A seal-making Seal would be very difficult. You should start with ostriches.

@eaglejarl @Velorien @OliWhail Obligatory request for information in a desperate effort to stir up action plan-related conversation.
Thanks for the reminder. I've brought it up in GM chat again; @Velorien is in bed but @OliWhail should be back to has-good-signal-place in about 3 hours and we can discuss it then.

@eaglejarl @Velorien @OliWhail Could one of you update the character sheets so that we have the +4XP from the last chapter?
Done. Thanks for the reminder.

IIRC we've been trying to do training since we left Konoha, to no avail. :(
In fairness you've been long-distance running for most of each day, then making a Kagome-approved camp, cooking, eating, and falling into bed.

Also, were training plans done last update?
Realistically they should not have been because the update was only one day. Also, the party has been on the move and barely pausing for rest ever since you left on this mission, so there hasn't been a lot of time for practice. However, I'm feeling a modicum of guilt for not updating the totals at the time and sympathy for the fact that you haven't been able to train for a while, so I've applied the 'stealth' parts of the plans. That means Keiko and Noburi now have Stealth of 15, and Punchy McPuncherson has 12. No other training was done -- Hazō did not increase his Roki or Diplomacy.

Are you saying you want to increase the QMs' power and creativity by 50% again?
Well, in fairness, when @OliWhail came onboard it may have increased our P&C by 50% but it only increased our aggregate evil by about 15%, 25% tops.

(but on the plus side, I've got my 11-year-old sister addicted to Naruto)
How did that happen? It sounds like a fun story.
(I've been sleeping even worse than normal over here, so forgive my denseness.)
Do you, by any chance, have known allergies? Or have you just been getting to sleep later than usual, regardless of waketime? If so, it sounds like something I've had to deal with recently. Small possibility of a joint cause?

A question for everybody, only tangentially related to the quest.

The other day, I mentioned to my kids the existence of RPGs, and explained the concept. The kids were excited about it, and want me to start a regular family game with them. Problem is, I don't really have a gaming background, and don't want to get a game that'll be too hard for me to understand as a fledgling GM. Any suggestions for appropriate sets or rulebooks for beginners? Thanks.
Well, the Murderhobos 'R' Us system, by the dear and possibly departed @ShirowShirow, is simple, semi-universal, and very incomplete. I tried my hand at overhauling it, but it's still got some bits that are horribly complicated and thus hard to balance. I could probably do a quick patch job, pull out the rougher submodules, and send you the link if you're interested.
Not sure I'd recommend it, because I haven't actually playtested it yet, but I could.

That offer goes for anyone here, by the way.

Updated training plans to account for having done stealth. Keiko doesn't have one because her plan was just Stealth. I'll figure out something for her, probably.

I've been looking at Pokemon Tabletop Union, which seems fairly straightforward but I haven't been able to get a group together. Savage Worlds has a simple system, and is designed to be fast. Stars Without Number/Spears Of The Dawn is a relatively rules-light OSR, though it tends to be pretty lethal. The Playground and RPG.net also have some suggestions. If you don't mind waiting until about December, I've heard good things about Red Markets too (simple resolution, resource-based, but high lethality).

Unacceptable. We need to clone @Velorien.

(Sorry @eaglejarl but we all know he accounts for ~86.7% of your aggregate evil)

@Vecht Can you take a look at planbot.info; it seems to not be updated.

So, we can get Akane either +3 to her taijutsu rolls (against enemies that have 9 or lower Strength/Stam) or we can get her up to 15 Stealth (accounting for the 4 XP)

Huh. Apparently her links got dropped off my bookmarks list. I'll fix it as soon as I'm home.

I'll work harder!

@eaglejarl did you ever decide if the pangolin claw is attribute capped or not?
We did not. I'll put that on the stack.

I vote Stealth, so we all have equal Stealth levels (30 w/ Skywalkers).
Sounds good. Then we can pour all her XP into Strength and Stam until she can take on three jounin at once :D

e: For reference she'd need 10 Youthful Fist and 25 Strength/Stam for that if she was fighting taijutsu jounin.

Don't forget to add Stealth training :)

Is...is that an actual thing? Like I don't know the numbers, is it actually more efficient to level Strength and Stamina (and her Taijutsu style) than leveling Taijutsu?

Significantly. To get 25 Strength/Stam (for +30 from fighting style at level 10 in it) would require ~940 XP. On top of her 36 in Taijutsu and +9 from chakra boost, this results in 75 (well, -1 for training jutsu) -- enough to beat a single taijutsu jounin (who rolls 60+15 chakra boost) a significant amount of the time in combination with ignoring two injuries.

TLDR: Akane op plz nerf

Oh wow, you're right. To get to level 60 Taijutsu from her current state Akane needs to spend 1728XP, that's insane.

Yeah, holy shit we need to put everything into STR/STA for her.

Edit: Your numbers are wrong but your conclusion is still accurate. Getting 25 STR/STA costs 1120XP, not 940XP.

...Is it bad that I'm only now realizing that a powered up version of this is likely the training jutsu that Gai and Lee use?

Think about it: Both are known for utterly insane workout regiments, implying superninja stamina and strength, while having nigh-unbeatable speed. Likely, their tai style is what Akane has, only even more pronounced, with a healthy dose of TacMov.
...
oh hell that's what the thousand pound weights are for! Bonus TacMov, Stamina, and Strength for heavily reduced stats in all of them while wearing them!

The Lotus techniques is just a little strange why nobody else does it or the Hyuuga do for a truly ridiculous amount of murderizing taijutsu, but that's likely covered by the QMs here.

Yeah there's a reason I mentioned Rocket Boots ninjutsu -- she needs something to help her close with enemies. Tac Move is expensive, too. If she can ignore Tac Move requirements and still close with enemies effectively she will be able to take ridiculous enemies.

I expect that the Pangolin Training Jutsu is a moderate amount better than the weights they use (I'd expect them to get something like a .15 modifier on XP), setting aside ignoring injuries, but her fighting style is likely extremely similar, if not the same.

e: Basically, I expect her to be able to match Lee ~8 months and Mari within 12.

Except TacMove attributes are Wits and Dexterity, not Strength or Stamina.
