Also really dislike the fact that we aren't using burning log macerators aggressively. They are a great way to force teams to move towards our ambush. They also work as a way to keep teams from approaching us if we are outnumbered. Strongly advice revising your stance on them @Briefvoice

the terrain said:
The grass isn't more than knee high at the highest, plus it's dried out and brown.

Not the greatest environment to be throwing around burning logs. We could easily set the whole field on fire, and that will have unpredictable results... in the worst case teams start circling around the area.

With that being said, you have a point; I'll suggest we avoid using Jiraiya's Goo Bombs since I'm pretty sure Kagome's bombs are strong enough we can at least try to pretend our Goo Bomb supply isn't insane...and then bust it out later for more fuckery.

Reasonable. I'll note to keep the Jiraiya seals for Team Uplift.

So I'm confused, which plan is being talked about? We're talking about fields but he's also doing Hunting Like Raptors...

No, I know, just in the context it sounded like an ambush plan not a hunt and find plan.

Which I would prefer. Ambush seems like a much better way to use our resources.

e:

If we're doing that, we might as well just bury ourselves under the dirt.
Not really. Burying ourself cost us mobility and awareness. Ghillie suits are pretty much a free bonus to stealth

Sooooo...did you change your mind on this?

Got around to it.

@Briefvoice could concider everyone using Henge to transform into wearing ghillie suits to help with stealth?

Well it's 8 chakra each, and then it'll certainly break during the first fight meaning it would be another 8 chakra to reestablish. I'm not really sure an Aspect of "Ghillie Suit" would be worth enough. Remember that the people most in need of the help receive the least benefit due to their already low stealth scores and correspondingly low Aspect Bonus. I don't know the chakra pools of anyone but our four, but Hazou only has 100 chakra.

It's like... we can ambush the first group, but then they're going to be coming so fast and so furious that who knows if there will be time to carefully reestablish stealth for the next group. It's going to be a series of running fights. If even 10% of teams take the direct route, that's 30 teams in 30 minutes!

We'll certainly ambush all we can, but it's going to be tricky.

10% of teams is 10, not 30, there's 100 present. 3 minutes is enough to hide ourselves.

But is it enough to do that and also loot/hide the bodies (nonlethally, obviously)?
With a tunnel to stuff 'em in, sure :p

e: Also, ghillie henge costs chakra, and if we're gonna do that after EVERY fight as would be necessary for any taijutsu specialists (except maybe Neji?) it'll get expensive.

Oh yeah, that's right. Still, there's no guarantee they'll be evenly distributed either.

Let's work this out.
Figure if someone is taken out then they can't resist chakra drain, so Noburi ought to be able to drain 50 chakra each action. After we beat down a team of enemies, he can drain them dry in probably between half a minute and a minute. Other team members loot them in the meantime. Then let's say it takes one action for him to feed a team member a drink of chakra water to recharge then. To do the full team takes abotu 11 actions, but not all of them might need it. Still, now we're up to probably at least a minute just futzing around with chakra water, and everybody has to dive back for cover to reestablish stealth. Given that you have to "move carefully" through the grass to use it as cover, I'm going to say that you can't go ninja speed. Say another minute?

You can see how this starts to get tight, right?

With a tunnel to stuff 'em in, sure :p

Our current plan says to toss them in a tree or something...

@eaglejarl @Velorien @OliWhail
  • What are Keiko's 4 unspecified Pangolins, that she got from the second Skytower trade; and what are their abilities?
  • What is the 5th Pangolin jutsu we got, and what are its specs?
  • What are specs for Water Release: Syrup Trap and Pantokrator's Hammer?
  • What does Hazou know of his allies (Team Asuma, Team Guy, Team Akane) in terms of their abilities?
Sorry we haven't gotten this to you yet. @OliWhail has a personal thing going on, I haven't seen @Velorien much these past couple days, and I've been making poor sleep choices and therefore very low on spoons. I'm working on that one. We aren't deliberately ignoring you and we haven't forgotten; please do keep nudging us, though.

Okay, I need to tally things so I can figure out which plans are on the table, but the other thing:

I'm not sure we can definitely say the other ninja will have chakra, or at very minimum that we can transfer it between fights.

My reasoning is as follows:

There's a thirty minute window where all teams must head to the proctors if they want to be counted.

Assuming there are a hundred teams or so, at the absolute worst case scenario there'll be three teams every minute. Assuming that somehow only one fifth of the teams decide to even attempt the run, that still makes three teams every five minutes. I'm not sure that that tempo of fighting at high chakra burn is going to be sustainable, at all; maybe we should tell them to "not be conservative, but you don't have unlimited chakra" sort of deal.
Note that many of the teams will have been taken out already, and more may choose not to take the direct approach to the rally point.

It's a safe bet that *at least* half the teams have been eliminated already.

Got around to it.

See above for reassurance.

EDIT: On this note, good night!

Tunnel is definitely a better option imo, as long as it's provided with a tunneler's friend seal and reinforced with a couple 5SB planks so it's not caved in on them.

Aaagh I really wish we knew which method was judged by Keiko to be likely to hit more teams

e: Ugh, I'm beginning to just favor giving leadership to Shikamaru.
