Were we supposed to know that?
Were we supposed to know that?
Former Akatsuki confirmed as possible uplift allies?"It's over," Pain said loudly but clearly. "Thank you for staying by my side, and for devoting yourselves to a madman's dream. If I can make just one more selfish request of you, my friends… find your own ways to keep that dream alive. Even if there are no shortcuts to world peace, humanity can still do it the hard way."
Hiashi confirmed as next big bad?"Conflict is a necessary part of human nature. Without conflict, those worthy to lead cannot prove themselves, and society collapses into majority rule. Do you honestly believe that the peasant in the field has the same right to rule as the man who has proven his will and his power by overcoming all challengers? That the extraordinary Bloodline Limit flowing through your veins is of equal value to the blood of some common-born taken from the street? Deny the conflict that sifts the gold from the dross, and you reduce humanity to a foul homogeneous mass."
Minori confirmed as new best girl."We can," Minori found herself saying, with that tongue that refused to consult the rest of her. "Everyone else can get to safety, and then one person can kill him and take the consequences. I'm the least valuable person here, so…"
Ami confirmed as uplift-adjacent ally, if not outright uplift ally."We are your future jōnin. We are the future parents of your chūnin and genin. Right now, when the village needs us the most, we are the light breaking through the mist and illuminating the way to your new, liberal regime."
Gaara of the Sand Waterfall is, indeed, confirmed dead, as is Karatachi Yagura.
As to the Snake scroll, HDK.
Ah fuck, I thought some of our survivors were S-ranks, Hiashi especially. How do you figure? Leaf has Tsunade (who is beaten right to hell and back), Hiashi (ditto, and also not S-rank), and Naruto, whose degree of mental and physical health has not been hinted.
Mist has a functional jinchūriki who is older and more experienced than Naruto.
So does Waterfall.
So does Cloud.
Rock has two jinchūriki who are older and more experienced than Naruto.
Really, it comes down to whether or not Naruto is combat capable. If he is, Leaf is probably in good shape. I'd he's not, Leaf will be stomped into the mud in any serious fight. Unfortunately, even Naruto can't be everywhere at once. Leaf's ability to project power is essentially zero. And let's not forget that most of its major clans, including most of the ones friendly to the Gōketsu, are being run by either regents or teenagers, and there's about to be a major succession crisis as everyone goes for the hat.
This isn't the worst possible timeline, but it's got an address on the same block.
I know at least one person with a jutsu that might helpRest in peace, heroes. When it mattered most, they banded together to save the world as they know it. I think creating a grand memorial for the fallen is in order.
Yes. Both were killed in action. Lord Akimichi survived.
Waterfall having a Tailed Beast was in an infodump many generations ago.
WHAT DO WE DO?
WHAT THE FUCK DO WE DO?!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
It was in the list of survivors.
"I was on duty in the Tower when Lady Tsunade came back," Amane said quietly. "I heard some of it. She sent me to find you, said to make sure you were okay and to get you to talk."
"I guess… it's up to the next generation… now. Even if we fall… the Spirit of Youth is forever…"
Damn," he said to no one in particular. "Now who's going to keep Yukino out of trouble?"
In the end, Orochimaru of the Three hadn't been immortal enough
"It was a damn nightmare. Enemies on all sides, just this blur of ninjutsu and fighting that went on and on and on so that I thought it would never end... and then Lord Jiraiya died
"Lady Tsunade turned to help Lord Jiraiya. He was shouting, begging the paper woman to stop, but she just kept coming. He was in a bad way, bleeding out from the leg wound, and slowing down. Then he grinned with teeth and yelled 'Gōketsu Clan Technique: Kagome's Bliss!' and absolutely everything blew up. There was a massive fireball, bigger than anything I've ever seen. When it cleared, Lord Jiraiya's charred body was on the ground with a huge circle of ash around him, and a few tiny scraps of half-burned paper drifting down. And then Lady Tsunade went berserk, and...."
Tsunade of the ThreeAkimichi Chōza, head of the Akimichi Clan
Hyūga Hiashi, head of the Hyūga Clan
Sarutobi Asuma, head of the Sarutobi Clan
Inuzuka Gaku, jōnin of the Inuzuka Clan
Kurenai Yūhi, jōnin
Kazusa Minori, jōnin
Uzumaki Naruto, Nine-Tails jinchūriki
What the hell are those? I don't think it was in canon.Because after a thousand years of sacrifice, the Five are still sealed
It is way too early to give in and run just yet. We need to see how Naruto is first, plan things out with our clan, get to talking and seeing how our allied clans are faring, and check our options and see who has a decent chance of beating Hiashi for the hat.Okay, so Jiraiya is dead, Shikaku is dead, Inoichi and Chouza are dead, Orochimaru is dead, and Hiashi is alive. I don't think the half-dead/possibly-about-to-die Tsunade is going to cut it for us, even if she's accompanied by a broken Naruto.
I'm thinking we kill Hiashi and opt out. Leaf won't be able to afford hunting us down.
The alternative to that is waiting until Hiashi sabotages Leaf by ruining the alliance with Mist, then getting sent on a high-risk mission after a high-risk mission until we die — and these are going to be a dime a dozen in the new world chaos.
What the hell are those? I don't think it was in canon.
On the bright side, Ino and Shikamaru both have reasonably high opinions of us, so we aren't completely fucked. Who do we support for the Hat, though? Tsunade? I can't envision any other options. Shikaku, Kakashi, and Gai are all KIA.
