This is the plan before the edit.

How do Goketsu clan economy works?

Do civilians that earn money contribute to the Goketsu household budget?

[X] Action Plan: Operation Uplift
wordcount: 255

Review actions by Mari and the clan, etc.

Talk to Tsunade:
  • One million ryo donation, delivered quietly, to her charity.
  • Send someone appropriate(if not Hazo, then Mari, Noburi, or Akane)
  • Schedule a conversation with Tsunade at her convenience.
    • Goketsu Clan is(if they aren't already) matching all Till'n'Fill missions and sending volunteer teachers. Would be great to coordinate this with doctor's visit.
    • Proposal: Develop tool and techniques for civilian doctors
      • Ninja medicine is the most effective in the EN, but unfortunately not available to civilians.
      • Will be harder, but not impossible. Goketsu's secret military project involving only civilians is proof of concept.
    • Advice for Goketsu clinic?

Nagi island expedition:
  • The seal arrays at Nagi Island are a gold mine
  • Goketsu has ability to copy seals. *Don't mention bloodline, how it works, lest Ren strangle us, etc*
  • If Asuma can help get us close enough we can get him a copy of the arrays
  • Second: If Kagome was permitted to learn SC, he would be able to decode Jiraiya's notes much faster. He's already aware of the jutsu's existence. Would Asuma be willing to authorize teaching him?

Contest:
  • Make sure that things get submitted.
  • If Skyslider is flyable, submit it as well.
Engineering:
  • Review projects. See where they are at. (Skyslider, aqueduct, sewer, toilet)
    • Dinner of appreciation for engineers' hard work on Goketsu projects.
    • Aqueduct. If it's at stage 'ready' for punching and clearing land. Do that.
Misc:
  • Prank Noburi

Consolidated section into misc.

Well I don't like it, but if both Mari and Keiko agree that we can have such a talk and as long as Mari and Keiko know what we are going to talk about without any suprises.

Sure.
And done.
[X] An Implosion of Steam

  • Go blow off some steam.
    • Punch/explode some chakra monsters near Konoha. Make it a mission if possible, otherwise go to the Forest of Death to do it.
    • Obviously tell the clan we're doing this, and that we'll back off if things get dangerous.
    • Maybe we can invite Lee and make a competition out of it? Surely chakra monster meat can be worth some food for the Church of Youth to use?
  • Group meeting: Mari, Kagome, Noburi, Akane, Yuno, Haru, Keiko. Security: high.
    • (Confirm with Mari/Keiko whether sharing information about BotG with Yuno is acceptable beforehand.)
    • Introduction:
      • Team Uplift's goal is to dramatically improve the living conditions of everyone in the world. So far, we've been focused on opposing and reshaping our civilization's self-destructive systems. That remains the main priority.
      • But, as several recent events showed, the problem runs deeper: reality itself is fragile. Pain's plan was world-ending. Whatever his intentions were, the fact that a world-altering event on this scale can actually happen is terrifying. For you, it threw into stark relief some of the fundamental truths glimpsed by Sealing.
      • The truth is, deliberate human actions aren't even necessary. Reality is keen on tearing itself apart on its own. The damage from that is often catastrophic, and could be arbitrarily large. Worse still are the things that lurk outside, and occasionally seep through these tears: horrors of unfathomable power and malice, some of which can casually snuff out our entire universe.
      • It's a terrible truth. We're meant to be cowed by it, stuck helpless with fear — the same way we're meant to be resigned to the EN's system of violence. As far as you're concerned, that is merely more of the same: another terrible thing we'll need to eventually fix.
      • And while directly working on it is far above our current pay grade, it doesn't mean we can't gather information.
    • We have a large selection of leads we could pursue, but we should focus on the most salient one: Pain.
      • Points of discussion:
        • Pain/Rinnegan's nature and powers.
        • The ritual's purpose.
        • "The Five, still sealed after a thousand years of sacrifice".
        • The fate of the lost bijuu.
        • The bird summon — an archaeopteryx?
      • Provide Kagome with the detailed description of the ritual site, ask for his analysis.
      • Yuno: Perhaps there's something relevant in Isan's cultural knowledge?
  • Review projects. See where they are at. (Skyslider, aqueduct, sewer, toilet).
  • Timeskip to the end of the contest.

I consolidated the number of scenes. There were some confusion about proof of concept mention to Tsunade.

I made changes in that arena. Let me know if there's criticism, because I don't want to get Hazo executed.

Sure, never thought about asking Keiko.

  • Meet with Asuma (clear/improve with Mari and Kagome):
    • First: The sealing arrays at Nagi are a research goldmine. If Asuma could get us a short visit, we'll be able to get them for Leaf.
      • (Obfuscate the method of copying: request that Hazou, Kagome, and Mari were sent.)
    • Second: If Kagome was permitted to learn SC, he would be able to decode Jiraiya's notes much faster. He's already aware of the jutsu's existence. Would Asuma be willing to authorize teaching him?

If there's anything I can do to convince people to vote for summoning scroll squad let me know.

OK? Overly cautious? Bad? Let me know.

  • Of course it would be a trick that would be available to the Hokage
    • But it would be easier for members of Goketsu
    • In light of that we would like to petition for the porcupine scroll to be assigned to Goketsu

Not sure this is the way to ease ourselves back into Asuma's good graces. Especially since the argument that it'd be most useful in Goketsu hands is undercut by the "of course it would be available to the Hokage." If we were on better terms with Asuma, I'd vote for it in a heartbeat... but as it stands now, I'm not sure that we have the political/personal clout with Asuma to make this viable. I think that if we were to do this, right now, we'd just sour Asuma's personal feelings on us even further.

Not gonna lie, still not crazy with the "let's tackle extra-dimensional beings before we've fully recovered from looking at one of their doors" but... eh. It's in-character, includes punchy-punchy boom booms (that was a joke, I'm actually kinda starting to miss reading about some simple fist-to-face violence, not gonna lie), and has us check up on all the irons we have in the fire.

Fair enough. Hopefully after we deliver the Nagi Island seals he will be more on board

So who wants to do what after Velorien's Update? I'm assuming that we're going to dedicate that update to a heart-to-heart with Akane (provided he's okay with it). In-game, the timeskip to the end of the contest will allow Hazou some time to think about it, and maybe even seek additional advice/perspective from Kagome. But after that, what's on your mind --provided the QMs don't have something specific that they'd like to do, of course.

Personally, I think we should...
  • give Mari the shiny new open-source Yamanka mental-stability jutsu,
  • set up some metal-safety testing so that Hazou doesn't use lead in con sanitation/aqueduct --which is an easy mistake to make, just look at the ancient Romans.
  • And then go spelunking in that one mine, clear it of chakra beasts, clear the surrounding land for a mining town with several thick walls (provided Asuma gives the okay).

Well we have to go to Nagi Island to get Pains sealing arrays

You have to actually edit the original vote out IIRC instead of "[-]"

Forbidden lore and reframing our goals so that everyone in character is clear that our greatest foe is the setting itself. Yes!

Onwards, to Nagi Island!

In my defense, I wasn't voting for any of them, and the one edit I made was to include Keiko in the sanity check.

I mean, I deliberately made a new plan instead of editing my old one. Might've gotten a few more votes that way.
