My problem with this as it reads too telegraphic. I like the structure though, its very detailed and extensive without coming off like (Insert QM) has to write 10k words to fit it all in (though that could be my read).

Let's just throw all of the Goketsu at the Hyuuga and maybe someone will be lucky enough to marry into the clan.

I mean, Mari happens to be single again for completely unrelated reasons...

mm. I'm not sure where precisely adding more detail or flavor would be useful to this plan, though. I could add more words, but for whatever reason it seems like they don't quite fit?

A thought: Akatsuki is now trying to achieve world peace the hard way, which may very well involve lots of violence since they're now most of the world's S rankers. One way to improve the odds of peace is to assassinate the most hawkish members of a given nation, particularly if the ones doing the assassination are a neutral third party who can't easily be retaliated against. If we just continue advocating for peace and uplift (but especially peace), it's possible that Akatsuki might assassinate Hiashi without us having to lift a finger. Particularly if he seems likely to get Leaf into a war soon.

Did you disagree with my earlier suggestions?

I like how @huhYeahGoodPoint 's stuff handles the grieving and socializing aspects. If you could crib from that in some way that'd be great.

(I don't really agree with 'We can't push Hiashi. Leaf, and the Elemental Nations cannot afford an isolationist turn inwards.', because I think an isolationist turn inwards is probably the right move here, and definitely better than any hawkish ideas that might lead to Leaf entering conflict wiht other villages, but otherwise plan is good)
 
@MadScientist Dunno if you've seen this already, but I'm going to reping you with a copy of my plan, and ask that you look over it and copy over whatever you think is reasonable into yours.

  • Touch base with our allies. Offer our condolences.

  • Read Jiraiya's will. Take stock of what he left us.

  • Debrief the clan on what happened.
    • Get Mari to give us political advice.
      • Double check with Tsunade and the clan first.
      • We need her manipulation skills for the good of the clan, and that if she believes she can't stop manipulating people she can at least manipulate [the bad guys] to keep us alive.
      • Offer to compromise: If she still isn't willing to directly manipulate people, she can at least teach us to do the same. If not, teach us politics/how to avoid manipulation.
      • Keep an eye on her. Order her to fall back if she's starting to get too mentally unwell, to not conceal her mental state from Hazou, and to present her true emotions and thoughts to him at all times when it is sufficiently private for this to be safe, regardless of what consequences this may have for either of them.
    • Speak with Kagome at length.
      • We understand if he's angry with us for sharing his seals with Jiraiya. Offer explanations, not excuses.
      • Get him Jiraiya's seals/the anti-Hyuuga seal if we haven't already.
      • Offer to have his seals declared clan secrets (so Leaf can't steal them).
        • Figure out how to do this.
      • Jiraiya named his ultimate explosion suicide technique after you.

  • Discuss with the clan on continuing the international alliance to hunt down Akatsuki.
    • Reasoning:
      • They're 7 S-rankers involved in an end-of-the-world conspiracy and took out most of the world's ninja forces.
      • They somehow managed to survive thanks to their boss, who told them to pursue peace "the hard way"...which probably involves gratituous violence.
      • This could very well demolish the hidden villages given that they now lack...almost all their elite ninja.
    • If we do this right, we might be able to extend the international peace for years, and possibly warm relations between the hidden villages.
      • Domestically, whoever holds the hat would have significant political points for stalling the next war, and for avenging our fallen ninja.

Right. Who's still in the game and what levers do have to push them with?
  • Sasuke is heading the Uchiha, I think. He's a wildcard, could see us as family, or as bloodline theives. Best shot is getting Naruto on his feet and into the clan and throwing him at our cousin.
  • Shika: have Kei talk to him?
  • Ino: ??? shouldn't be an opponent rn because ISC
  • Akimichi: ISC, but ???, like Ino
  • Sarutobi: No idea, likely not outright enemy, could sicc Tsunade on him if they're friends from when Tsunade was his dad's student?
  • Shino: probably enemy rn after what Kei did in the finals
  • Minami: sided w/ Hiashi, could talk to her and ask her for advice dealing with grief? The bonding could make things better, or worse if she sees it as manipulative
  • Hiashi: opponent, no getting around it
  • Tsunade: needs to assume the Senju seat and back up our candidate, probable ally
  • Inuzuka: opponent, will side w/ Hiashi
Anyone I'm forgetting? Comments to add?
