Should we be worried about shadow clone knowledge transfer opsec by dealing with the Mari info + clone sickness during the meeting with two S-rankers w/ S-rank awareness? Asuma will be PISSED if we leak it here (and even taking the risk will probably make him more hesitant to give it to Kagome)

I know the winning plan (@Noumero ) has "make up an excuse" but I'm not sure we'll beat them if it comes to rolls. Not necessarily saying take it out, but maybe whether it's a good idea to pop the clone is something worth checking w/ Mari? Or if people have any other ideas

Edit: Maybe this is fine, since they shouldn't really have any way to know it's got anything to do with shadow clone? They'll definitely notice we did something, and if they have any kind of chakra awareness, they'll feel our chakra spike up as we do it, which is maybe a bit alarming. But we're more likely to cause an incident by this than to leak the details. And if they notice and go "wtf was THAT!", Asuma is on hand to de-escalate and distract. (He'd probably still be pissed if that happens though)

  • Declare: You hired the Nara to extrapolate birth rates and economic growth from road-building across Fire.
  • Purpose: occupy them with one such project. (Note: This isn't a goal Asuma knows and supports. Bring it up organically.)
Is this intended as a Declaration costing a FP? If so I don't think it's worth it. I really question if we want them wandering around Fire more than necessary. Hidan has a murder quota.

He might do the mission.....and massacre a few villages at the same time. Let's just get him out of Fire (hopefully pointed at Akane's killers)
How'd Hidan's visit to Rock gone?
  • Be cautious. Bringing up his (apparent?) failure may go poorly.
Should fix "gone" to "go".

If we want to establish a comms channel with Hidan, this is good spot for it. Mention that we would have liked to follow up with him afterwards, but didn't know who to contact or where to look.

Hopefully Asuma accepts that Hazou is just playing a character afterwards :V

"Didn't sound like a lie"

"That's because I would actually be willing to do it, but as a loyal Leaf ninja I won't"

"I'm sure. Sage, I need an aspirin."

"Is this a bad time to discuss bringing Mareo to Leaf?"

How is using Hidan as a living weapon on Leaf's enemies not the loyal thing to do? It's the most loyal

Establishing contact with outside entities without clearing it with the Tower first is one of the reasons Hazou got killboxed

But the circumstances now are a little different than then given that Hidan just asked us why we don't message him

Asuma wants Hazō to get Hidan to establish formal contact with Leaf, either himself or via some more sane member of—some other member of Akatsuki. Trying to kill Hidan is tempting, but Akatsuki's response would be unpredictable. If Hidan wants more targets, Asuma names the Rock jinchūriki. If Hidan has already taken out half a dozen elite jōnin (Ōnoki's successors) and both jinchūriki in a single attack, then you might as well throw him at the entirety of Cloud because Jashin has clearly made him invincible.
This is outdated, since AMITY. But I imagine that a direct line of contact with Hidan is still a desideratum.

Having made an infusion on MS7, how does Hazou feel it compares in difficulty to MS6? Roughly the same? Are we good to continue w/o SSA and prep on that one?
They're definitely getting harder, so Hazou would prefer to use SSA at this point. Prep days are generally inefficient, and Hazou does not think the Calligraphy requirements here are so high that he needs to use them (though a higher Calligraphy would improve his confidence, of course).

Thank you Paper!

So it makes sense to continue with SSA w/ no prep. We can finish up DEs in the next cycle and then swap to a new seal for the secondary clone. What are people feeling?

Quick in-thread poll: React like for 5SB, heart for 4FSP, informative for Rocket Boots, insightful for Banshee Lovers, and funny for other seal unspecified (and then tell me which seal).

Actually, @Paperclipped is it possible to get a WoG on how Hazou feels about Rocket Boots before we finish DEs or will we need to wait until we finish to get a reassessment? I'm curious if he feels that he can handle the Callig roll without prep now that he's (almost) finished DEs.

Did Kei tell us how much she wants to raise her Deceit stat? Obviously higher than a 10-stat, but did she have an end-goal in mind when she spoke to Hazou about modifying her training plans?

For example:
  • Just to 20
  • A reasonable 30
  • An eyebrow-raising 40?
  • Dare we ask why 50?
  • Holy hell Kei 60?

Do we get to know what the penalties are? Kei did it successfully, after all. There's been lots of talk about training Mari (or Akane RIP) in Summoning before obtaining the relevant scroll, as a way to save time.
Takahashi didn't explain them to Kei, whether for manipulative reasons or because he felt the implications of miscasting the world's most complex space-time ninjutsu would be self-explanatory to an intelligent pessimist.
