The chapter a bit of a mess too. No discussion or sanity check of Hazō's plan. There appears to be no worked out predefined tactic plan for defending the base, which would have us chucking out banshee seal and activating banshee slayers at the first opportunity.

It feels rushed.

Yeah, that is what I commented on earlier as well. Would have prefered more input IC from the other Leaf dudes.

For the other point, any Mist ninja that dies now is - in my opinion - just cashing in on their Darwin Awards. We have been very obvious that we have a sealmaster, both via the fortress and the deployed explosives and the fact that we threw up explosives once every 30/60 mins. If anyone attacks us while knowing this and then obstructs vision through mist is really just being dumb.

But that's the worst case anyway, we are just discussing hypotheticals since the chapter hasn't even dropped yet.

Uh, the Kagome screwup was DEFINITELY our fault. What led up to it still happened, and we still fucked up. There's also threatening Kabuto, going all in at Hot Springs...

This sounds like we are going to have to navigate Mist/International law loopholes. Joy.

Meh, the Kagome one was also his fault we just gave away an important secret. Also the Hot spring one was in Chapter 64+33 is Chapter 97 which is the chapter we actually left Leaf. I stick by my simple 'Roughly every 33 chapter we get screwed' rule.

Spilling the Mist Drain secret was our fault, even if you can argue that there was a pretty huge disconnect between what players knew about OPSEC and what QMs expected us to know about OPSEC.
Him getting away with murder even though he has like 1 Deception roll and we had examples of dice being used within the group was not our fault however.

Yeah, this is what I was getting at.
I mean, do you think voters *won't* rise up in arms if an unfavorable result happens in story from the rushed and misinformed action plan which was put together? You have more faith in our players than I do.
I definitely have that much faith in our players.

So, if we all survive this, we should totally start selling "Locally sourced chakra" in the form of having Noburi drain the tied up mist nin for the remainder of the exam.

Hazou: Got the pre-tournament jitters? Want a quick pick me up? Just feeling down?
Noburi: You, my friend need Goketsu Brand Water. It'll fill up your chakra coils and sate your thirst.
Hazou: And it's 100% organic and locally sourced! We only supply you with the finest chakra, taken straight from grass-fed, free-range, mist genin.

Keiko: Goketsu Corp terms and conditions apply. Goketsu is not liable for any side-effects or injuries which may include, but are not limited to, flatulence, diarrhea, cramps, spontaneous combustion, sudden awareness of your own mortality, and cramps.

I count them as mistakes. The QM were giving us reprieve after we managed to convince them.

Well going to agree to disagree. Pretty sure I'll just upset people/get upset

Yeah those where stressful but catastrophic? No way we got through all of them fine

I won't be upset. If we wanted more time could have voted lore update. If we get screwed because we didn't switch to earbuster and distribute banshee slayers I will be upset

Pretty sure the definition of a catastrophe is gut punch out of nowhere, mods getting called in, horde of people who only read showing up to voice their opinion to stop reading the quest ever again, etc, etc, etc.

In one other quest I am extensively playing never really have horde of readers coming to voice their opinion to not ever read again, even though catastrophic mistakes get made frequently enough.

The events in question got retconned, yes, but it's still a catastrophe that happened and the raw emotion didn't really go away.

Yes they happened but they didn't have any huge long term effects. So stressful but not catastrophic. The quest really hasn't had any setbacks with huge consequences

On the flipside: People show more emotion here because they care more and are attached to all of the characters.

The long term effects show up in how players' psyche, assumptions, and how they approach plans.

Which you seemed to chaff against, at time.

Everyone put your shorts back on. No one's dying this update. Well, no one you care about.

I recall that we care about Mist nin kids getting squashed, who are our enemies.

You ninja'd this in on me.

"People only show up to bitch and moan and complain about how unfair the QMs are and how we screwed them because they care more and are attached to all the characters." Yeah, because that always promotes positive feelings of gratitude, affection, and unicorn-pure love.

I didn't even notice faflec getting temp banned but someone pointed out a new user named OilWhale (that never got to post however) so there is probably a connection - but that's just speculation.
This fucking raises my hackles. I feel like any action taken by the pseudo-QM account would have been in jest, without malicious intent, particularly if it's coming from someone who is a longtime participant in the thread.
Not only that, it would have likely ran its course in the matter of a day or two
and I really want to instigate something

Because they had the gall to attack one of ours

Grrrrrrrr

I didn't say it is a healthy way of expressing their emotions, just offering a theory as to why this happen(ed). I.e. if people didn't care they wouldn't say anything and move on, YMMV if that is better or not.

E: FWIW, I am not a writer so I am just guessing that if you can make readers feel anything at all, it looks more like a good thing from the outside than if you could not.

I have to say, your loyalty is inspiring, but I'm pretty sure it was an automatic sockpuppet-detector, and will be resolved sooner than later.
