[X] Training Hazō: Shadow clones
[X] Training Akane: Initiating Apotheosis
[x] (Doggo) A tracking dog

Not sure about other two doggos yet.

Also, with Akane getting SC we should start setting up her SC SOP, if only to have it logged somewhere how many clones she can make and how many sessions she does in ideal conditions.
(e: and Keiko)

edit:

I don't think that was what the passage actually conveyed? I think it was more 'Yuno wouldn't be adopted, she'd marry in', but marrying into a clan still takes an adoption ticket because Yuno would become a Goketsu and get a piece of the clan ninja pie.

If it means we don't need to use the slot, then great, but I don't think that was what Noburi said.

Oh, that wasn't how I read it, since we were asking about whether we should use the slot on her or not. Can we get a clarification QMs?

I don't think we should waste a slot asking for a tracking dog. Canoe is a scout so she will probably be able to fill out that role

Possibly preventing war between the Pangolins and the Dogs is worth an introduction from the Dog Boss. No other potential dog summon could be that effective especially since there is a limited amount of time before diplomacy between the Pangolins and Dogs becomes functionally impossible.

This is the most Uplift thing we could do with one of our dog summons: improving the lives of 7th path citizens by hopefully not having them fight in a pointless war between our allies.

guys we should retest 7path chakra water with a waterskin or mug. the cups should have counted as a normal container instead of uncontained water but you never know

According to rules chakra stored in a normal container with wakahisa absent should last for a few hours.

[X] Shadow Clone SOP: Keiko Default
  • Daily:
    • 2 blocks of XP training
Current resolve: 20
Current internal chakra: 270
Status of chakra refills: ambiguous

Max castable clones: 4 (150 + 100 = 250)
Max clone-hours: 6

[X] Shadow Clone SOP: Akane Default
  • Daily:
    • 2 blocks of XP training
Current resolve: 21
Current internal chakra: 300
Status of chakra refills: ambiguous

Max castable clones: 5 (150 + 125 = 275)
Max clone-hours: 7

As per my main proposal on the matter, if we agree on this as a community this would be our expected plan for them unless something in the winning plan or update supersedes it. We can also then change it when their resolve grows.
This might need to be somewhat integrated with action IC - asking about Snowflake in the former case and figuring out how to keep decoding at full-speed in the latter. I would strongly prefer 3 training blocks, which sucks up all available daily SC time.

[x] (Doggo) A tracking dog
[x] (Doggo) A genjutsu dog
[x] (Doggo) A track-covering dog

Not sure about that last one, given skywalkers, but still.

Quick note:

I have not discussed this with @Velorien but my intent in the chapter was not "Ask Cannai for doggos and ye shall receive because he is Alpha and will command them to work with you." It was "Ask Cannai for doggos and he will introduce you to some that are a good match for what you want, and you can then attempt to convince them to work with you."
Then we'll want some dogs. We'll—"

"Sensei, wouldn't the dogs be at risk if they wandered around among the Force Walls?"

"Not for guarding, dummy. For petting.

The point of having a SOP is so that we know what to do when there isn't anything else pressing for the clone-hours. If an action plan says to use one of our Shadow Clones to get the paperwork done, or to attend a meeting, or if one of those things happens in the update, then in the player-driven post-update XP calculation we just subtract that clone from the SOP.

You make an excellent point about Akane though, and I completely forgot that her clones should be decoding. Accordingly:
[X] Shadow Clone SOP: Akane Decoding
  • Daily:
    • 10 clone-hours (across 4 clones) decoding notes.
      • Upgrade with additional clone-hours as Resolve increases, up to Resolve 26 at which Akane is at the limits of her chakra (15 clones-hours across 5 clones) and we cannot advance further until we sort that out.
      • Six fewer clone-hours than normal on the day before a mission, to guarantee no Consequences.
Current resolve: 21
Current internal chakra: 300
Status of chakra refills: ambiguous

Max castable clones: 5 (150 + 125 = 275)
Max clone-hours: 10

In fact, Keiko needs to be interrogated as well, because her actions were probably the immediate impetus.

I cannot emphasize this enough. Something epochally bad is about to happen, it is going to involve Noburi and/or Yuno, and the absolute best case scenario is that she has decided to marry into the Hyuuga. That was not a proposal. That was a farewell.

Additionally, the character sheets have been updated with the latest Pangolin Training Technique and Yamanaka Technique expenditures. Physique and Resolve have been raised accordingly.
Speaking of which, does shadow clone XP synergize with Yamanaka Technique XP if we have the clones use the technique while training Resolve?

Personally, I would like to precommit to spending the 2 slots we get in January on them, and tell them so, and use the current slot we have on someone else.
Noda, an alcoholic technique hacker of unknown elemental affinity, very disinterested in us right now but Mari has been working behind the scenes to make her like us more (or something like that).
Aya? Ava? Something like that. I don't remember much about her,

I'm okay with Noda or Sakura, though I'd also be open to saving it. Aya's pov chapter heavily implied that she suffered extreme trauma at the hands of a taijutsu specialist and that Hazou reminded her of her assailant. Aya was extremely disinterested and I vaguely recall saying that we should give her her space because of that.

I'd still totally be down for Sakura, provided that Haru and Akane are okay with that. They were friends and Sakura should be a good fit into the Goketsu. So unless there's anything horrible that Akane/Haru haven't told us about her, then I'm down to vote for her getting the adoption slot...

Or Noda, since Noda is a technique hacker with her own unique jutsu and was interesting enough when... Well, when she wasn't blackout drunk. But I can understand how we might not have the time to commit to helping her to her feet.

I don't think we should waste a slot asking for a tracking dog. Canoe is a scout so she will probably be able to fill out that role

I'd argue that it's very important. We only discovered Isan (and thus, the Pangolin Scroll) because of a lucky tracking roll on Mari's part. Candoru is probably a pretty good tracker, but imagine what a tracking specialist dog summon might lead us to?? (Edit: the ultimate game of fetch) ^.^

This line definitely stuck with me the most.

So tragic. : /

I didn't catch it at first... Upon reread? Yeah... It hit my heart.

Constant eyes on Noburi and especially Yuno right fucking now.

...But... Why? They seemed alright, if a little confused by standard relationship stuff. Noburi and Yuno need to sit down and talk it out (with Keiko moderating, probably) but nothing more than that.

They're building to something heartbreakingly terrible.
So... Happiness is a death flag? I mean, sure Noburi needs to show he's devoted to Yuno and dedicated to her, but I don't think there's anything more at stake than their relationship.

Yes, this is a thing humans do regarding the grudgeful sibling they have chosen to take legal responsibility for in the hopes of winning his assimilation and loyalty into the core family. Happens all the time.
Maybe Haru was at the party, just not a big part of it? Given his characterization, I could see him being naturally inclined to be a "wallflower" at parties, especially since Haru's still not sure if he wants to be part of the Team Uplift family. IIRC, the main draw to signing up with the Goketsu was the clan name that Haru could then use to help his family and actually get things done around the Leaf.

I've read Haru more as "do I want to be a part of this family more than just in name alone?" We've shown that we trust him (that one scene with Noburi's bloodline secret, where Haru was stunned by Hazou's trust in him, Hazou just kinda said "we're different," and Haru was flabbergasted because he's beginning to realize that Hazou really is telling the truth and truly is different). So now Haru just has to decide if he wants to take that leap of faith and join Uplift in full, or remain a mere Goketsu.

I actually thought that we were intentionally giving Haru his space to decide... Oops?

There are plenty of Watsonian explanations, none of which are more parsimonious than the Doylist explanation I brought it up as a part of.
