1) You didn't ask him to tell the team everything, including the Kagome incident.

Kagome will not enjoy us revealing that we told Jiraiya about the Kagome incident. Nor would Keiko since we didn't tell her, though to a lesser degree.

To be fair, neither did Noburi and Akane. Foot-in-mouth disorder is why I would want Noburi or Akane to convey the story. We could ask them before our arrival if this is a good idea.

I mean we have 2 months to establish political and economical connections with leaf before Jiraiya could lose his Hokage hat. We have to optimize everything to put ourselves in the best position in case that happens. Having a chat with Gai does not help. Spending time with Akane's dad does not help. We are on s clock. We can't afford to faf about

In the abstract, we want to cultivate a reputation of being trustworthy, straightforward, and honest, since that is very helpful in diplomatic contexts. For instance, if we make a crazy new invention that people are skeptical about, we benefit from a reputation of honesty to support our statements that we actually do believe in this technology and are not playing some sort of con. Such reputations are also considered positive personality traits and will make people more likely to treat us nicely instead of obstructing us.
Most likely, few people will care about Akane's dad, so being nice to him here is not likely to directly cultivate that reputation. However, there are still two reasons why we should be nice to Akane's dad. First of all is the fact that while it's not likely that people will care about how nice we are to some civilian, some people will and if we're unlucky ignoring Akane's dad will come back to bite us as political enemies dig up dirt on us. The second reason is that it's generally easier to define Hazou's behaviour as a policy than moment by moment. We want Hazou to be considerate, straightforward, and honest to help our diplomatic efforts, and the easiest way to accomplish that is to have Hazou be considerate, straightforward, and honest as a general policy, which includes to people who we wouldn't lose much by being unkind to.

It look like we're merely going through the motion of doing sealing research for the sake of sealing research, which to be fair, something we need to do from time to time.
Instead, I think we should identify the most fruitful area of research, sealing or not.

I really am unsure which area of research is best for us at the moment. There've been a ton of ideas but no consensus unless I missed something, so I just dumped all the seals we could do quickly (since we have notes on them).

I am not saying to explicitly ignore Akane's dad. What I am saying is don't waste update time on it. If we do it of camera that's fine. We need to make sure that every scene of each chapter is giving us actionable information to achieve our goals.

For actual projects, I am of the opinion that we should pursue Purifier variants, but I do know that's not a universal opinion.
I also think that we have a lot of cleaning up to do, so to speak. We've got a lot of small, low-priority things that we've been 'meaning to get to' and even though they're low-priority things individually we shouldn't just let them accumulate forever as we hop from big project to big project.
