I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

If we do get a adam smasher like dwarf which dwarf currently existing would it be? as in a dwarf going slayer and goes for full runic conversion body
 
With the given example of Wurtoth, I would like to postulate that it is the durability of living flesh that is the limitation of putting Runes on living people, rather than any inherent impossibility. Snorri's transmutation when wearing Barak Azamar may in fact provide him sufficient durability to survive the process.

A side note, there may or may not be failure points due to living beings conciousness and/or inherent magic that disrupts the operation of the runes, but that's not something we can determine unless we experiment and find out.
 
You can write working runes on bodies.
Runic tattoo are a thing for doomsekers.
You could do It in the storm of chaos and in the old world version of the game.

I.E. all the versions with the doomsekers in.

I like ti think that soul knows this and there Is the possibility of runic tattoos Is just that nobody knows about them yet.
Like the chainmaker.
 
Makes sense. I imagine only few could do them or are yet to be discovered, possibly Slayer Runesmith discovered them by basically doing the tattoo runes on himself, basically describing why he became slayer.

Slayers rarely if ever talks about why they when Slayers, the shame is to much for them, so for a Slayer to inscribe his greatest Shame on his body for all to see feels really unlikely...

Yeah, especially since the purpose of going Slayer is that death absolves you of shame, or at least makes it so you seek a fitting Doom to make it so. That way, in death you can be recieved into the halls of your ancestors by Gazul with a lightened burden and head held high.

Can't really do that if the story is still written in your flesh, especially when the dwarfs care so much about the body's importance to funeral rites, though that can be explained away if you try hard enough, since they should still have their ways regarding absent or highly damaged remans.

Well I started reading this two weeks ago. And it's been quite a journey to catch up.

And I can only say that it's been worth every second I've spent reading this.

Now a question that's been bothering me and if someone would be so kind as to answer.

What is the conflict between the runelords? I understand that they are free and are not organized in a guild, that's very clear.

The question is that I don't understand how the conflict with the southern runelords is branched out, trying at all costs to prevent a guild from forming. Is that bad?
 
Is not just bits of grimnir.
It Is also bits of vulcatrix plus whatever got piked up.
Probably it also contains some realmstone.
There are several cannon things that can combine with Ur gold.
Chaos corruption.
Ligth of hysh.
Etc etc.

For the tattooes, well we do not know how dwarf figured out how to make warding tattos.
They could be completly unrelated to Runes as a sistem.
It Is never stated that a runesmiths Is involved in It.
Maybe the tattooes by themself aren't even magical.
But the faith of the wearer empowers them, like a Warrior priest.
That could explain how even if It Is common to have tattoos as a slayer only doomseekers benefit from them.
You have to be a very strong kind of crazy to make them work.

The discourse about magic here Is quite warped by people thinkink you can use scientific principles in the whf world to understand It.
It just isn't the case magic in whf was never written like that or with enough dept.

Still there Is no way for Snorri to ever attempt such and act given he belives he will kill the creature he tries It on.

    By old world ruleset they either buff the user making him different kind of angry/furios more skilled or hardier.
    By storm of chaos defensive buff.

    They are stated to be very expensive.
    And the only benefit i can see Is not having to wear armor for It, so you can not be taken by surprise.
    You do completly lose the ability to just swap weapon or armor, you are still under the max 3 runes rule just on you body.
    Plus after your death they Will be destroied by normal rot.
    They do not seem to be more powerfull.

    If you have the money for It a normal runic item Is Just better, you can change it and pass It to your descendants.

    Slayers are into it because they do not wear armor and will rarely be under the effect of a banner or runesmith protection.

    This Is also a reason why few people ever experimented carving a rune on a livin being.
    A wearable talisman would work just as well and last much longer.

    Only urgold has a stronger effect when put directly on a person.
     
    The heat vision rune may also be very usefull for making really accurate temperature measurements.
    Connect it it to a kind of read-out and both the smiths and engineers may be very interested.
     
    I think getting like Googles with the rune would be great, especially if we make Rune that measures the tempature and shows it.
