whether he believes in Jashin in any way that would be recognised as belief by someone like Yuno (or most of the rest of the world, which will have a lot of relevance when someone with Deceit 60 asks if he believes in Jashin).
IRL religion is really bogging down this conversation. Do you mean believes in as in believes that Jashin is a real entity that does real things and is on Hazou's side? Hazou does, in my opinion.

Do you mean believes in as in "worships and puts the deity's wants before his own?" Hazou certainly does not.

But Jashinism doesn't seem to require the second thing or even really desire it. Conviction is the greatest virtue after all. Having the conviction to believe God is on your side, instead of the converse, seems to be something they would be strongly in favor of.

The issue in the context of the plan/update is that people disagree how honest Hazō was with Yuno. A poll in which we get half a dozen simultaneously very exact and very vague options like this will not help us establish whether he believes in Jashin in any way that would be recognised as belief by someone like Yuno (or most of the rest of the world, which will have a lot of relevance when someone with Deceit 60 asks if he believes in Jashin).
Vote along if you agree.

[X] [Jashin] Jashin is a real and powerful entity that has legitimately chosen us to carry out Uplift. We're going along for the ride because we intend to Uplift anyways, and Jashin is more than welcome to support that.

    • We're willing to trade Goo Bombs with you. What's the Yamanaka Clan offering?
      • Yamanaka promise not to reverse engineer them.
      • One Year Duration (revisit deal afterwards)
      • Supply is for genin-use only,
        • Each get three seals
        • Resupplied upon returning from missions
      • We're willing to trade in cash (would help explain our wealth, disguise ES) but we don't need it.
      • Hazou-the-sealmaster's time is valuable, but this commission is pro-Uplift, Youthful (Akane would approve), and from an allied Clan. Accordingly, Hazou-the-Clan-Head can trade fairly and in good faith, with a mild pro-social discount.
      • Let Hazou-pilot and Ino take it from there.

      • Would he be interested in partnering with us to ensure it's processed correctly?
        • We lack his years of knowledge and relationships within Leaf's metalworking community.
      • Deflect questions about source by moving on to the next point.
      • Commission two new spears from him, for Yuuma.

            • Pilot (using blackboxed Sealing knowledge): Consider infusing without withdrawing chakra from ink-analogue (Use SC)
          • If Hazou pushes chakra into regular granite, does the chakra radiate outwards in all directions?
            • Use smoothened, densified, purified stone, surrounded/insulated by regular granite. Chakra flows through the stone, and is blocked/channeled by granite
          • Begin infusion from point such that the chakra must flow in a single direction.

A couple things, can we specify continuing to MS8? And I strongly feel that finishing RBs before doing RRBs is worth the additional time (~2 weeks)

Each RRB cycle will probably take max prep (11 days) so a single cycle so saved would be pretty much worth it. I estimate that we'd save at least two cycles from the complexity reduction by doing RBs first. (Source: my ass, but I won my 3rd grade estimation championship so that's gotta be worth something)

Additionally I think that doing RBs first would let us make a *better* version of RRBs, and since they're going to be our primary enhancement seal for at least a couple years. I think it's worth the time to do a good job.

Not entirely happy with this, but it's the closest to my position that I've seen. Will provide constructive criticism later

Would the QMs allow this?
Yeah, sounds like a great application of Calligraphy to certain types of social interactions. I wouldn't require a stunt.

This was from a PONWOG, so I'm positive it'll work out.

Sure to the former, but for the latter, I thought we were looking to unstagnate? Skipping RB makes RRB harder, thus more likely to unstagnate us.
Current Megaproject is RRB for unstagnation, other slot is filled by MS7, which we need for Necromancy.

Well, then the poll should be about that. Hazō explicitly said that he is modeling Jashin more like an ally and that he was (and is?) an Uplifter before being a Jashinist. Voting for the first option would make that a lie, no?

But the second option would mean that we aren't willing to trade and compromise with Jashin. Which is not true for my model of Hazō, nor what I currently support OOC.

Also, what does "believe in Jashin" mean here? Does it count as belief if Hazō thinks that Jashin is very likely to be a) real, b) able to be communicated with, c) potentially useful to Hazō, d) potentially beneficial to humanity (at least currently), e) might have moral worth and values worth taking under consideration? But also that points c to e are up for debate and need further fact finding to confirm?

Accordingly with the plan, the update has been extended to 2 days, and Hazō performed some sealing research off-screen on the second day.

I know I only snow into the thread occasionally due to not having enough time and energy and often seem more complainy than constructive, but this time I honestly think that things are rapidly spinning out of control and that bad bad things are very likely to happen if we the players don't get our collective act together.

We can't keep acting like everything is business as usual, voting for multi-day time skips while our very family is under imminent threat, all the while pushing off A-day plans and decisions for some nebulous later date.

Here's what I currently see as a serious possibility with a decent to high likelihood:
  • Yuno either already talked to her husband about Jashinism or will do so tonight (depending on how above time skip worked out)
  • Yuno quotes Hazō
  • Noburi is horrified like never before and unable to hide it from his wife. He's also unable to reconcile with her.
  • Yuno is heartbroken. She does any of the following:
    • Go missing
    • Mass murder
    • Domestic murder-suicide
  • Noburi is very resentful of Hazō because Hazō carries a large amount of fault for Hidan being in Leaf and also handled the fallout miserably while subsequently retreating to the sealing lab and/or focusing on other issues. If Noburi survives that is.
  • The Gokētsu, still reeling from the reputation hit that Hidan inflicted upon us, gets a much much larger reputation hit that synergizes with the previous one to our detriment.
  • We the players concentrate on dealing with the fallout. We are woefully ill prepared for A-day and half-ass a last minute plan that screws over Ami (or forces her to screw over us for her own survival) and plain doesn't work. That is if we don't just lose the race against Sasori outright. Akatsuki wins, we lose so hard that we are a broken Clan even in the hypothetical world where Akatsuki actually creates some form of mostly utopia.
I don't have the perfect answer. Yuno might already have talked to Noburi. But I have some proposals for right now:
  • Try to convince eaglejarl to write an interlude because we simply aren't smart and organized enough to solve this in a day or two.
  • Make plans that bridge less time until the specific crisis is dealt with. We can't just have a single conversation a day, fail miserably at attaining our goals, go sealing or experimenting with EM for two more days as if nothing happened and have another single conversation that hopefully goes better.
  • Once the specific crisis is dealt with and we decide what to do about A-day, skip time in larger badges to make up for the previous short IC time chapters.
  • Be fully open and honest about this whole Jashin thing and Yuno's involvement with at least someone in our family as soon as freaking possible. Hazō is not the right person to solve it alone. I suggest Mari or Snowflake or both.
  • After having touched ground with less involved family, actually just talk to Noburi. It's his wife and our last attempt to make things better probably just made things worse. Regardless of Jashin's true will, Gokētsu is not the Clan of indiscriminate mass human sacrifice, nor should it ever be. And yet Yuno is family. And she is most likely right about nothing ever previously having resonated with her the way Jashinism did.

Sure to the former, but for the latter, I thought we were looking to unstagnate? Skipping RB makes RRB harder, thus more likely to unstagnate us.
I think that there is sufficient space in the RRB seal that it will count even with RB veterancy.

Like it could just be +SM AB with 3 uses

Or it could be +2xSM AB with 10 uses

We obviously want something more like the second one.

I trust Hazou can figure out a sufficiently challenging version that he can unstagnate even with the advantage of knowing RB.

Plus already have 1/3 of RB finished and it seems like such a waste not to continue.

@RandomOTP Given the following facts, can I have your current opinion on the Yuno/Jashinism issue?
  • Yuno told us that she would talk to (and try to convert) Noburi "tonight".
  • Your plan has us engage Noburi while making no mention of Jashin or Yuno or any conversation we might have had with her.
  • Your plan includes a "mild" timeskip, presumably of one whole day or more.

I really really dislike the amount of unpredictability we have, with regard to how this would play out.
If this is the only thing preventing you from voting, would the following change sway you into voting for either version of my action plan?

"As per Asuma, Hazou publicly declares he's not a Jashinist, and asks Mari how to recoup his reputation."

I have no spoons to think about this, but if the playerbase comes up with a consensus, I'll implement it at the top of both action plans.

Likely too many scenes. Would pare this down quite a bit.

If this is the only thing preventing you from voting, would the following change sway you into voting for either version of my action plan?

"As per Asuma, Hazou publicly declares he's not a Jashinist, and asks Mari how to recoup his reputation."
It's not the only thing preventing me from voting, no. The scene with the blacksmith and the scene with Ino both seem quite boring to me.

Also, 'asks Mari how to recoup his reputation' sounds like a scene, possibly a lengthy one, and you don't have room for that.

I have no spoons to think about this, but if the playerbase comes up with a consensus, I'll implement it at the top of both action plans.
The right course of action, if we collectively have no spoons for it and we aren't getting an interlude that doesn't advance the timeline instead, is not to ignore the issue and continue a couple of days into the future like nothing happened. The right course of action is for Hazō to notice that, as a reflection of us, he has no spoons to solve this issue and to go and ask for help from his family.
Even something along the lines of "tell Mari about Yuno and how we might have screwed up and ask her to please help" is miles better than sticking our head into the sand. This of course would be at least one scene of its own. Also the results seem relevant enough for even a 'mild' timeskip to not be appropriate IMO. Do you disagree?
