Alright, last ditch effort that probably won't work, what happens if there's a strong thread consensus to combine both plans, especially from people who voted for the youthsuit one? That seems to be one of the intents of the original idea (to persuade Oli to add it), and literally everything else pointed to Oli's plan being the distillation of what the thread was planning, and it absolutely would've won if people hadn't jumped onto a meme at the last minute and not used the [JK] tag. I've learned a lesson about voter apathy today, but I will a bit legitimately upset if Hazou pisses away all of his characterization, brings absolutely nothing to team planning, weirds out / annoys our minders, and generally turns what was supposed to be a "chill with canon cast and explore Konoha chapter" turns into "hey look Hazou is having a mental breakdown".

So, can I see if there's support for this?

ARGH. This is so fucking disrespectful to the time @Dictator4Hire and @OliWhail put into their plans! Did you know I'd actually forgotten what it was like to be angry? I don't get angry often! Frustrated, irritated, prickly, yes, but the last time I got legitimately angry was like two years ago.

I appreciate you being partially angry on my account, but I also voted for Youthfulness. Keep in mind that we do this for fun and to have a good time. If that means Hazou has to focus solely on buying a green spandex suit, so be it.

Enjoy the ride mate; on the bright side we get to see what happens when we vote for tiny plans. It will be a learning experience if not downright amusing.

Your vote doesn't count unless it's in its own post. Delete the edit and type in your vote in a new thing.

I don't actually think Hazou would have a mental breakdown. Just that he'd be planning like he normally does, realize he could buy a YOUTHSUIT, and promptly drop everything until he's bought the shiny.

Because while a stupid thing happened, calling for murder is an overkill.

On the contrary, a stupid thing happening is exactly the reason we call for murder. Your scale of "stupid thing" is just... different from ours, you see.

No worries, votes will be counted as long as (a) the '[x]' is the first (non-whitespace) thing on the line and (b) it isn't inside a quote tag.

Were you thinking about the request to not retcon votes? That's only so that the linking doesn't get messed up. CounterBot assumes that the first mention of a plan is where the plan was defined, so if someone edits (e.g.) post #10 to point to a plan that was proposed in post #20 then I have to go hunting for the actual plan definition.

It's not that hard to believe once you look and see that real life fully matches the events in this thread.

Also note: We need to figure out a way to keep this from happening again, ESPECIALLY at a time where the vote will matter MUCH more than it does right now (i.e., right before a fight). I'd suggest pushing people to vote more, but real-life voter apathy and bandwagoning suggests to me this is not going to work. Making dupes is against the rules.

Perhaps we should ask the GMs to not count plans that haven't had any discussion whatsoever? I mean, the whole point of the thread is for the hivemind to come together in discussion and produce the best possible plan for the situation...

Sounds workable.

There are other possible solutions, too, though. Imposing a word minimum, or only counting plans in a standard format with "Goals", "Methods", and "Contingencies" sections, for instance.

I would not put it past people to put meme plans that follow the format.

I think in this case a lot of voters were expecting the youthsuit plan to get folded into another plan. So maybe in the future they should be explicitly marked as such?
