Either Hazou didn't have full reserves (he only said "pretty much full"), or he isn't very good at judging when he's actually empty.

Probably the latter given how winded Hazou was, which is in contrast to how easily he was taking it in the earlier conversation. He probably didn't push himself very hard in the first trial.

19*14 CP = 266 CP

This is more than Hazou's reserves and reveals another confounder -- overfilling. Noburi sloshed out a little extra chakra in the water and Hazou got overfilled. He can overfill without Consequence to 273 CP, so spending 266 CP and still being conscious is pretty doable. Still, this reveals another variable that needs to be controlled.

Uhhh.... I think default time MEW costs 33 chakra, 10x of which is more than Hazou has chakra for. @eaglejarl , was Hazou casting these MEWs with his Standard action? Otherwise, it doesn't make sense for it to be 330 CP.

Though if he were doing the combat-speed version despite what he said, with no elemental source, then it would cost 25 CP per cast. This matches up, 10*25 CP = 250, just under his reserves cap.

No, the constructs are lasting for a half minute, which means they're not the quick-time version. That means that this should cost 9*33 CP = 297 CP. While the Substitution trials made sense, this doesn't at all. @eaglejarl is it correct that in these trials, Hazou was casting with parameters consistent with the non-combat version? That is:
  • Standard action -- not Supplemental, not extended cast
  • Range in Zone -- not Melee
  • 30s duration construct -- not seconds.
  • Always construct -- no chance of permanence
?

      • If repeatedly going to unconsciousness is dangerous, do this over several days.

Can we add some things from Discord? First off to maximize brevity XP let's set the plan length to 10 days. I want to check with Kumokugo on how seal training is going. @_The_Bomb wants Mari training the new Gōketsu in OPSEC, or confirming that they already have the necessary skills and @RandomOTP wants more Snowflake and Hazou. Chakra science, OPSEC, and seal training can probably be offscreened. So we have space for a third scene.

I'd suggest sending Hazou on one of those not-dates Keiko goes on all the time with Snowflake. An Instance of Two Individuals Spending a Day Together in Order to Facilitate Greater Mutual Knowledge and Familiarity, Arranged in Anticipation of a Potential Long-Term Relationship. Maybe they could check out the Leaf Public Library or something since they're a buncha neeerds

Also, you are suggesting way too many scenes if there's more dating and conversing with spider wives. Paper is already at 3 (not sure I agree all these things should be offscreen). Just write a new plan if there's new scenes people want.

That would be a delight. And a cute little throwback to the week they spent combing the Leaf Library, back during the Hag Arc. It was early into Snowflake's existence, and one of my reasons in the initial effortpost of "Why Snowflake May Like Hazou" (an idle headcanon that has since been proven canon).
 
Pretty sure we have a summon who explicitly wants to get away from everything, and thousands of miles away is pretty far from everything. The one that tried to elope, canun or something?

I suggested sending Cantelope and Cantilever cuz they could hang out while on the trip the first time around, but EJ said we asked a bunch of dogs and none were interested so I presumed that would include them

As a (hopefully interesting) tangent, I've always pictured S-Rankers fighting as a more cinematic version of Rock, Paper, Scissors in that it all boils down to whether Person A's bullshit ability counters or trumps Person B's bullshit ability.
 
Incidentally, speaking of bullshit abilities, it's possible Akane could beat Hidan with EM at ~40-45.

If we want to add Snowflake to Hazou's polycule, Snowflake needs to like and be comfortable with Akane and Ino more than anything. We already know Snowflake likes Hazou and Hazou likes Snowflake -- any real chance for a relationship with Snowflake is built on connecting Snowflake to Akane and Ino.

So for anyone that wants Hazou x Snowflake, I think we should have dates or outings introducing Snowflake to Akane and Ino. More Ino than Akane, but both of them together would be best.

This would also make it much easier to eventually add Snowflake to the polycule -- we want a situation where Snowflake is close with Akane and Ino and Akane&Ino are the ones that propose adding Snowflake to the polycule. The reverse situation, where Hazou becomes closer with Snowflake before approaching Akane&Ino about it, is not going to go over very well.
(I repeated Akane and Ino so many times I was tempted to shorthand it to A&I. But that sounds like T&I, and we don't want to introduce Snowflake to T&I.)
 
I thought the threadbase was done with taking ideas from Orochimaru's basement experiments. Why are we talking about sending Cantelope's to the sixth path??????

Haha I'm joking guys. I know the Cantelope you're talking about, dunno if Cannai will agree to cutting it off much less sending it anywhere though.

That is pretty much how it works in canon. It's very rare for a battle to be won or lost on pure skill rolls (although there are rare exceptions like Killer B, who slaughters Sasuke with pure taijutsu before Sasuke gets bailed out by a teammate).

So you're saying Hazō should date Rock Lee to bring him into the polycule, and leave it open to Akane how to respond. This sounds like an optimal solution with no downsides whatsoever.

Would you be willing to add "Try to organize a meeting/communication with the Bear Summoner"? Personally i would like to address Noburi's self-worth before that kaiju hits, but maybe it needs it's own full update.
I would also suggest to add something along the likes of "Be mindful of the communication gap with Lee", otherwise the update could just be Hazou not understanding Rock Lee.

No because I know Hazō is not sexually attracted to Lee an has shown no signs of being romantically attracted to him. Dating people to influence others is also a bad idea

This is not something that need to address since he is about to start FOOMing as soon as he finishes the Akimachi training jutsu. If that doesn't work we need to make sure him getting FOOM number one priority
