Not only did I believe the post the entire way through (oh, wow, that's awful. Oh, didn't realize Oli was poly, but I suppose it is pretty common among the rational community. Golly, getting optioned for a movie? I thought the process worked a little differently from described, but what do I know, I'm not the one whose novel is getting movie-fied), I read some of the comments that were joking about it, completely missed the reason they weren't taking it seriously, was viscerally offended by how lightly they were treating the situation, and started typing up an indignant response to those people. Only once I was partway through a scathing comment about how much YOU would like to have an alien scalpel stuck in your spine did I parse the details of what the replies were saying and remember that, for some reason, there exists a holiday whose sole purpose is deception and trickery.

Got me good, Eaglejarl. Now, I am going to go to bed, since past midnight I apparently lack all ability to be discerning. I will probably laugh about this in the morning.
 
I shoulda caught it when Trump got mentioned, but strangely enough the thought of all those dogs living in one studio apartment is what ticked me off.. rather then the spine tentacles and the.. literally the rest of it.

@eaglejarl, for what it's worth, I glanced at the title, grasped its implications, was momentarily worried, then made a connection with your previous April Fools joke and realized what it is even before reading the post. That was very good execution, but I think you need more variance there.

Oh man, I'm reading this just after I woke up and didn't realise it was April Fools - I was really sad until I got to the "golf with Trump" part and was like "hey, wait a minute..."
