• Do you count crippled ninja within Konoha's ninja population, i.e. the 1200 Genin/250 Chuunin/50 Jounin?
    • If so, how long does such a crippled ninja tend to live?

How hard would it be to make battle-worthy prosthetics for the "lesser" crippled ninja? The ones only missing a limb or two? Fuuinjutsu is weird and eldritch, but there doesn't really seem to be any hard "limits" to it as a magic system. And while hands are pretty complex biological structures, legs are relatively simple and therefore easier/quicker to pull off. With Noburi's knowledge of anatomy as a resource (it's not like we're trying for anything microscopic like "spirits" or bloodcells, just visible structures that would likely be well documented --thanks to Tsunade --like bones, tendons, and nerves. In a place where chakra pathways are visible and testable --a la Lee --I have a hard time believing that the mundane nervous system isn't at least similarly well known.) We might be able to get some of the crippled "old guard" moving and mission-worthy again. Hell, it might be a wonderful addition into our submissions.

Side note: Depending on how many crippled/retired ninja there are (and the Will of Fire means that Leaf's culture wouldn't abide by smothering the "useless" in their sleep like I could easily see Old-Mist doing), we might want to convince them to serve as teachers and instructors. Get them to take up the "torch" again now that their country needs them. Shouldn't even be too hard, really. A lot of retired American Soldiers reenlisted in the military after the tragedy of 9/11, so there's natural human precedent for it to exist. And Leaf's propaganda machine beats America's propaganda machine by a mile.

Edit: Even if our arm/hand prosthetics can't channel chakra as well or at all, one-handed techniques are still a thing. With effort, it's more than plausible to get crippled ninja back up and running. And if there's anything that a nation's unity in a time of crisis will bring about, it's effort.

If MEW is used with a basalt base, does it create basalt, or still granite as per "usual"?
Granite. It always produces granite, no matter what.

Probably very hard. Presumably Tsunade has done a lot of work on it, yet Hazō has seen no evidence of such things.

(@Velorien , please correct me if I have this wrong.) Actually, one-handed techniques are almost unheard of. Essentially all techniques require two hands. Rasengan, Zephyr's Reach, and Substitution require no hands. I can't think of anything offhand (hah!) that requires one hand.

.

If you mean mechanical contraptions...well...Sand have the technology, maybe. We don't.

Due to family obligations I got a very late start on writing. The update might be out very late tonight but you should expect it to be tomorrow night.

@eaglejarl

Can I reup these questions, to be answered at some point? (I don't know where the QuiNOA are stored.)

assuming a waterproof seal, can you unseal into a light mist? A thick fog? In the path of a water jet? Into a pool of water? A pool of mud?

...

A glass bottle occupies most of a box. A wooden ship, smaller than the interior of the bottle, but larger than its opening, is held within a storage seal. The seal is placed exterior to the bottle, but within the box. What happens when the seal is activated? Does the answer change if the bottle is stoppered?

Do we want to take Noburi on the scroll hunt? He currently isn't super good at combat and it would delay getting him summoning. However he does have all the chakra. What do y'all think

Welcome to the head of the thread, Rando! The whole community has been following along, saying things like "Gadzooks, this person is amazing! They're reading the entire thread at eleventy-bazillion words per minute!" We all hope you'll stick around and play.

I think nobby should prioritize summoning and staring at/dating Setsuko.

We should instead take Harus team on a scroll hunt.

Personally, my prefered method of actually acquiring the scroll is to to drop copious quantities of explosives upon the building the summoner is in. While this will result in a significant amount of collateral damage... well, Rock recently proved that no matter how strong a ninja you are, a building collapsing around you is difficult to handle.

I'm mostly in agreement with that. My current Ideal team comp is Hazō Haru Akane Kagome Snake and Tsunade
I think we need someone good at intelligence-gathering and social manipulations moreso than people good at punching. As Cariyaga says, the murder itself isn't the hard part — just drop a few dozens of 12-SINs on the target while they're sleeping, then fish the Scroll out of the rubble. The hard parts are 1) finding the Summoner, and 2) getting them to a place where the murder wouldn't cause too much collateral damage.

I think we-the-hivemind could handle 2) with some ingenious scheming, but 1) needs an actual in-universe specialist. A Yamanaka would be perfect. Is Agent Black still alive? If yes, could there be something about her in Jiraiya's encrypted notes? If no, perhaps we should just ask Asuma to assign us one.

You guys assumed ideal circumstance when you should be thinking about shit-hit-the-fan team composition.

Get a team to track the target to a suitable location and have a hit squad ready, but this squad should be ready to fight their way outside of a confrontation if necessary.

The target get squashed with 12 stacked SINs and we won't have to hopefully have a battle at all.

I wonder if summoning scrolls have a unique scent? Aburame and Inuzuka could be of help if so.

Tsunade alone would be sufficient to deal with all probable shit-hits-the-fan situations. She's a tier above Naruto in personal power, then a Summoner herself on top of that. She could probably solo the mission provided intel.

Having "nuke them" as Plan A, "hide behind Tsunade" as Plan B, and "run away on Skywalkers" as Plan C seems reasonable to me.

[X] Action plan: Touring the facility
-Ask Orochimaru for a tour of the basement unannounced.
---tell no one you're doing this.
-----when Hazou first sees Orochimaru embrace him with the same hugs Hazou used to give his father while exclaiming "Snuncle!! I've missed you so much! ^_^"

I'm curious if I missed something, but why do we think Tsunade would help us hunt after a scroll? What incentive for her are we including in there? I'd definitely like to scroll hunt, so we could go 4/4, but I don't think taking Tsunade is likely when she's doing her humanitarian thing. And while more people are better, we'll probably need to pay them ourselves, and well, because a Yamanaka or Aburame going with us so that Goketsu can acquire a scroll isn't likely without a carrot. Maybe a deal with a secondary clan where they get priority trade or a free Jutsu from the summoning clan in question?

From what I can tell the current lines of thought are either 'Tsunade totally won't mind breaking her political neutrality again to go possibly murder someone in a naked power grab' or 'well she will mind but it won't take that much bribe money to get her willing to comply' (or, and I hope this isn't actually being thought, 'well it will take that much bribe money but it's okay if we bankrupt the Goketsu as long as we get some extra power on this mission to maybe get our hands on another summon scroll')
