The omake @OliWhail suggested: Inazao shipping after the results of last chapter. The omake includes Inoichi with a yamaka mind technique (assume he's using a different/better version then ino, hence why he gets to join the thread).
Basically, Inoichi is mad at hazou after he (and Ino) take the prank more seriously than it was intended, but after encountering the thread and fighting his way past memetic hazards, he comes to the conclusion that Hazou is ninja with a mental manipulation bloodline, and wants to tie that into his clan, and while he wouldn't force anything, well, if Hazou and Ino like each other why should he deny it.
Most of this bar the beginning is subject to change, as I'm still in the "throw ideas at the wall and hope they stick" stage.

THREAD PSA:
As EJ said in Discord, moving means he's not gonna have time to spare for an update. In light of this, I am taking suggestions for a canon interlude. If you have an idea, feel free to post it in-thread or to PM me.
Is there any other colour you could use for the things you normally write in bright yellow? They're illegible against the white background I have for the site, and highlighting is clumsy when I'm on mobile.

I found out about this quest from reading Team Anko, and I think started my lurking spree right around when there were 30-ish posts?
If there was something I could add to the discussion I would, but...I don't really have much to say. I suck at planning, and for voting...I don't really have an excuse.

...And while I'm typing this out, I want to say thank you. To the QMs for taking time out of their day to write such a great story, and the players, who help plan and make the story.

Now back to lurking.
We do have a fine tradition of snarky comments which could always use more contributors. Also screaming (inc. in Kagome).

In general terms, it's striking how many responses say people aren't posting because of how competent the regulars appear. Which I guess is highly complimentary to the thread on the one hand, but on the other... you guys could have been the ones to nip the Kōta controversy in the bud, or intercept YOUTHSUITGate, or prevent Hazō from giving flowers to the impressionable young heir of one of Leaf's scariest clans based on Mari's advice. Planning and analysis are great, but simple voices of common sense, or even questions about things that others assume to be obvious, might do wonders for Hazō's survivability.

To be fair, the hivemind has been pretty decent about not making the same mistake twice. The last hasn't even been resolved yet, so we might be able to turn that potential problem into a positive outcome.

Of course, I'd like for more people to be involved so long as they actually learned to contribute. I'd rather not have a bunch of people show up and disregard all of our established protocols simply by virtue of numbers. It is a big time commitment and a lot of people are content with 'good enough' when it comes to free entertainment like this. I'll admit that I do this on some other quests simply because I enjoy reading more than trying to submerge myself in such entrenched and different voting systems.

He grumped a lot; not because the missions bothered him -- they did, but not as much as he let on -- but because her laughs had gotten rare as plums in fall since poppa died and the bills started piling up.
OH MY GOD.

HAZOU IS EMO BECAUSE HE LEARNED TO ASSOCIATE BEING EMO WITH MAKING MOMMA HAPPY.

POOR SWEET MURDER CHILD CAN I PLEASE HUG YOU

You know, part of me is wondering if it should be part of standard player operating procedure to ignore anything from the QMs that isn't a story update or direct answers to questions we ask.

They're too good at making cryptic comments with no actual information other than to induce panic.

Aw come on, what would be the fun in not panicking? :p

(Anything in particular prompted this thought?)

Actually, comments that aren't based on any real information are pretty rare. It's just that said information can be conveyed in so many different incomplete, subversive or misleading ways...

Nooooo!

@Velorien, a leader has arisen to unite the serfs minions players! We must suppress zir quickly before the heresy spreads!

Plus, ignoring the QMs would be boring, and might discourage them from producing sweet sweet content.

Yes! To Hatth you will listen, yes? [/yoda]
