She is reported to have physical combat skills, emphasizing seal-equipped kunai on ninja wire. Her exact skill level in unknown.

I wonder if Zephyr's Reach (or other Wind jutsu, in Mari's case) can be used to interfere with the kunai via the ninja wire more readily than directly against the kunai itself. Possibly Mari has enough direct experience to know the answer.

I'm also considering whether it OR whispering winds can be used to spread airborne paralytic. Mari should test that out with dust, as should Keiko.

Wait shit doesn't that Yamanaka now know all about Hidden Mountain? That was something that Jiraiya was gonna decide later whether to be told about.

I don't think we know. We can ask Mari (Probably outside of an update? Since I don't think it affects our immediate actions?) whether it seemed like she could tell what the Yamanaka technique was reading, and whether she thinks any real information about Hidden Mountain was included. But even then it's possible that a sufficiently skilled Yamanaka might be able to let you know about some of the reading being done, while still hiding that she saw certain other things.

Yeah, now we don't really have a way of knowing whether Jiraiya is going to have the info. Which is highly undesirable.

On another note, I am getting a really bad feeling about this next mission. Our #1 offensive force (explosions) has been neutered because of our need of a recognizable corpse. And we are facing a possible Kagome-tier sealmaster who is very good at traps and alarms.

I don't think capture is gonna be a possibility. The risk of losing a party member is too great. So it's gonna be assassination, and Kagome is gonna be absolutely vital in piercing her possible defenses.

I dunno, if we could paralyze her before combat with any of our varieties of poison, which should be pretty easy if Whispering Winds or Zelphyr's Reach can carry it, we should be able to capture her.

if we could paralyze her before combat... we should be able to capture her.
Hopefully yes, but she may be able to henge into a healthy form despite paralysis if she can do it without handseals, which is why we need to test our paralytics thoroughly.

Best if we paralyze her initially, then knock her unconscious and run straight to Jiraiya without stopping, possibly with Nobby keeping her drained. That way she'll hopefully be unable to activate any suicide techniques as well.

I vote that we set up a nuclear fallback option to make sure that at the very least she doesn't get away alive - I don't want to have to report mission failure to J right now.

I would guess not, since it's probably not something Mari was deliberately trying to hide, and she said that she would specifically have trouble avoiding things we were "desperate to hide"

Do we have any such poisons? If we could manage such roadside ambush, that'd be pretty dope, but we'd also be in the area.
We've talked about going and grabbing some of that wasp venom/powder from way back near the village in Iron

Brainstorming: what if her guards are summoners of some sort? Like say...the tapirs

Probably a total shot in the dark, but it may be worth mentioning the Seal-lady's name to the Pangolins when Keiko makes her next Summoning excursion. Never know what we may find out, doesn't hurt to try

If that happens we shouldn't fight her.

We should turn around and tell Jiraiya that we elected to not get even more of his deniable assets killed.

Mmn, I dunno. I don't think the pangolin would appreciate if we ran way from the tapir summoner. They'd definitely be a lot more inclined to help us out if so, at least.

...what happens if she casts summoning inside the summon realm, I wonder?
We can ask.

...We really ought to work out how summoning contracts work at some point and make our own.

e: (I lowkey want Hazou to end up with the Cat contract just so the team can call him Mr. Mew instead of Mr. MEW :p)

Hey, I'm like 80% sure they're still out there somewhere and will not only be a major late-game player but will be the key to uplifting the Elemental Nations.

That said, let's not experiment with Summoning too much.
Headcannon: Uzumaki clan invented a Summoning Scroll with themselves as the summons. Now they're hidden on some seal-protected invisible island in the Realm.

Would not be surprised in the slightest if this were the case. I wish we could get the rest of the party to the summon realm. I wonder if there's anywhere we can safely cross over at?

What's up with the Uzumaki tombstone that's potentially useful, for those of us that are a little less knowledgable of Naruto-verse?
