the feeling i got from chapters is that hazou and kei is too busy
got a weaker feeling of that with noburi and mari
how much does ACE speed up FOOM?
edit: do the pyramid rules adjust that consideration?

Hazo has something like 70 hours in a day, Kei is around 80. Noburi is still at a regular 24 hours. Mari is possibly much higher than even Akane at 84. Her Resolve skill level is unknown.the feeling i got from chapters is that hazou and kei is too busy

What would an 80 cap build look like? Having a hard time picturing. Resolve cap. Sealing and Alertness second row. Taijutsu, Althetics and ??? third row starts breaking down.
Genius if it works. Chakra drain makes me cautiously optimistic. Would be useful to have a general direction to explore anyways.Send Mari on a mission to acquire a Blood tracker from Hot Spring. Track blood on Jiraiya's clothes to find him in Naraka.
Seriously though, getting in contact with [the Black Hunter] seems annoyingly hard.
Is Father's day even a thing here?Just realized Naruto will be getting this news about his dad on Father's day... and neither Hazou nor Asuma's fathers are around anymore either
Idk, I was talking about IRL though. Just an interesting thematic coincidence
:Mari_Smug:EDIT: let's create fathers day and put it on Jiraiya's birthday
which will hopefully encourage more missions and dynamic gameplay as you search for S-rank tricks (which is now appropriately difficult to reach on stats alone).
Very alive, it just means that you'll need to get awesome jutsu and stunts more than raw stats.
All S-rankers are by definition exceptions, and are created bespoke every time. The pyramid rules cover the typical use cases (genin-jounin) best. S-rankers get special jutsu, stunts, etc.
- S-rankers are defined more by their unique, game-winning abilities than by their raw stats alone. Many S-rankers have jounin stat lines.
Hook to investigate the poems established."Yeah, but, sensei...doesn't it sound like seal stuff to you? Doesn't it sound a lot like 'Arfangle the third chord with violet infusion and slightly more than midsubterranean localization'?"
Syllabary rotation! Rasengan rotates!"Hm...if you take the first character on each of the four middle lines and then you rotate them around the syllabary eighteen steps then you get 'HOAX'."
So it was steganography. Interesting."Sure. We know who wrote these, and why. It's always better to crack the man, not the cipher. In this case we know that Namikaze was a field ninja and a political leader, not a crypto guy. He probably had some knowledge of how to work ciphers but I've already done a quick scan and there's nothing obvious. There's two ways to protect a message: steganography is when you write it in a way that doesn't get noticed, cryptography is when you use a reversible change to turn the message into text that can't be read by anyone except the intended person, who knows how to reverse it. Encrypted messages generally look like gibberish, so it's obvious that it's an encrypted message unless you use steganography to conceal the existence of the message." He gestured at the pages. "These aren't gibberish, so they aren't using a straightforward cipher. There are ways to do that—maybe a given syllable of each word is part of the message and the rest are filler intended to conceal the message as something else. There are other, more complex methods too. But."
Did not consider this. Smart deduction."But non-specialists stink at using complex crypto patterns correctly and they require a lot of attention. This"—he gestured to the lake of papers around them—"feels like stuff that was in process. The marginalia talks about how it was draft work, and that's clear from the places where he misspelled something or left a tea stain or whatever. Could be that's more cover, but it feels more like he was using a method that he could execute quickly while he was working on the seals."
Huh. More encoded information or dead ends?"Remember that poem that you noticed? 'The notes they blend, they bend, they curve back upon themselves with a widdershins turn.' Kinda like the stroke order of that blank, right?"
Huh. "True. And the next line of the poem was within the stain'ed walls that frame the dancer. This brown ring in the middle of the directions, where he 'accidentally' put a teacup down on the page? That sounds like stain'd walls that frame a section of the instructions."
Surprise personal hot tubs. Pleasant. Was unaware they existed. No kunoichi should go without.Akane and Yuno were at the edge of the research space, each basking in her own personal canvas hot tub, watching the two sealmasters at work.
There it is."I was thinking about what you said—crack the man, not the cipher. I noticed that the Fourth really likes this progression format where each line is longer than the one before it. I started thinking maybe there was something to that, so I checked the last word of each line, the first word of each line, stuff like that. Turns out it's first word of the first line, second word of the second line, and so on. Here." He passed over one of the pages.
Liked how it was stretched out into 3 days of effort instead of a eureka moment.Akane and Yuno returned from patrol to find a tired but satisfied pair of sealmasters toasting one another with seal-stored hot chocolates in one hand and warm sake in the other.
Youth-free inner thoughts. Very Kei to project forward accumulation of brain damage + demerits.Hazō thumped himself in the forehead with the heel of his hand twice. Akane found herself smiling at the adorableness of it, and simultaneously hoping that he didn't continue the habit and eventually give himself brain damage. The family had enough challenges stemming from the way Hazō's brain worked now. Granted, they also had lots of opportunities stemming from that adorably excitable brain, but brain damage seemed more likely to increase the challenges than the opportunities.
Could this starchart accounting be incorporated into a seal? Normal to account for everything in the research phase, then standardize every activation so any shinobi could do it. Is there a benefit to downgrading seals to require consulting starcharts to activate at risk of breaking? More activations before degrading because each activation is tuned to specific circumstances rather than generic?"Not going to want to do that here," Kagome said. "We'll want to be very thorough, make sure we've found absolutely everything before we even touch this stuff. I'll want access to some of my materials—starcharts, the calendar henge that I set up at the research facility, that kind of thing."
Going to pull Jiraiya stinker out of the underworld and blow his pants off with the projects Kagome's aced since he has been gone."He named it for me," Kagome-sensei said, wiping angrily at his eyes. "Stupid stinker made a Final Technique and he put my name on it. What does that even mean? That he thinks I'm suicidal? The he'd rather die than work with me?"
Creepy. Physical sensations from year old chakra traces with no explanation of what is receiving them or where they come from are disturbing. The whole time, he kept getting distracted by itches that moved around his body. He could almost hear a ringing in his ears. His bloodline flickered inside him, the pressure that preceded recording a seal washing back and forth like waves. The Iron Nerve was confused; there were clearly traces of chakra here, and they formed something vaguely like a seal, but there was no seal for it to record.
Kurosawas who visited it when it was fresher maybe faced worse. Mission hook? If there is a Nagi-crippled Kurosawa being kept in a basement we could offer to help or take custody. Other lead, hunting for prototypes in Rain.Yeah, I think I'm not going to look into this thing any farther. Whatever was here, it isn't here anymore, but it was powerful enough that even the ambient chakra a year later is enough to mess me up.
100% agree. You need a baseline level of strength to just be able to survive against the amount of force thrown out at high levels. Once you hit that baseline you need an edge to take you over the top. We have a few that are close to that edge. Our crazy strong buff stack, having 4 summoning scrolls, Skywalkers (though they are weaker now compared to when we invented them), multiple armor jutsu and, MARS. If we can add in even one or two more tricks that should take us over the edgeMore like: piramids will not turn you into a s raker alone so you need some special weapon to do it, be senjutsu, bio sealing or even just a special technique that is a battle ending on most cases. Be a S ranker is about having that soecial cool trick because the jounin threshold is when you really hit diminishing returns.
didn't see what happened exactly, but when I finished with Mei I saw that Naruto had just killed Zabuza so I turned to help Sarutobi-sensei,
This had me confused and as Im writing this I realize that I might just not be paranoid enough yet for after my recent return to reading this quest, but this was also edited so I have no idea if I can even take Shneddly's post at face value or if the QM's forgot to give details that the questers needed. Either way it's hard to get a feel for both the thread at the time and the thought process because I don't read the same things they do and Im not gonna read the 6000+ pages needed to get the full context I need.Uh, actually, there's nothing in there about the fate of Zabuza.
CONSTANT VIGILANCE
If you want to read the original Minami Incident, go here.a problem I've noticed when reading this quest's updates for the first time today as opposed to when they were originally written is that you can't read the discussion between the updates at all. I'm currently at what the wiki is calling "the minami incident" and the discussion doesn't reflect the update at all because of all the edits. chapter 128 specifically was updated 2 years after the post first was made and a lot of what seems like important discussion pieces wasn't even in the version of the chapter I got to read. So I can't even understand the process that lead too the chapter turning out the way it did and specific comments made by players that aren't their any longer, until I hopefully see a comment made 2 irl years later in the thread I presume.
Thanks bro, who knew that quoting an entire update would be a good thing someimes

Wow my room is really dusty today, it keeps getting in my eyes and I feel very strange must be coming down with some nasty flu or sommething
Out of curiosity, have you seen the YOUTHSUIT incident? Thanks bro, who knew that quoting an entire update would be a good thing someimes
edit: yiiiiiikes that's really screwed up and I can't even be mad because it makes sense in and out of universe with how the quest was set up, if had been participating at the time I would probably have left the quest and become a salt sheik though.
This quest is special in the best kind of way, I really mean it. Why did I come back when I literally haven't been here since 2017? because I from time to time remembered snippets of chapter 46 for years
this was my comment when I was catching up then
and considering I still remember it enough too easily find it 5-6 years later that's saying something. Maybe I'll stop reading and never return to this quest in 3 hours, I don't know but if that's the case I at least want too thank everyone involved in making this masterpiece from the QM's to the players who want too nuke everything around them. High quality fiction with a great community like this is why questing is my favorite free time activity. Thank you every single one who reads this random post on page 8302 you're awesome
1: Be too strong to killboxYeah, we are bunch of unaware lemmings here but we are learning how not get killboxed.
