  • Explicitly having Hazō use the "revenge on Kakashi's killer" angle while talking to his old summons.
  • Explicitly acknowledge that revealing Mari's mass-Genjutsu ability in front of Orochimaru is a massive sacrifice (because Mari would care a lot about this and Hazō has historically been really bad about considering OPSEC in situations like this)
I don't care about any specific wording, but I would really like for these to be included in some form. Especially that second one, as it is unintuitive to Hazōpilot and would should real character growth.

Do we think Akatsuki could detect us from X00m underground? We could totally place an air-affecting rune directly below the rift st. it looked like a sealing failure at the rift, and really fuck with Sasori's research while making it impossible to touch the rune for weeks or months.

In the end, the more I think about use cases where we'd want to have a Superchiller ready, the less marginal improvement in outcomes it seems to represent. Nuking the site if our team loses is something we can do, but due to the nature of that scenario our odds of turning it into a victory are still precipitously low, while the rather deadly risks of something going wrong elsewhere (bad assumptions about the test run, being unable to hide it during prep, etc.) remain undeterred. It probably maximizes outcomes, on the margin, to refrain.

Suggest adding the following:
  • Additionally, infuse and activate a Force Dome above the test site to contain any of the Superchiller AoE that "spills" out. In case it's larger than expected.

After this battle, we're going to raise medicine up to get bio sealing, right? (And be able to make a chakra lake rune, hopefully.) So we can make sure it's all on the level ASAP?

Per Paper's instructions on Discord I am petitioning in thread to increase the number of shots from 3 in the RER 1.0/2.0, to 3 for the 1.0 and 5 for the 2.0

My rationale: The increase in the TN is 20% and the increase in the range is 60% so an increase in shot number by 66% is very similar in vibe, this is offset by the rune being Hard instead of Easy and using 5x the substrate. Requiring Tsunade to personally drag it around. Truely a pain.

Sorry this should be "up to 6 FP" we can buy to 6, not 6 total. These rules sure are finicky, huh? I think Hazou has 3 rn, so he can buy 3.

EDIT: Assuming the sheet is correct (it is often out of date) Hazou has 4 FP and can purchase 2.

@FaintlySorcerous Hazou needs lots of FP to grind veterancy for RER 2.0, at least one invoke and possibly as many as 3. So I suggest buying up to 6 FP

  • Cannai:
    • Summon him with Mild overcharge (immediately Noburi-treated) once you've recovered.
      • If successful, have him meet the team.
    • Reverse-summon to visit Dogs that might agree to join the Riftwar. (Optimize with the team, ask Cannai for advice.)
      • Be respectful. Be mindful we're nothing like Kakashi.
        • That said, we're devoted to Dog: we traveled to Arachnid, slayed a Dragon, and ran messages despite massive responsibilities on the Human Path. We need a few hours of their time - no more.
      • Emphasize the fight's importance.
      • With Kakashi's old Summons, raise the vengeance angle.
      • Accept any refusals gracefully.
  • Discuss ideas for sourcing chakra with the team and later, if they approve, Orochimaru.
    • Context: We'll need oceans of chakra for Bosses, Zoo Rush, runes, and Sannin SCs.
      • Optimally, 100-200 chuunin-level batteries.
      • Every ninja we pull from Leaf increases the likelihood the Akatsuki are forewarned.
      • Recruit Moon's ninja. Hidan ransacked their village. If we explain our anti-Akatsuki mission, and pay tons of gold, would they assist?
        • Or would they fear AMITY more than they hate the Akatsuki?
        • Are there enough survivors?
    • Recruit Orochimaru's cultists. Orochimaru/Endo might know where their groups are; they may be fairly populous...
    • Raid a minor village (Tea/Moon/Noodle) en-route to O'Uzu.
      • Plan:
        • Trap it under Force Domes, Iron Earth, and Air-Leadeners.
        • Commence mass SC assault via Tsunade, Orochimaru, Mari.
        • Maris freeze targets via TLitF (check with her before sharing that), Orochimarus paralyze them, Noburi drains to unconsciousness.
        • Transport them in a net suspended between Tsunade's SCs.
      • It's extreme and it'll have lasting geopolitical consequences, but it significantly boosts our chances.
        • If we lose, there's no future anyway.
        • Is letting the kidnapped ninja go afterwards feasible? They'd be unconscious; wouldn't see runes.
          • Tsunade'll be there to hopefully prevent Orochimaru from Orochimaruing them.
    • Any other ideas?
  • Grind runic veterancy whenever possible:
    • Prioritize RER2. Invoke/Reroll/Timeladder per Hazou's preferences.
    • Secondary priorities: Ninja Radar, Force Dome. Target: reliable double-timeladdered infusion.
    • If we deplete our chakra, send Noburi and a Hazou SC to resupply from Orochimaru.
  • Misc:
    • If possible, test how much earth Force Dome's chakra pillar pierces.

Plan updates. @_The_Bomb's proposed changes are in, we're buying up to 6 FP, and some other fiddly bits with the Dogs.
 
By the way, @Sir Stompy, can you do some rough calculations to justify the "we need 50k CP" claim, so I can link to it in the plan and so that Hazou isn't left gaping like a fish if Oro asks him to show his homework?

Off the top of my head, we'd need chakra for:
  • Earthshaping and runic infusions.
  • Boss Summons of Snakes, Slugs, Toads, and Dogs.
    • For the maximum estimate, assume Aika/Neji/Ruri would be able to summon bosses as well.
  • Rank-and-file summons.
  • The Sannin, Mari, and Hazou mass-casting SC.
  • Refilling the SCs.
... Actually, are you sure 50k CP is enough? Suppose the Sannin + Mari have SC 40, CR 50, Resolve 50 (Mari probably has less CR and more Resolve, but whatever). Each can intake ~40 SC hours per day. Orochimaru said not to overdo it with clones, so let's assume they and Mari only summon 20 SC each. That's 3*(20*500 + 150 + 25*20) = ~32k already. ... Okay that's clearly too much, bump it down to 10 clones per caster, for 17k?

Runes... Do we know how much chakra infusing our runes costs? The PS rules say it's decided on an ad-hoc basis for each rune, but Known Seals & Runes document doesn't seem to list chakra costs, and I don't see that information in runic research logs either. Is there a WoG buried somewhere in the thread or on Discord about it?

Then there's ~600*6 + 5000 = 8600 for all the S-rank summons... Wait. Can we not decrease the cost of Noburi's summons by having his SC summon them? I think I vaguely recall a ruling that Snowflake could summon if Kei gave her her blood...

SCs can't Summon because you need to bleed to Summon.

I'd like this vote to tie. I'm not going to be awake near the close of voting (~6 hours from now). This vote currently ties it. I'm going to update this vote before I go to bed to maintain the tie as best I can and encourage others to do the same.

Both our plans are pretty similar and while I don't want to play with EM runes, I'm also perfectly happy to leave the decision to Pilot as opposed to the players making a definitive call.

The Mari thing isn't quite as explicit as I would like "check with her before sharing that" versus "acknowledge it'd massively suck revealing that," is that any chance you could change it? WC is the same.

Though if you do get a spare word somewhere, changing "Mari freezes targets" to "Mari mass-freezes targets" would add some clarity.
