I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

I feel like there's value in actually leaving that to see how much Kraka Drakk's progress bonus procs for those mats. If they just finish over time on their own that would be helpful and we aren't slated to make anything that could use them for a while anyway.
Well if we go that route than 1 action on last place of odd to finish up that chain and 2 on Firebirds Feather to clear that up. We also can finish off suneaters brain or chimaera autopsy with 3 actions.

Looking at this we might want to do Understanding the Master Rune of Waking. We'd have chances to proc Bara, Lorna, and Valma, as well as Mind for Constructs and Student of the Odd. Even in the worst case where none of the Runelords procs and it takes a full 16 actions, it would still 'only' take three sets of three actions and a spare.

Honestly I'm not sure what we'd even get out of Understanding MWaking. We already have every version of it besides the Banner one and I don't think there can be a Banner version.

We've also progressed so far with it that the only way to improve it is by directly manipulating its interaction with Deep Magic and there's already a dedicated research action for that so *shrug*
 
Brain sounds nice, T5 ingredients are Rare and Important. And I'm curious what a brain like... THAT can do.
 
Finishing the odd places seems a good use for these turns. Besides that, suneatwr's brain or Rune metal perhaps?
There's not going to *be* anything we're going to do with Suneater's brain for like 8 turns unless we decide to not do the Valaya thing, since we're going to be busy prepping for that, so I don't see much reason to touch it. Seems like we could make better use of our time with the stuff that procs both Soul of the Earth and Student of the Odd.

We could finish odd places next turn and put the last action into Gromril Chain so that the turn after that we can finish the first part in one go. One last big field trip with Karstah and Nain.

Rune metal all the way. If the brotherhood favor option is back, we can one turn part 5 and maybe finally figure out what it actually does or start on the chain flex.

We should leave any mat sci we don't plan on using alone for a few turns to test the proc chance. The only idea for the brain so far is maybe the gronti which is 7-8 turns out minimum while the adamant builds up.
 
We really ought to leave the Gronti for after we finish pursuing this stuff with MWaking and Deep Magic

Along with any of Yorris notes that mightve survived

What Ulse and Lagg said. If you really want to proc MFM and SotE, go with Gromril Chain, that'll directly affect the Valkyrie armour too.
 
i say go all in with rune metal, then we can trade it later with the brotherhood for their research and research time
 
i don't think any research bonus procs without us taking a corresponding action but it would be best to ask soul for ig that is the case with Kraka Drak's odd places bonus
 
Minor bit of rebalancing for the Kraka Drakk Standing Bonus for Odd Places Materials to make narrative sense. Much like with the azrilwut epiphany the proc can only take it to a max of three actions out of four for the same narrative reasons (they dont do the whole uses in Runes thing) but in exchange Ill lower the DC to proc it.

Ill edit the whole max progress addendum in later.

An abstract lesson conveyed through thought and imagery. You see beings and events, bound with and tied to many strings that all fly skyward. Some are tied to sticks held, squabbled over by an infinite number of hands, the figures below puppeted, jostled and moved by their whims and machinations. While yet more flow into a loom that weaves a tapestry of infinite size and proportion, a grand story of endless possibilities writ large. Then a blinding flash of light as one of the figures clothed in black lifted a torch to his strings, burning them off before moving to do the same to others. The figure is harried, assaulted in its quest, destroying monsters whose strings demand they not die yet can do nothing against his flame. An eternity cutting as many threads as it can through effort and force of will before it crumples to the ground. The puppet masters are enraged, the sea of strings half-burned and destroyed, the tapestry of Fate frayed.

Given how enraged the puppet masters would be if we start looking into this I think we should do
(*New*)[ ] Wardstones: [Cost: 5 actions] Student of the Odd will proc. These Wardstones, the last creations of the Runesmiths of Karag Dum before they were wiped out, are capable of concealing the presence of a Dawi from the scrying of enemy magic. From Valka's testimony it wasn't perfect, but it made survival possible instead of impossible. That, and given the state of their resources, is a testament to their skill and canniness. A bit too quick to put to use in any other circumstance, uncovering the secrets of this Rune shouldn't be too difficult.

There is a theory, a hypothesis you wish to test and the faintest inklings of a Rune in your mind's eye. But there's a good deal of preparatory work to be done. One doesn't futz about with what you think you saw in that vision after all!
