficient to convert chakra into non-magic energy than the other way around. Justu apparently consume more chakra than seals, but it could be that there's a lot of ambient chakra that seals use.

Things to do:
  • Modify Night Light seal to output chakra by exerting a force instead of light, and allow for continual chakra input
  • Make a seal converting force to chakra
  • Connect up a couple pullies
  • Laugh as we harness infinite mechanical energy and chakra

We need to consider and pursue a specialty of sort, not chase anything that seemed cool.

Or learn to prioritize.

Hazou's current specialty is storage seals (macerators, PMYF) and there are further things along this tech tree that have promise, like Purifier variants and, way down the line, potentially linked storage seals.

The only other 'tech tree' that I want Hazou to go down is printing-press compatible seals. It'd be building the discipline up from scratch, but any accomplishment in that direction is a permanent excess of that seal.
