[X] Kagome's Introduction to Sealing: So You Wanna Be a Sealmaster? -- and Library Granny's reception of it.
FTFY"So You Wanna Be a Sealmaster?" byY. KagomeNONE OF YOUR BUSINESS YOU STINKING NINJA STINKER
Chapter 1
Don't do it, you stupid stinker.
"Very wise, Goketsu. Very wise, indeed."
Sure, but send it to all three of us, okay? (@OliWhail, @Velorien, me)Nah, I just don't like posting ideas that are only half-baked and may or may not be viable depending on exact math. As well as not liking to do math when I don't know the exact tolerances I have to hit. Would PMing you my idea, as well as what I see following from it, suffice?
Is there a reason to not simply post it and get the entire hivemind to help make it work?
Assuming that the
1) nightlight seal is as bad as we think
2) that we're able to prevent Mist from becoming ground zero of a massive invasion from the Out
I can imagine Jiraiya tasking Kagome with writing "The Beginner Sealmaster's Guide to NOT DESTROYING THE WORLD", then making it required reading for every prospective sealmaster in the elemental nations.
You're aware that we'd have to vote a plan in to spill anything and you could scream at us the whole time, right?Sure, I'll send it as soon as I gather my thoughts on the subject.
For one, I don't trust Hivemind with OPSEC. Can't spill a secret you don't know.
@Radvic seems trustworthy though, and with a good moral fibre.
Screaming doesn't strike me as as good an OPSEC policy as just not letting the leak happen in the first place. You're aware that we'd have to vote a plan in to spill anything and you could scream at us the whole time, right?
I think it's more likely that we'll get bonux XP to that end.Screaming doesn't strike me as as good an OPSEC policy as just not letting the leak happen in the first place.
Hm. Given that hivemind based plans on the assumption of higher personal power of everyone in the party than an average exam participant because of higher optimisation, and that those assumptions might no longer hold if we convert everyone's builds into a new system directly, would it be possible for us to have a one-time chance to rebuild our party members in a way that mostly fits their observed capabilities from before instead of just directly converting skill levels?

We are wrestling with this one ourselves, so any thoughts or ideas are welcome.I'm not even sure what option would be best to take (bonus EXP, elevated EXP gain rate so our core stats match our established progression rate, comparable amount of ways to augment our stats, just sucking it up) let alone how to get there, but I feel that if a better solution than bonus XP can be found we should go with that first.
20% of XP goes to a bonus pool which may only be used on Physique.
20% is the number it used previously.Isn't 20% like a huge amount? It means characters are literally 20% more powerful than equivalent ninja, presuming they would have spent that on physique anyway. 5% seems very powerful, but still reasonable. Equivalent to an extra bloodline, maybe.
Shhhhhh. Shhh. Shhhhhhh.That... was probably too high. At jounin level that means everyone will have an epicly high physique whether they pay attention to it or not. It's as if that character was specializing in strong.
I think the best way to deal with that without completely nerfing it would be to cap it, or otherwise make it less effective at anything better than chunin strength-specialist.
I think it would be worth revisiting the whole "these characters are not prodigies" topic though. There are a number of reasons why prodigies could get overlooked by the ninja school system. There are a number of reasons why prodigies get overlooked by the RL school system. A while in the woods running for your life could very easily cure people of the "smart but lazy" aspect. Perhaps ninja school is actually crappy, and most prodigies get a lot of clan support, etc. There are a lot of in-universe explanations for why the characters could all be prodigies and still get sent on the death mission. Mari did pick them specifically out of all the available genin.
I don't know, the goketsu kids look like prodigies to me, and I think it deserves a rethink from the QMs.
EDIT: Forgot to remove all the text from a non-helpful point

I believe that such a change was implemented during the previous Rebalance, leading to the members of our motley crew having an XP-per-day notably higher than the typical ninja.
Well, gosh. Now I'm confused.
