I agree with this, possibly i would also add something along the lines of "You'll give it only to those clanmates and no one else" and stress the importance of speed. We cannot waste multiple updates trying to find a good enough Jutsu and Cannai is probably more qualified than us to decide what Akane should have.
 
Things keep going absurdly well on the social front. I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop but in the meantime, I'll take it. Merry Sagemas.

Next update (not this one), I'd like to talk to Noburi, Kei, and Mari about Asuma's directive on only trading Gōketsu jutus with the dogs. It's not entirely clear what we can give that's really ours.

I'd also like to talk to them about Tsunade. Hazō seemed very sure that Tsunade would jump at the chance to teaching the dogs medical Jutsu. She will be able to convince Asuma, provided they can help us find a way to bring it up with her without getting Asuma mad at us.

If we have the ability to trade medical Jutsu, our bargaining power with the dogs goes way up.

EDIT: Also Eagle said in discord that we can use the word "mate" to reasonably describe Akane and Hazō will explain it properly. Let's definitely do that. Saying "my mate was almost killed ereyesterday" will both highlight the urgency and emphasize how much we'd be willing to give up. (Also it opens the door to getting teased about our relationship)

So prep I want to get done for Scroll hunt:
  • Train team on using sky sliders
    • See how EM mastery works with skysliders
  • Recruit short term combat and stealth summons for Hazou and Noburi
  • Have Ami force Wakahisa diplomat to act as chakra pipe with the Kei summoner
  • Finalize team comp
    • My ideal comp, Kei, Hazou, Noburi, Akane and Kagome
      • Kagome because from cloud
      • Akane for EM
      • summoners for broken summon actions

Elementary Mastery Mastery as you put is only going to be useful if Akane stops using the skyslider and choose a location to stay put in order to cast EM to generate a thermal for skysliders to ride on and lift themselves up. Then, we would need to keep circling to gain height.

You also risk EM's true destructive potential being outed. A logical guess would be to keep leveling up EM in order to gain make the justu powerful to create even greater thermal to ride on.

Anyway, your composition is risking the majority of the Goketsu in a single raid/battle. It's literally betting the farm.

Good points, Akane is scrapped from my ideal roster now

Come to think of it, Tsunade will need to adapt medical jutsu to limb arrangements that don't fit normal humans in order to sell them to the dogs. Perhaps such adaptations would also allow ninja with missing fingers to cast them? That could be a better way to make injured ninja, like many of the Gōketsu, more useful to Leaf while also making them more safe than if they keep taking combat missions. And it increases the number of med nin we have, which is always a good thing.

Well, it's not what I was initially excited for, but this was still a lovely update.

Well, I ended up spending most of Christmas Day with family, so didn't see this in time (even if it means Akane won't be getting a gift).

It also seems more likely to me that the Dogs will have readymade jutsu for Yuno, since she is Lightning Element like Kakashi. I suppose we'll need to put this in a later plan then, and probably an EJ plan since it seems like it would have to be a whole conversation.

We can point to our track record with the Pangolin jutsu for evidence -- we've had them for a while and have yet to leak, and these would be controlled even more tightly, I assume.

[ ] Action Plan: Jutsu Trade
  • With Uplift, discuss jutsu trade
    • Are there any jutsu they want in particular?
    • Explain Asuma's stipulations. What's counts as Gōketsu jutsu? Mari's jutsu?
    • The Dogs want medical techniques but Asuma won't trade them. Tsunade would leap at the chance. How can we get her help without pissing Asuma off?
  • With Cannai
    • Sanity check everything with Team Uplift
    • Explain war status and danger to our family. Specifically explain how our mate was nearly killed.
    • Ask if we can start looking for compatible jutsu now so we can make the exchanges as soon as we get authorization
    • If Team Uplift believes there are things we can offer now, do so.
    • Ask what dog jutsu Kakashi used "to great effect." Knowing this could help us convince Asuma regarding authorizations.
    • Explain these jutsu would be Gōketsu exclusive. Also explain concept of clan secrets and the adoption process.
    • Deal completely in good faith.
  • Offscreen, perform regular obligations.
 
That was sweet, and amazing, and I feel very proud of Snowflake for moving into and past her pivot point with flying colors. It made me feel a teeny bit unworthy to think these two things

1) For sure thought she was going to invite Hazo on a date rather than Mari. I will gladly vote for anything up to [] Armageddon Initiative, but invite Snowflake to a suitable vantage to watch the carnage first

2) If Snowflake was an I&S specialist this is one more potential layer of manipulation in her toolbox; this increases Mari's respect for Snowflakes agency and mean that Kei can effectively save face in any situation by sending Snowflake to contact people she declared persona non grata. I suspect Paranoid Mari may have had the same thought

Can we please not actually vote for meme plans?

Just put an "χ" or an "Χ" in instead. The Greek symbols are nearly indistinguishable but won't actually get counted.
