Funny you should mention that... :p
"What about Akane?" Hazō finally asked the question that had been foremost in his mind once he'd got the list out of it. "How is she? When can I see her?"

"I can't say I didn't see this coming," Jiraiya gave Hazō an amused look, "so had one of my people check. She's out of the hospital. Once we're done here, you get one visit. Since she's non-clan and a political nobody, you should be in the clear. It's lucky you're not dating someone relevant like that Yamanaka girl, or we'd be having a nightmare right about now.

Our political situation will change dramatically after we are recognized as the adopted son of Jiraiya and the creator of seal towers and Skywalkers.

If Skywalkers alone were enough to negate our previous transgressions and get us Jiraiya to adopt us as a clan, having that kind of fame and our new status should have the clans tripping over each other trying to get us to marry them.

Until the adoption becomes public we will still damage our position if we try to overstep our bounds. After the adoption we will have to go out of our way to find social circles we aren't allowed into.

We still need to talk to Jiraiya about this though. Surprise marriage proposals won't be fun for anyone, especially if Jiraiya accepts on our behalf before we voice our opinion. Jiraiya probably wouldn't make such a drastic decision without our input, but it doesn't cost us anything to make sure.

When I read that passage some weird part of my mind assigned a probability to the idea that J said that in full knowledge that Hazou was flirting with Ino, in the hopes of making it forbidden love in order to egg him on and get a political marriage with the Yamanaka.

My mind also assigned a probability to the idea that J wanted this in order to get notes for his next Icha Icha novel.

I'd hope he'd just say, that, though... with the Yamanaka, who knows.

Hell what does "nightmare" even mean? We are going to be interacting with more of the clan heirs in the future so we really ought to know what it is we should be avoiding.

But we where also forbidden from dating Akane. Clearly we should do both

Maybe we get lucky and Hiashi panics after the Yamanaka and Uchiha Clan have made their proposals (obviously they are going to do that) and he throws Hinata our way for maximum polyamory shenanigans. I doubt Akane can say no to her face eyes.

Plan Fragment:

Talk to Jiraiya and Mari-sensei, everyone if necessary about clan policy for marriage.

  • Kurosawa's greatest loss and mistake was that they expelled Hazō's mother.
    • Failure to make amend meant that they lost a prodigy. Leaf's gain, Mist's loss.
    • Some of the most powerful S-rank ninja are not from clans, such as Jiraiya and Orochimaru, Namikaze Minato, Naruto, etc.
  • Remind Jiraiya that the Kurosawa are an offshoot of the Uchiha, likely through "forbidden love."
    • While the sharingan is undoubtly powerful, the Kurosawa bloodline is useful in ways that the shenanigan is not.
  • Policy proposal is to accompany an individual's desire as much as possible.
  • If an individual choose otherwise, such as marrying a clanless ninja or civilian, do not disown them.

I think we should also apologize for Mari for not talking to her again sooner after our past private conversation with her and let her know that Hazou never held her actions against her once he thought about it.

"Did you follow all that?"

"No."

"Yes."

Minami gave Hazō a sympathetic wink.
Aw c'mon... I know that it's definitionally impossible for you to write Hazou OOC, but Hazou's better than that. I mean, he's got a whole bloodline that gives him perfect kinesthetic memory, his mom's clan has a very similar communication system, he co-invented the Clear Comminication no Jutsu, and his actual cognitive and social stats are higher than Keiko's except in Presence and Resolve. :p

Point of fact: Attributes mean nothing for the character aside from what skills they can improve. And Iron Nerve doesn't allow him to copy others' movements in general, though it will make it very fast for him to learn with practice, which he hadn't had.

The last time I tried to ignore the shipping we did shipping. I do not want this to happen again, therefore I must sacrifice my eyes.
True. Someone has to remind people that shipping is what put us in a killbox afterall.

*reminds people that shipping put us in a killbox*

Maybe that'll stop it for a couple updates?

IN seems to include some ability to mimic movements more accurately, as evidenced in the "first IN users" interlude where the two kids copy their mother's expert-level taijutsu kata flawlessly after only seeing it once.
