NB: Need to figure out what Hazou does.
  • We should keep in mind the other dangers in the cave which may require use of chakra/jutsu.
Tbh, after summoning a jonin personally I think he should blow open the wall immediately with directional explosives and have Kei destroy the crystal on her next turn

Interested in hearing what other voters think

I think that there are good-to-decent odds that we show back up after ~24 hours and it's just...quiet.

If this is the case, sure, blow up the wall, but then let's just leave. We have no idea what it would do, and for all we know this is one of seven hearts and we'll just annoy it - a lot - by exploding it, calling down hell.

If it's coming for us hardcore then I'm in favour of trying to attack the crystal, if for no other reason than that it'll move to the defensive.

Oh, right, that.
I...doesn't Hazou see Kei as a sister? Now, i know that Kei is not Snowflake, but... And here i thought the rom-com drama was going to be overshadowed by escalating punching. I see now that punching is not the only thing that is escalating.
He's admired her appearance before, and has instinctively reached out to touch her a few times (before catching himself because he knows that Kei isn't comfortable with physical touch).

In my mind, a good summation of Hazou's thoughts regarding a relationship with Kei is the chapter wherein Snowflake asks Hazou what he thinks of her appearance. Hazou does not normally allow himself to look at Kei in that way, because she has repeatedly expressed how uncomfortable it makes her (albeit, she told Noburi that, not Hazou. IIRC, with Hazou it was always framed with humor).

So in that chapter, we see Hazou look at Snowflake (who is Kei's physical twin) without that habitual/forced blinder, and we see that he finds Snowflake "surprisingly cute."

"Surprising," because Hazou has never allowed himself to (consciously) look at Kei in that sort of way. So the (conscious) realization that he finds Snowflake (who could be Kei's twin) to be aesthetically appealing is a surprising one.

(I've made larger and better effortposts before, if you can find them. Otherwise occupied right now.)

@eaglejarl @Velorien @OliWhail @Paperclipped What are the rules for reverse-summoning next to, say, an enemy? Does the Summoner or the enemy take any penalties to combat? What about any Summons that accompanied us?
The summoner takes a -7 penalty to all stats until the start of their next combat turn. This is mitigated only if the Summoner knows exactly where (direction, distance) enemies are.

Summons take the same penalty when reverse summoning from the Human Path to the Seventh Path. You cannot unsummon yourself from the Seventh Path and bring a summon along.

Full track becomes a Minor with his 1 stress. Intimidating fight. Feels like being chased by the Terminator. Nyaa.
Zinnia didn't have enough chakra for FA here, I assume casting FA was just really easy that time. Barely any chakra compared to the usual.
It's unclear whether ES breaking causes Mental or Physical Stress. But assuming it causes Physical Stress, Hazou should have taken a Mild Consequence here.
+2 XP for the honesty, much appreciated. Hazou has retroactively taken a Mild Consequence (and gained a Fate Point), and Zinnia cast Pantokrator's Hammer instead of Flame Aura.

Cool, and thank you. What rules would there be if we were to appear in front of an unsuspecting enemy: would the first round be treated mechanically like an ambush?

How did Kei bring Panda along with her after being accepted by Pantsa, then?

Shipping is the result of a sealing failure.
Kagome is on (second-hand) record as believing that romance is a form of undefined behaviour, and is to be treated accordingly.

If you know exactly what to expect when you appear (i.e. the terrain, the enemy's location, and any special circumstances at the QM's discretion), it's an ambush. If not, then the time it takes you to orient yourself is also the time it takes them to react to your appearance.

She summoned him immediately, and it wasn't reflected in the update text.

Unless he got a Toad to Dog, Noburi probably can't reach Hazou. It's possible with Kei, but then we leave her without direction since Hazou doesn't have access.
Last you heard, Noburi was still talking the issue over with Gamabunta, but things seemed to be going well.

@Velorien @eaglejarl may I request an update on the Beautification Project? "PONWOG" or "Added to QUINOA" is fine

In the interest of lowering spoon cost, some suggested answers include...
  • Gaku is in the process of creating a list of sculptors, painters, and architects.
  • Gaku has a list of sculptors, painters, and architects, waiting to be vetted by Mari, which will then need to be approved by Hazou.
  • Gaku has a list of sculptors, painters, and architects, which has been vetted by Mari, and now needs to be approved by Hazou.
  • Mari has vetted Gaku's list, Hazou has approved the remaining names, and the hired sculptors, painters, and architects have begun planning their various works.

KEI: Sage, we barely made it out of there! Akane and Yuno are on their own...
HAZOU: Mmm. Hey, do you think Gaku arranged for that new furniture yet?
KEI: Hazou, don't be ridiculous!

KEI: Of course he has

We should definitely do this. I support this

Is that last week or last month? Is it possible we could have a surprise visit from Nobs on the Seventh Path?

Gaku deputized creating a preliminary list of sculptors, painters, and architects, but due to the demands of various post-wartime duties, he has not yet had the chance to look at it. Noburi, likewise, has not done anything to progress the project.

This was a couple of weeks ago. Regardless, if you get a surprise visit from Noburi on the Seventh Path, this would mean that he abandoned his regent duties in favour of a long journey across the Seventh Path, and been lying to you about his activities ever since.

Could his Summon not travel without him? The reason Hazou accompanied the Dogs to Arachnid was as a guard. But some regular Toads could escort Nobs's summon just fine.

Gamabunta wouldn't see what's in it for him, according to Noburi. He might be prepared to find a toad who deserves a long, arduous, dangerous journey followed by being trapped in an alien land (and yet is still trustworthy enough to be allowed to represent the clan abroad), but he has no reason to sacrifice a bunch of ordinary toad warriors alongside them when Noburi, whom Gamabunta is doing a favour with all this, can do the job himself.

does he not want to assign them because of military necessity? or just because he doesn't have a reason to pressure his warriors too?
if the latter we could pay the warriors as well
