Hmmm...

This could be a truly staggeringly awful idea, or kind of a good one, but what if we went hunting for bloodline ninja and brought Kabuto back a tissue sample as a gift. It would help improve relations there massively, and when word got around Leaf that we'd done something significant for that doctor we accidentally threatened, it would win J back some credibility ("You see! Those missing nin weren't unstable pricks after all!).

The hard part is hunting down a bloodline ninja that
  1. We could take.
  2. Getting a tissue sample from wouldn't start a war.
  3. We wouldn't feel bad about taking a tissue sample from.

Let's just put bodies in storage seals. Forget this tissue stuff.

We are bloodline ninja, let's give him our arm./s

Really though, why hunt other bloodline ninja when we're right here.

We should definitely bring things back to get on Leaf's good side again. To me, hunting bloodline ninja seems too high in risk and in time/effort cost, but storing chakra beast samples sure. And we can seal enemies' bodies or body parts as an SOP, if we have the time and if it wouldn't leave too obvious a trail of missing bodies.

Once we settle down and get to talk seals with Kagome, we should see if there's something we can research that'd be novel and useful to Leaf, but not an overwhelming advantage.

Also, we should ask Inoue if there are things she thinks are rare/valuable in Leaf. (QMs, I forget if this was ever part of an implemented plan, but did Hazou get a sense of this during the shopping trips?)

I recall that part of the deal with Leaf is that we would get access to one of their Bingo books.

Is this information something we would be able to have full access to in the near future?

In that case, there's XP for us in them thar waters! ARRRR!

Honestly, I'd be up for it.

IMO, we seem to have a disproportionate influence on the continent, good or bad, but I feel like our position is weak enough that it could backfire easily. I know our survival's always been balanced on a knife's edge, but I wouldn't mind taking a break.

We need it to recover, recharge, and re-examine things.

We could probably focus on research too.

Although, I'm wondering if making ourselves available for Jaraiya missions is a good thing this soon, or should we get the hell out of his hair for a bit and come back with some mouth-watering shinies (seals) later.

Why? We have perfectly good explosive seals...
Throwing explosive seals to propel a boat would use them fairly quickly. Unless we got a material strengthening seal and started to harness the energy I don't think it'd work for anything but a short boost.

Maybe something midway between a storage and an implosion seal. First mode - takes in fluid, but slow enough to not break. Second mode: releases fluid in a stream. Point it in front and use mode 1, point it backwards and use mode 2, repeat.

(Could automate this by having a "mast" with seal housings that can be rotated to either position and then hand-activated.)

Ideally we just have a pump jet seal; takes in water on one side and shoots it out the other. Put it in a tube with a gimbaled nozzle, attach tube to bottom of boat, zoom.

What if we went below sea(the island) to those unnamed islands? We could just leave the elemental nations. That could be interesting.

The QMs will invent new nations from nothing, and we'll be back where we started, or worse.
I think they'd probably slap us with some impassable chest high fences made of plot and tell us to fuck off if we did something like that for no reason. As well they should.

Thing is, the team's only doing what we decide if we can convince them to go there. And Hazou doesn't exactly have a lot of trust right now.

A lot of the more exploratory or off-the-wall ideas are cool, and they're things I'd like to check out, but I'm not sure we can convince the team to try them out right now. Best we can do, I think, is suggest a tack that's less risky but leaves the option open, like going down to Tea and being able to check out the islands from there once we're on better terms with the team.
