Congratulations on making the bold choice, everyone.

We are so dead it's not even funny. :(

Hazou had dreams. Dreams about retiring to a nice tropical island somewhere south of Mist with his harem of 32 kunoichi maidens. Now his fate is to end up in 32 pieces on the floor of some damp torture chamber somewhere in the countryside of Iron.

Rest in peace Hazou, you were too youthful for this world.

PS: At least it will be entertaining to see Inoue's reaction to this particular flavor of madness we have cooked up. Can't wait for the update.

There are some very interesting critical tables associated with several role-playing games that I can link to the thread. You know the ones that have the disemboweled or removed spine as part of the minor effects of critical failures.

On the other hand our allies and enemies could probably do the same, though since they'd need to roll only one die to have this effect it won't be as big a deal.

Hey, at least we're not actually advocating that we kill ourselves. This is a risk to get something we oh-so-desperately want.

Wow. I totally forgot about that.
Okay, maybe current vote is not the most suicidal so far.

I totally understand the appeal of getting ourselves the sealmaster. It's just that I think we are doing too risky things in a deathworld, is all.

I acually suspect that we will be eaten by local fauna before the contact with Black Hunter.
And, if we get lucky with fauna, we will be killed and eaten by the Black Hunter (in that order, if we are lucky)
And if we are super lucky, we will convince the Black Hunter to join us, only to find out they are Orochimaru searching for test subjects.

Anyway, I am really interested in an upcoming update. I am curious about the exact way of our gruesome demise.

If we die, you have full rights to rub it in my face.

Oh god, I'd forgotten about that.

No, no, this wasn't my suicidal vote suggestion, this was my omnicidal vote suggestion. We'll successfully make contact with the sealmaster and accidentally the whole world with our experiments in seal-crafting. I wrote a snippet and everything. I mean, I'm glad you guys are taking my advice to heart, and keep plunging Hazou into the void, but it's much better if we keep the outcome we're aiming for in mind, and not get them mixed up.

(Geez, if I ever do get around to writing the Naruto fic I have fermenting in my brain, it's going to end up pretty bleak, what with my penchant for negative outcomes.)

I wonder if this is how it will go with every character we control: we level it up until we get careless.

Sooo, anyone wanna discuss Mori's future development? I mean, I'm kinda set on Noburi being our designated medic / gatorade provider / charmer. Mori, on the other hand, I don't really know. If she applies Monomaniacal, she can rocket past us in Sealcraft so easily it isn't being funny, because it will be our attributes that will be, by far, the single biggest limiter to our skill levels when we get higher up. Her (Intelligence * 1) restrictor becomes (Intelligence * 3) with Monomanical, and that is such an absurd advantage that we absolutely have to take advantage of this. Considering the only other skill that Mono could apply to is Medical Knowledge, Sealcraft is an obvious choice.

Of course, we could apply Mono to Medical Knowledge, start bringing Control up, and level Medical Ninjutsu. I don't know for sure how those two skills will interact, but both of them could turn her into a fierce medic.

If BH is a sealer, and willing to teach us, having both of us (Protagonist and Mori) learn may not be a bad idea. She can push to high levels, and we can help her, and bulk copy.

Well, looks like you got lucky. Rolled a 99 on the D100 for rush buying Diplomacy, so we decided to give you 2 points in it instead of 1.

We haven't even met BH yet, but we're already reaping the benefits. I foresee only good* things can come from this venture!

*dying and starting over with a proper ninja village counts as a good thing.

Give it a try, I started mine on a wave of warm fuzzies from writing omake, and it's turned out okay. Didn't actually know how to write conversations for the first ten updates or so, but no-one seems to have noticed so no problem.

Want to know the best part? We've just established a precedent for critical success. And where there can be critical success...

When the update comes out later today, I would like to emphasize that I rolled everything fairly. There was no fudging, the results you see really are what came up on the dice. I mention this only because it's going to look like I saw Velorien's post and went "ooh, shiny!"

Seriously, no joke: I didn't muck with the dice.

On the off chance we wind up building a new character soon, I suggest we don't give ourselves a bloodline. We're not responsible enough for one.
