Some going missing logistics:
  • I truly believe we can reduce our touch ground rate to under 1% if we try. We have skytowers for medium term air bases, we can travel only with skywalkers, and we can graze Arachnid and Toad and Dog for food. The only sticking points are unstagnating and FOOMing. FOOM can be solved with chakra font runes (who the fuck is gonna find a rune in a random stretch of the sky 2 miles up?), and we can touch ground when we want to delve into dungeons or Jashin temples. Otherwise we can literally not interact with humans at all if we want. That, combined with Orochimaru's privacy seals and everything else means we're pretty much undetectable as long as we don't make stupid mistakes (which we will make and get detected anyway).
  • I don't think going missing will help Mari's mental health lmao. She hated Snow, she's gonna hate Air even more :V The whole group's mental health also needs to be checked frequently if we want to go long term missing again. Living 2 miles up in the air with no contact is probably not good for anyone.
  • Going missing incentivizes us to figure out 5SB cannons, since having a sort of long range air bombardment weaponry would be good for ambushes.
  • Mari and Yuno def need scrolls so that they can reverse summon.
 
If anyone stays behind, we do not go missing. Remainers risk torture. Everyone must be convinced. Is scroll hunt locked in, stay or go? If so, less chance of leaking if we break the decision on the hunt. Worst con is TH apprenticeship interrupt if group decides to stay. Compromise option. Gold mine extraction mission. Propose the choice to go missing. Return or transition immediately to scroll hunt depending on answer. Leave behind secret gold stashes for those we abandon. To use or turn over to Leaf to prove loyalty.

Necromancy is our reason for leaving but people with the most reason to stay will not find it convincing. No solid proof Akane and Jiraiya are in Daizen hell. Akatsuki torture blackmail and Akatsuki stealing Runecrafting are more convincing.

Decide what to do as a clan. Killing Akatsuki is easier with Leaf cooperation if we go all in. Denying Akatsuki the rift is easier than killing them, but impossible to dodge retribution staying in Leaf.
 
I am thinking that Squirrel (for Mari) may be a better Scroll to pursue than Otter... it's far away from the EN and the Easterners are going to be as hostile to AMITY hunters as they are to us so it shields us a bit. Marsh may also be a really great country for Partial-FOOM until we get Sage Stones running, since it's very, uh, Marshy.

And we can potentially talk to the Rats in advance about Yuno, tell them what she's been through and butter em up by saying they would be a good influence on her...

OTOH, IV is right that the pool in Wind would be a very useful trait to mimic with runes and if we're already over there we may as well grab the Otters if we can.

Problem with bringing Yuno is she prays to/worships Hidan Jashin right? So she'll (probably deliberately) blow our cover big time.
