Er, wait. What's the point of all the defenses if you can just knock down a wall and get in? *boggles* I guess it really is just like a security blanket for him. A security blanket made of explosions and death.
Since Hazō saw the defenses you would know this:
Much of the defenses were Force Walls. From the outside these are effectively impenetrable, at least quickly. From the inside Kagome can target the seals and knock the Wall down instantly.
what has come to be known in GM chat as "The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny.
I see you weren't joking about that
Nope. Gotta mix some truth in with the trolling or you become predictable. :>
I will note that
@eaglejarl does not lie in this thread. My model of him would believe that lying as a GM is somewhere between being a poor sport and actively detrimental to the notion of a rational quest.
Bingo. Anything I say out of character is true to the best of my knowledge at the time. (Although FSM knows I've been wrong before.) Lying out of character is cheating.
That said, the asshole is more than willing to say very misleading things that are technically true.
You have to treat every post of his in this thread (outside of story posts) as a dickish literal genie. Only the direct statements he's making count.
None of the things he implies or indirectly hints at are sure to be true, in fact, given that he's a huge troll, there's a negative penalty to the probability of any statement that's strongly implied but not directly spelled out.
Problem is, he knows that we know this, so he's going to mix in some truths to fuck with us. I still think there should be slight negative penalty simply because I expect there to be a reasonable proportion of times where he just can't help himself and will troll. Even if the game-theoretically sound strategy is to flip a coin to decide whether he's going to troll or not on any given thing he wants to imply.
You know me so well. :>
Would the firebomb produce hot enough flames to turn sand to glass?
No, I'm pretty sure not. One of our physicists can correct me if I'm wrong, but all you're doing is burning a piece of firewood very quickly. Wood doesn't burn hot enough to melt sand.
White hot iron (flash grenade)
Note that the macerators are not able to chew up anything harder than softwoods like pine. Even oak is too much for them right now.
very curious if you'd be willing to share what would have happened had the dice fallen differently and Jiraiya didn't make it through the mission either, or Sarutobi had lived while Jiraiya died, or Yagura managed to escape?
It would have been a very different story going forward. Sarutobi had little motivation to induct you into Leaf and no incentive to adopt you as a clan. Your future with Leaf would have been pretty much shut down, meaning no more missions or rewards from Jiraiya and no real chance to see Akane or any of the canon characters again.
It seems like all of the Mist jonin were killed, but maybe we could ask Jiraiya for confirmation? Also how many of the chunin accompanying Akatsuki were killed? Did Jiraiya store any of the enemy bodies? Were any of the Mist jonin obviously from the Mori, Wakahisa, or Kurosawa clan?
don't think any Leaf nin used skywalkers
You can ask.
Are we supposed to go back and forth from Fire to other countries.
No. You're expected to do a long loop around the EN and then return to Fire.
Why couldn't he have someone else do it? We're total newbies to this spy network thingies, and we only did undercover work under Mari-sensei, and all our missions went pear shaped.
Seems a little odd to send us on spy information retrieval, but I'm willing to not look too closely because it lets us go do things
"The chapter" said:
He pulled a sheaf of papers out from the stack on the desk. "That's where you lot come in," he said, holding the papers out to Minami. "Hazō, Noburi, Keiko, Kagome—I need you out of the city for a couple weeks so the Council can't use you against me. Out of sight, out of mind sort of thing. I also trust you, which is more than I can say for a lot of people in that room back there.
I care more about speed than secrecy right now.
I need these messages delivered to agents in my network, and I need it done as fast as humanly possible.
Noburi's bloodline allows him to transfer chakra by way of the water in his barrel. Make use of that to increase the team's endurance [Ed: and therefore average speed].
Unless, our chunin commander was lying about not being able to leave Fire country.
When did she say that? She hasn't been sent on any missions outside of Fire, but that's not the same as not being allowed out of Fire. Regardless, Jiraiya is Hokage now and he's telling her to go.
Inuzaka Clan Head is Tsume, not Manaka.
Could you provide a citation on that? Her wiki page lists her as as a special jōnin but says nothing about being head of the clan. We've actually spent a fair amount of time digging around trying to find the clan head's name and I finally gave up and made up an OC. If you can provide a link I'm happy to change it.
This is correct. The storage seal is triggered by Lesser Barrier Formation; if we can get a multi-storing storage seal that releases stored objects one by one we can make a machine gun out of it too.
How exactly does this work? LBF needs to be physically attached to the seal it's going to activate. If you move either of the two seals that make up the LBF then it will fail. If you move the seal that is attached to the LBF then it might still work if it's still properly in contact or it might not.
