Yes. While the thought that we've never met the real Ami is hilarious, it's just a thought. The practical implication is that Ami, like the clone, is partially or totally absent the frozen skein.
I think we might've met the "real" Ami at least once. When Ami first meets Hazou, she doesn't have as good a grasp on his character. So when Hazou says that he's annoyed by her pretending [to like him], she mistakenly believes him to be talking about her "personality protocols." Ami immediately drops all of her masks, has a blank expression and a flat voice. Hazou's shocked by the sudden change, Ami realizes her error, seems to throw a mask on and then proceeds to confuse the heck out of Hazou.
Personally, based on the crumbs that Ami has dropped since
(namely: Ami's advice to both Hazou and Mari), I think that
all of Ami's "masks" are in some way the "true" Ami. She seems to consider them
all herself, anyway. But whether that's through natural inclination, mental trauma, magical chakra fuckery, or some combination thereof, I don't know. But I strongly suspect that the "no mask" Ami was just her wearing a mask of what she thought
Hazou would think a "no mask Ami" would be like.
Edit: Also, considering that the Yin/Yang, Mind/Body chakra types exist --as per Enma's slip up --then we could even ponder if Ami has, in some way, damaged her Yin chakra. Since, in canon at least, Yin applies to the mind, we could argue that there's some involvement there
(though I could easily see it being that Ami has an excess of Yin, rather than a deficiency, or damage of some sort). Especially if the Mori bloodline interacts with Yin chakra. And, as a cognitive bloodline, I find it hard to believe that the FS
doesn't interact with Yin chakra in at least
some way.
