Why a clone? Can't Hazou directly work on the seal?
We can work on two projects at the same time. One for the War against Rock, and the DRAGON WAR.
If Akane and Yuno are going on the mission for the scroll, the War against Rock is less urgent, but Haru is still in the danger zone, and we should definitely develop seals to increase Haru's survivability.

Sealing is a full time job. If we want to do other things we can't be full dedicated to research without having time skips happen. So a clone solves this problem

Uhm...how does SSA works with Shadow Clones? Because SSA gives us a mild consequence when we infuse a prototype, IIRC.
We let Hazo Prime do it?
The value of the Shadow Clone is the intellectual work being put into it, rather than infusion attempt.

That makes it hard to deploy in the field, but that does not make it a bad proof of concept and initial development material under seal r&d precaution conditions. It's layering likely makes it less suited for 3d seal elements too, but we are not close to those yet.

- It seems odd that Asuma is considering giving away such a powerful artifact to a reluctant ally
- He's even been discussing weaking Sand further with a false flag operation.
- If we can't convince into helping when they are this weak how can we make sure they will stay loyal after we empower them?
- With the losses that they have suffered it would seem to Hazou that they don't deserve to keep the title as one of The Five

Also ask the summoning clans and Earth-ninjutsu creators about information. Dogs for example have a Metal element. Maybe they inherited something that created that structure?
If the Great Seal-rock is 100% artifical magic rock or partially made out of chakra metal, then just hunting for normal geology is not going to cut it.

Anyway:
I am not stopping you from getting "Deep Lore", but I doubt he is going to hint at the super secret conspiracy you're looking for.
Shikamaru will most likely give reasonable answers about the situation:
- Sand is already an ally
- They are weak, making them stronger isn't really a huge problem.
- And even 5 more elite joning can tip the balance in our favor, then we probably match Rock's numbers and either destroy them or make new peace.
- Waterfall information that make them not good allies, like that one time Kakuzu tried to kill Hashirama.
And we can do both? Additionally make actual suggestions about the situation?
Because Goketsu isn't going to get the Scroll, especially not with Hyuuga, Aburama and who knows who helping.
Asking Shikamaru is pretty safe, he has already accepted that Hazou is insane.

Also, they might already have 1-2 scrolls. There still plenty of un accounted scrolls, Tapir, Hawk/Raptor,
Mari didn't know that Grandmaster F is the Mara summoner,but she knew was one, so maybe all Leaf knows is that they have some with a scroll.

"it would seem to Hazou that they don't deserve to keep the title as one of The Five" seems, at best, like it could use some reworking. It feels like Shikamaru is going to either ignore it or immediately call us out/shut us down for asking about forbidden lore. This is my shot at a reframe. I'm trying to play more to Hazo's strengths - asking earnest and reasonably-intelligent questions, as opposed to trying to trick his allies into providing him with information.
I think that the Snowflake section could use some love, too - specifically, we talk about 'previous suggestions'. Which one? It's very vague as it stands right now. Explicit is generally better than implicit in plans.
Same request here with 'previous suggestion' - we have the word count, so we should use it to be explicit.
I also think that it might be worth reframing the resolve training to ask more questions and offer more options.

Strong disagree with this. Hazou almost certainly has higher deceit than shikamaru. So what he choices to evade and how he does it will tell us things. Plus we can use this as an uncap attempt for deceit.
But if you have suggestions for an alternative way to go about it would hear them. Would just be taking the scene in a different direction than plan currently does so a bunch of it would need to be rewritten
Have basically no thoughts or strong opinions on this. So if people have suggestions will probably implement them

I agree with the sentiment that we should not constrain ourselves to thinking that stats are the end all be all to all of our problems. We have a clan's resources to work with and ostensibly Hokage resources to call upon for this project now. Before we commit to increasing our numbers for one specific problem we should exhaust all other possibilities first to optimize our overall resources. XP is too precious to spend willy-nilly but that does not mean we have to postpone exotic projects because of our stats.
We should talk with any Leaf geologists (or local equivalents) that are available to see if we can acquire a variety of rocks to experiment with. Creepily serene earth jutsu lady would be a good starting point and talking to clan heads as well as KEI ninja would not be a bad idea either so long as we follow proper OPSEC. Whatever details Asuma wants us to omit we absolutely have to follow but that should leave us with plenty of room to work with.

The above plan seems to meet this criteria the most. Here's some additions I'd like to see included if time permits:
We should include a line about celebrating her birthday as she sees fit to prevent more drama later on if Hazou snubs her by only focusing on work. I'd much rather have one section in the next update celebrating a birthday than have to spend several updates fixing our relationship with Snowflake because we were insensitive at a sensitive point in her life.
Buying a copy of each should suffice or Gaku might think we're trying to hoard all knowledge on geometry for our own mysterious clan-head purposes. Books on civilian geology would be nice, especially to compare them to any knowledge we might get from other earth jutsu users. Ideally we can find information from some earth jutsu user who experimented with various types of rock to see how different earth jutsu interact with the changing rocks to save us some time, but it's not the end of the world if we have to do it ourselves even at our current earth jutsu levels.

You purchased and downloaded a dozen different seals. We aren't going to design them all but we can come back to it in the future when such is necessary.
