Alright; what's the best way for us to destroy visiblity for the large group of people, and cause a panic? Bonus if the QMs can reuse large parts of the retconned chapter, and if we don't tell Shika about what we're planning to do.

I hate retcons, but at least we get the opportunity to fix our mistakes.

[χ] Slaughter the whole crowd with liberal use of explosives

So real talk, I think the best we could do here would be mass DQs without any injury. Going to brainstorm on this.

Since we're the ones making his plans.... As much as @Vecht does. Plus whatever bits that the rest of us know that Vecht doesn't.
1+0 = 1.
PSA: Massive Retconning

Okay, @faflec pointed out that we made a significant mistake about the misterators: they don't block line of sight, and therefore the person in the crowd who kicked all this off with an explosive tag would not have had the necessary cover to do that...which, of course, means that the whole stampede and everything that followed would not have happened.

The only fix that we can come up with on this is to retcon the whole thing away. As such, the end of chapter 190 has been modified: time was rolled back to after the EM had been used and before the tipserator was used. STL, TU, and Hazō are off in the NE corner of the grounds, most other people are gathered on the front lawn, a few people and possibly some number of proctors are wandering around the grounds. Your vote for Wednesday should proceed from this point.

All of chapter 191 will be declared ex-canon.

I confess that as someone who likes winning, I'm pretty happy for a second chance at something we screwed up previously. That's probably not the ideal attitude to have, and both you and many other players will feel differently, but I'm a filthy casual.

It hasn't been determined yet. A large crowd is gathered on the front lawn, you're on the back lawn, you have the tipserator ready. If you want to use it you need to figure out how. Go.
So... we were originally trying to get tensions to rise without a mass panic. Does that still apply, and what are we hoping to get out of this?

Sooo if we keep the house impossible to occupy, they have to cancel the event before everyone gets super henge sick, right?

Okay, so I honestly think we should abort the tipserator. We already have everyone gathered in one place, and it seems like that's just begging for trouble. We've seen what can happen when ninjas are unexpectedly intoxicated in the scene where the schoolmaster almost killed a bunch of kids, and we'll be getting the proctors as well as the rest of the crowd. It seems like this could really easily go really wrong, really easily.

You know, in the first post I made in this thread, I mentioned how this whole quest, with its ideals of simulationism and extreme player agency, was a crazy endeavour only made at all feasible by you guys, @eaglejarl, @Velorien and @OliWhail, being at the helm.

Massive respect for doing this. Reading @faflec's posts on Misterators, I was thinking "Well, are we really going to retcon the whole thing because of this one inconsistency? Surely, that would be madness.". But you went and did it. I don't know whether it's the right decision, and it's certainly not the most convenient one for you, but you continue to reinforce my faith in this quest by sticking to your principles like this.

And now, time to recreate the massacre, as the results were honestly really cool in a very dramatic way.

If the house is empty, we could... burn it down? Might risk another panic though.

I mean causing the same level of panic but having us not be caught doing it is best
Nah, we weren't caught doing it in the-time-that-never-was, but we still got massive grief from the other Leaf teams for it. If we can have a fight break out without the panic that might be okay? I don't think we'd see anyone throw an explosive tag again, if only because they lack the cover to pull it off, but it's probably not worth risking them stampeding again, even without the fire.

I also had a point about the possible guy who threw the explosive tag, but I think it might be cheating to try and use information like "some asshole in this crowd would totally throw an explosive tag if he thought he could get away with it" when it never happened.

[ :V] Action Plan: Ripple Proof Memory

  • Deploy a dozen of Misterators into the crowd to block LoS.
  • Throw an explosive overhead.
  • Hide like a Mole back to STL, punch Shikamaru in the mouth.
    • Punch Ino as well.
    • Hug Akane.
Contingencies: If an enemy agent tries to prevent us from executing any of the above, punch them, too.

How long does the heat from EM stay for? Permanent damage is bad.

Also, we should make sure we plan for the right goals here; we were just in survival/social recovery effort. Now we need to identify and disqualify or get even with the best non-leaf teams in this event.

By putting everyone in one place we have greatly reduced the advantage a properly socially-specced team has here; no more one-on-one, covert chats. How do we make sure we get as many points as the opponents?

I see three main possibilities:
1. Event is aborted
2. We find out who all the ninja are. We can still lose points via secret names though
3. Mass henge popping in the crowd for penalty points all around

I'm going to regret doing this, I swear to god.

[X] Poll: We should NOT use tipserators. (Tipserators)

We had the bright idea to get a ninja intoxicated in the past, and that almost screwed us. Let's avoid repeating that mistake.

I am actually against provoking any fight after seeing how lethal the retcon'd one was. It just doesn't make sense for someone like Hazo to deliberately cause.

If we can come up with something that keeps the herd from dispersing for a while without making them in-fight, that'd be best I think.
