It comes with a terrible price: the constant awareness of alternate timelines in which things went awry. Naturally, this makes the precognition unreliable at best.

For all we know Bear is where the annual Chef Exams are for all aspiring young chefs in the world and the genre shift refers to MfD becoming a cooking duel manga.
I've posted this in the LUD thread, but an interview with Kishimoto says that Naruto was going to be a ramen cooking manga until his editor vetoed it. The fact that protagonist is named after a ramen topping is a legacy of that.

To be fair, MfD was supposed to be a rational story about ninja founding a new village and doing missions. Then it turned into a story about missing-nin and then into a rom com series. Shit happens.

Actually, I was on board with the missing-nin story from the very beginning. It was @eaglejarl who was particularly excited about the village story, and then you guys made the decision for us with your choice of Leaf and Mist.

I mean, technically we might have managed to survive if we had thrown ourselves at Zabuza's merc-- ahahahah.

Funny joke, that.

Damn, I forgot to point out that we should point out that Hazou didn't want to leave the swamp but only went along because Keiko and Noburi wanted to. Hazou was never a tool for Mari, they are just partners in crime.

e:
For long seconds, Hazou looked uncertainly at Inoue before turning to his team. "Mori, Wakahisa, what do you say? Personally, I think we should accept the memory wipe and stay with Swamp. All of us being together and staying in this swamp are the biggest things going for us right now, and I want to stick to Shikigami-sensei's plan, but I won't make that decision for you. This might end up being your only decent shot at leaving before Mist or Leaf stomps us down. If both of you want to go with Inoue-sensei, I'll go with you."

It's something that Hazou is capable of bringing up on his own if it becomes relevant.

I think that, honestly, we need to start trusting Hazou more to come up with arguments for stuff like this.

Spoonfeeding him everything to say in plan format eats a lot of words and probably isn't that fun to write.

Two years later and I'm still salty about the idea.

Mist to Leaf, fuck my life. Why couldn't we have gone Snow to *insert remote island in the middle of fuckall nowhere*?

Alright. I have no idea what kind of technique it would be... but Hazou's clear weakness is that his chakra reserves are shit. He's got ways to close in (underground, under cover of macerators, etc.), he's got ranged options (macerators), etc., but his staying power is shit.

If Jiraiya could provide anything to help with that, it'd be greeaaaaat.

@eaglejarl Is this an acceptable interpretation of the current vote? My thought is that, as-per Hazou's current characterization, he might not come up with what actually happened to Mari on his own, but upon sharing the discussion he had with Mari with Noburi and Keiko, they might be able to put it together, together.
Sure, I can do that. Thanks for the idea.

Goddammit, @OliWhail ! How often do I have to tell you not to share your frigging passwords to the QM docs?!

Three years, actually. And yeah, I'm a little sad as well. Still, I like where it ended up.

Can anyone remind me if the Chakra Dragonfly Dust was particularly lethal or impairing beyond the short term?

The infusion of seals does not appear to register. Activation, or at least some element of the activation process, does.

HELLO SHIKAKU NARA!

HERE IS A THING I WOULD LIKE TO DO:

Boost the range on these bad boys, and we will have mitigated our anti-skywalker problem. Awesome!

@eaglejarl @OliWhail @Velorien (but mostly Vel, as the authority of all things Keiko)

We have done full contact spars with Keiko in the past, yes? She does not freak out when we hit her in a spar, right? This is not a thing Hazou would expect to happen, if they were matched up in the tournament?
