I don't think this is necessary: Minami's shown RN that she doesn't really care about us (save maybe Hazou/Akane), and arguing that if violence occurs everyone dies isn't going to do any more than arguing that if violence occurs she dies. And she knows that.

I think our mental models of Minami are very different

Can you tell me your model then? We can discuss this and maybe come to an agreement?

I think Minami is working on emotional overdrive and has not considered the consequence of her actions. I also thinks that she has absolute confidence in her bloodline to eliminate all of us. Her mind is optimizing for the combat situation not for the political fall out

I don't think Minami is stupid enough to think she could kill a Chunin+ and 3-4 Genin/Chunin levels without dying, being horribly injured, or breaking the platform that will break if we fight. Emotional overdrive or no, her bloodline would have to be absolutely insane to have that ability. Minami may have a high opinion of her bloodline but I don't think she's that confident.

Anyway, I would agree with you wrt the political fallout but would argue that the combat situation isn't going to be survivable for her. At best she takes everyone out, and that's not worth it from her POV. I don't imagine Minami as the willing-to-die type.

If she isn't confident in her coming out of the situation alive why would she instigate violence? I mean I guess it could be a bluff. To appear to be talked down and then have have Kagome die in an "accident" later. I don't see a third option that makes sense to me

Could you clarify the part where she instigates violence? I don't see where this happens, minus the part where she woke up and found out that her teammate just tried to kill her...She's certainly going to activate her bloodline then to defend herself, since she's not fully aware of what's going on (again she just woke up); she seems to have calmed down a bit after everyone else woke up.

She might be simply desperate. Better a 1 in 10000 chance than no chance at all, that kind of thing. (In her mind, I mean.)

@Raxner That tally is incorrect because it doesn't do approval voting.

Edit: At least I think. Do we know when the voting phase started?

The sword trembled slightly in her hands. "I wanted to believe in you. But it turns out you're missing-nin after all. Once a Cold Stone Killer, always a Cold Stone Killer."

Her grip relaxed. The blade stilled.
"I guess I don't have a choice."

I read that as that she is about to try to kill everyone right now. I think she hasn't processed things and is confident that she can take us.

Huh. I'm reading the "relaxed grip" as her calming down, not like her preparing to stab through us. And the "i don't have a choice" sounds to me like "I'm not going to win, so I'm going to shut up about this and hope you don't kill me RN".

I read that she was nervous and didn't want to engage in combat. But she's decided we are a bunch murder. That's why she tensed up. I read the shaking as nervousness. Totally think she's going to start shit know. If she was looking to deescalate figure she would have lowered the blade

I mean, if she decided to we're already fucked. I doubt talking would save us and we're already in a position where, since she's not incompetent, she can kill 3 of us in one fell swoop.

That's why we have to point out the consequences of her trying to kill us. She can kill a couple of us immediately

Let's introduce every GM's favorite word...

Metagaming.

Now, here's the thing. Imagine, if you will, that Minami is ultra powerful and can take out half the team in half a second with her bloodline. Then, using that power, the next update is only "Minami kills you. New Game?"

... Would the QMs do that to us?

As I recall, it was a non-QM who wrote up her sheet. Who was that again?

@ContextBot I recognize your concerns but argue that it is tactically better for us to let Noburi and Keiko to lead, specifically because they are better at Diplomacy (the skill). Additionally, I would argue that Minami's anger was a response to Akane's statements; Noburi and Keiko seemed to limit themselves to factual "this is what's going on".

I don't think this will be a dice roll.

Rating hugs is a poor stand in for "Okay, I need a hug."
I don't think this will be a dice roll.
Why not? Wasn't the ruling that the GMs would roll social die between...whatever Minami and Noburi/Keiko are RN (IDK, are they enemies, friends, frenemies...)?

Dice rolls are fine for situations where we're zooming back from the action, but for a high-focus conversation like this I have to believe that what we're saying matters a lot more than how eloquently Hazou says it.
