I strongly object to this. Not only are we giving up any influence and gains we can get from this it's also going to be incredibly difficult to get anything out of doing this above board. I'd really like a compromise where we discuss the benefits of freelancing or going above board

I would like to have large-scale threat assessment done during the update following the next. I've intended it as the event where we finally sort out which of Kagome's claims (if any) reflect reality, and what concrete, near-terms steps we can take to gather more information about the cosmic-horror part of the setting, as well as how to act on it. It's absolutely going to take up an entire update, maybe two, before taking into account the discussion on contacting Akatsuki.
So I would like to do other stuff this update. Ping me with other suggestions if you have them.

- Meet with Shikamaru, Ino, and Chouza. Bring Mari and Naruto, request Kei's presence.
- (Schedule a bunch of minor meetings with other Clan Heads as a cover, so that our continued association with ISC isn't signaled strongly.)
- For ISC's safety, we can't be overt allies. Fine. Are they willing to covertly cooperate with us on changing the status quo so that we can be overt allies again?
- Brainstorm.
- Improving the Gouketsu's relations with members of Hiashi's faction.
- Coordinating to improve the Gouketsu's relative entrenchment.
- Decreasing the Hyuuga's political power.
- Start teaching KEI members:
- (Overarching goal: Look for overlooked (due to personality traits, the Academy's biases, etc.) promising students to adopt/apprentice.)
- Coordinate with Kagome on teaching Sealing Theory to KEI members. Don't teach practical sealing unless Kagome approves.
- Suggest teaching Medicine to Noburi.
- Is Naruto a technique hacker? Would he be willing to teach too?
- Apply for guest lectures at the Academy (one-two weeks later).
- Sealing:
- Start analysing Orochimaru's, Bakushin's, and Goemon's notes with Kagome and Noburi.
- Assess viability & difficulty of: Modifying Implosion Seals to leave air within 2 meters of the seal untouched.
- In combat, erect a 1.5-meters Air Dome around yourself, and activate the seal. You're unhurt, the seal's intact; everyone else within 20 meters dies almost without warning, regardless of their numbers, skills, or defences.
- If we could modify ISs to store calcium/meat instead of air, there'll be no need for Air Domes.
- Background:
- Conduct creative training daily.
- Continue getting to know the clanless living at our compound: their preferences, skills, desires.

Not entirely sure, Noumero's asking the QMs if there's been any updates. It could be that Kabuto caved, it could be that he's called our bluff, it could be that he hasn't done anything.
Once again, we're not bluffing.
Have Naruto be the one to "call a meeting of the Uzumaki's allies" if you feel that way. Or schedule a bunch of meetings with various clan heads (in groups) for minor business to drown the pattern in noise.

He's either approached Mari during the ~month we were away, or he hasn't. If he hasn't, he either knew we were gone and didn't approach because he wanted to talk to us personally, in which case he'll contact us within a few days, or he isn't interested/decided we're bluffing. In either case we gain nothing by approaching him first: if the former, it'll marginally weaken our negotiating position; if the latter, he won't join whatever we do.

Yes, yes we are bluffing. I am not going to destroy Orochimaru's legacy just because we can't get Kabuto's cooperation. If we need to we'll wait until Noburi's as good as Kabuto and then let him handle everything, but I will not abide us destroying irreplacable research just to make a point.

We had reason to believe the TN was in the upper 20s on this last time, and we still have that Severe Consequence.
I'd rather research more hard shit than easy shit, but our backlog still has a shitload of stuff we think is "Easy" that would be useful. How about trying for bigger Macerator v1 (the shitty easier storage seal with no velocity: increase the volume and mass limits as much as K thinks is reasonable to try) and bigger earth domes (diameter 15-20 meters, lets say).
The former specs into Big Storage Seals and the latter is "You now have a large house" and so is good for Uplift (print in spare time and/or get minion to do it in 5-6 months).

We have been told explicitly by the QMs that we can perfectly well research ESP seals at 20 sealing without killing ourselves. We just need to engage with the sealing mechanics rather than researching every day, is what we were told.

They've already said they'd send missions to us through intermediaries, and will hold gatherings with them as long as enough other clans also come along to provide plausible deniability. So...yes?
