@MMKII:
Telling Shikamaru to social someone? Please specify Ino directly... especially as, if Hinata sees through it and alerts others, STR collapses.

Lightning cover would work better if we incorporated a ninja wire net/mesh, 'accidentally' introducing the lightning rod to the Elemental Nations.

If MEW works like I think it does (28.5 m^3 per casting) they can get a 90x1x.3 m bridge (that probably shatters under its own weight)

Could bridge with that, but we can blow up the bridge)

I didn't tell him to social, explicitly. He is to "ensure she doesn't show up." paraphrasing.

He's lazy, not stupid.

Also: BTW All, the Lightning Pillars is instantaneous and appears in the particular area at the casters will. I do not believe it falls downward from the sky.

"Covers" as such are just to mess with his aim. I don't think they'll block it.

Also also: I think we are close to limits on time constraints as is. Setting up nets (even if we pre-wove them all night) seems like it would take too long when we have a 4 zone radius of shit to trap/build.

'Setting up' nets? Just hang them over the MEW / stacked logs and fix them with a few nails. We don't need to cover the whole base, just our most important ranged attack stations.
A lightning rod will work regardless of where the pillar comes from.
How about I replace the MEW-ing there with stacked logs and add that we put a few Substitution targets (more logs) near Sniper Nests for quick dodging of the lightning?
Can't dodge lightning. Even if the jutsu has a visual cue, I'm pretty sure lighting attacks will inflict athletics defense mali.

Only if a large portion of the logs are bait.
... The nets would also trap anyone trying to substitute with a stacked log...

@MMKII: I think we should explicitly waterproof seal-based traps. Too many of our enemies use water or mist and are aware of that particular weakness.

Neither of these are true as far as I'm aware. Lightning techniques break armor more easily, yes, but they're as dodgeable as anything else is under the system's rules. In the case of the lightning pillar, there's a brief pause and static before the effect, which gives time to jump out of the way.

And chakra doesn't obey physics, so lightning rods may or may not be relevant.

1) Theres no point in lightning rods if the lightning just spontaneously appears. We can still dodge it though, as noted.
2)I don't think we can waterproof on masse. They don't have the line of sight to be able to do this and it likely wastes a lot of chakra anyway.
3) By the time they're in Substitution range we have bigger problems.
4) I don't think you can substitute with a log tied to other logs.
5) Running out of word count.

I am going to add a contingency to the effect off "Ranged bombardment on anyone trying to circumvent trap field."

I see this as mitigating risk of clever enemy bullshit to try to circumvent the defenses.

I am also adding a bullet to the effect of "Goo trap synergizes well with Air Dome blockade" and changing the MEW covering to lashed logs and branches, after @Adept_Woodwright pointed the former out and @Cariyaga points out the later likely suffices.

Do any of ye object?

Edit:

Also the sites being wonky with my edits so bear with me things might take a while.

Few random ideas divorced from current thread-thought:
Current player mindset is a peculiar one, considering the world they are playing in.
Crapsack, rocket tag kind of world combined with long-played characters causes extreme risk aversion.
This is only partially counteracted with innate curiosity and need for cleverness that drives this audience.

I am curious as to how would this group (and readerbase in general) react to a TPK, or even a single character death.
That includes long term behavior.
I assume TPK would lead to a "What the hell, let's blow this shithole wide open." kind of attitude.
Not so certain on the latter case. Even greater fear? A grief-stricken sort of bravado ("Let's ressurect them or blow up the world trying.")? An odd combination of both?

If there ever is a quest similar to this one (simulationist rocket tag), QMs should try their hardest to kill the characters quickly in the beginning.
Players not only are tied to the characters in a (for some, deeply) emotional level. They also never experienced true (not retconned) character death.
Though I can only imagine those players, I can see a world of difference between them and you.
It would be so much easier to throw new ninja at the world, breaking them both with suicidally risky munchkinry, then laughing at their puppet's misfortunes.
This could very well develop a literal Hivemind meta-plotline. If normal characters don't matter, how about the mastermind(s) behind them?
Hivemind X Orochimaru could very well be a thing.
...
Or, if a Yamanaka (Ino?) got a peek at our... secret chamber. :ogles:
Unless QMs started wielding those characters as mere puppets, bound to their will. Then it would get weird.

Poor QMs of that other world. Alt!EagleJarl would get so much punching, but at the same time he and other QMs would probably try their hardest to keep this world alive for one update longer. So much nerfing would be needed, when players are actually wishing to use the nukes.
Unless they decided to go down another road- a big fat carrot of a promise, a curious secret, a fragile vault you can't just blow up without destroying the reward.
What would it be? A trans-dimensional portal, allowing uplifting (or conquest, really) of the entire multiverse? The fourth wall itself? Something more conventional but still cool enough to not wreck the world just yet?

If I ever fall into a deeply misantrophic mood (general or more directed), I'll be sure to consider those questions more deeply, maybe set an experiment or two (is Armageddon initiative still possible, under current Hazo's autonomy?).
