Fusion power is kind of stepping on Shere Khan's toes. It might be better to do Campaign for Flubber, and just use Flubber power instead, as while Fusion is good Flubber is better, as soon as we can convince people we won't blow up Utah. It also has the advantage of unlocking the rest of the Flubber stuff like antigravity and weather, where Fusion presumably only leads to better fusion or fusion weapons, which would freak the government out a lot.
Either that or Normbot decentralization. I just watched the P&f 2nd Dimension movie, and avoiding a single point of failure like Doof 2.0 had would be useful, to say the least.

I don't think we should look into powerful Occult stuff like Alchemy or the recruit option until we have an actual Occult stat. Hopefully we'll get an Occult stat next turn.

While fair, if Janna is available she has a good shot at it. Occult 10 plus Felldrake's 12 plus Non-Practicing +5 plus an additional 20% for loyalty, which is about +5, making 32, which on a DC75 is hard but not out of the question.

Also, any Intrigue action that we take through the Dickens Detective Agency will have a hero unit already assigned on it, meaning we can't use our hero units on that action...
It also means it doesnt take a hero. So more personal actions for them.
We should decentralize them after updating them. If not it would raise their DC.
I dont see anything about that on the action info.

Common sense. Decentralizing them means we are separating them into groups with different control center so it would be reasonable to assume that updating them will be harder as we have to update them one by one. That's why a virus won't collapse our entire Normbots if it gets in as it would need to upload them to multiple different control center to get them all.

Bluntly, that isn't common sense. First we have been consistently warned of negative outcomes, secondly the action describes itself as "linked up to a few distinct hubs". We are still using a hub system, just turning it from one to a few. This makes a virus harder because it has to crack multiple networks. It doesnt make upgrades that much harder because there isnt much difference between upgrading one machine and updating five.

That reminds me if we could probably hop over to the 2nd Dimension and "borrow" (read steal) cyborg Perry

Probably not.

Inators cannot affect the flow of time, exert influence outside Earth's atmosphere, or deal with interplanetary or interdimensional travel.

This seems to imply if we get dimensional hopping a different way (I've heard something about Star having some fancy scissors?) It would be allowed, but not easily.

Hmm....true enough, true enough.

Well, that is inside Learning action anyways and we still had a lot of actions that we need to do beside it. Doom is the only one that is pissed at us right now and I don't think he is capable of making a virus strong enough to infect the entire Normbots without directly accessing the main control panel.

Evelyn seems want to make amends and Toffee is more likely to just sent monster assasin our way.

I think surveying the Galfed ship and possibly research human genetics would be good actions to take. It might be a good idea to put back our AI research so we can have Wendy Wonder work on our AI, not entirely sure on that.

To be continued in Interlude: You're Going Down!

... well, this will be entertaining.

but two were nothing but enthusiastic.

... suspicious. Very suspicious.

Something else interesting has happened… to be continued in Interlude: Rotate in with the Board of Selectmen

Hmm...

... ya know, there's probably better heroes to equip them to... but a flying Khan is too funny to pass up. Or a flying Norm. Or a flying Goofy...

Something that may help when the time comes... or may wreck our shit. Huh.

This includes various temples of his, potential recruits for a supernatural army, and the suspected resting places of various items of magical power. He's warned that wandering into any of these places without sending someone versed in magic is probably a terrible idea.

I mean... unless he put all those "recruits" in some sort of magical stasis, they're probably all dead. And, even if he did, a few of them were probably accidentally freed over the years.

Castle Doofhawk DC slightly reduced!

... even a -10 to the DC would be fine by me.

Alonso Hawk has been completely befuddled!
Judge Doom takes a -10 to all Intrigue actions for the next few turns, plus an additional -15 to intrigue against you!
Judge Doom has delayed his decision on whether to try and replace Hawk with someone better.

... heh. Though, Doom is thinking about giving Hawk the boot, so we may only have a few more chances to mess with Doom's operation.

Dinosaur Farming action unlocked! Dinosaur Entertainment action unlocked! Domesticate Large Herbivores action unlocked! Dinosaur Cavalry action unlocked! Environmental Adaptations action unlocked!

Public opinion moderately increased!
Dinosaur Cavalry DC lowered!

Well, this ought to be fun.

All future combat AI production will have adaptive combat protocols.
Understanding of AI increased!
Research AI DC and Research AI Dopplegangers (AI) DC decreased!

Well, that's good. Also, that means that all of our future Norm bots will have that automatically, right?

We're getting something very special prepared for this. It'll take us a little while to get prepped up, so this interlude may take some time to come out, but we hope it'll be worth the wait.

Oh, yes please!

To be continued in Interlude: You Can Cleave Something Together...

... for some reason, I suspect Doof to once again shout "Curse you, Janna the Teenage Girl!"

cards!
Charlotte Dickens-Johnson added to your hero cards!
Hire the Dickens Detective Agency has been added to your personal actions! By hiring the Dickenses, you will lose some Income but, in return, gain an extra Intrigue action for the turn and a skilled Intrigue hero to do it for you. For now, the hero will only perform that one action before leaving again. If you hire the Dickenses a lot, or manage enough of a rapport with them, they might eventually choose to stay on in a more permanent fashion!

Ooo! Now isn't this interesting. An extra Intrigue action that only costs a bit of our "permanently in flux" income. Also, we already know that Phoebe has three Intrigue pips, so the Commodore, as he has been in the mystery solving game for years, should have an even higher Intrigue stat. Maybe one that matches, if not exceeds, even Russ'.

Wendy Wower has been added to your Rolodex!

She may be a good recruit... but, I seriously suggest that we recruit Kitsune first. We already have three learning heroes, four if we get Stanley next turn, and we kinda need better Diplo and Occult heroes, which Kitsune is both.

As seen in: Doctor to Doctor (Canon)

Personal actions relating to Doof's own hangups and mental issues are now (very slightly) more likely to go well.

Yay!

Lizzy gains a small loyalty boost now that she has a real friend in Doofania!
Janna's mental health is now slightly better than it was before!
Lizzy gains 2 Diplomacy!

So Lizzy not has -2 Diplo when going on Quests! Woopie!

In a different dimension, Doof would totally be a character in SVTFOE. Huh. Thinking about it, he's practically a character in the show in this universe. I wonder how canon Star would react to the Villain Victorious Timeline? I wish we had a red eye gem to invade canon SVTFOE. That would be funny.

I mean... someone could always write an o.ake about canon!Star popping up in the quest, even if such an omake would be super non-canoical.

Well, You're Going Down is a Phineas and Ferb song.

Maybe that means something?
and....You're Going Down? I know who that sounds like...Nice to see old Pencil Neck. Hopefully, she'll be looking into an internship with some negotiation.

I mean, both of Tobe's traits have names that have nothing to do with him. I don't think he's ever said "And Our Battle Will Be Legendary" in the show, though I could be wrong, and "Nema Nema, Oh My Nema, Nema Nema" is based on one of Doof's and Perry's songs. So it's entirely possible that it's just a reference, and doesn't have anything to do with Phineas, Ferb, Cadance, or any other canon P&F character.

Well, on the bright side, we now know that getting Hego to manage Bueno Nacho decreases the DC. So, if we ever want to get serious about expanding the chain or something, that's the way to go.

... should I say "Aha! I knew it all along!"?

Oo, extra Intrigue with the possibility of an additional hero unit? Sign me up!

Yeah, it's basically a way for us to get the "find out what's happening in -blank-" actions done while we're super busy with other things.

Oh shit they've been moled, and not in a good way. :(

Hmmm... that means we must send TECHNOR THE MECHANICAL MAN to psychoanalyze them and see who's really an honest member, and those who aren't.

"Cleave" more likely refers to the finale. The "whisper spell" that destroyed the Realm of Magic included the line "cleave the magic."

But... then why is Toffee around? Toffee was pretty dead before the last season, much less the finale episode. Then again, it could just be a neat reference.

The cleaved thing is probably a reffference to the whole cleaved wand thing.

Remember? Wand got split in half in canon star and there was this whole big thing about it.

Though, that's equally possible.

I'd honestly like to put her ahead of Kitsune. She's an AI specialty and is more clearly in a position where I think she would be amiable to hiring. Even if she wants to continue the show, we can offer her a much better stage to work on. We have toons. Kids love toons!

I mean... but will we really use her for anything? I mean... the best thing we could actually use her for would probably be the wasteland quest and, as we're almost certainly going to research the replica AI next turn, doing general AI research. Which will quickly be replaced by whatever new shiny research action we see. I mean... at the end of the day, hiring her may help our AI research... but we're already reaching the limits of what we can already research when it comes to AIs.

I'd be willing to recruit her immediately after Kitsune, just sin case we do need her. Though, recruiting her does come with it's own issues, as doing so may piss Trengrove off. And as he does control a company that's a part of the Zaibatsu, that means that we may end up pissing off Callaghan. Or, at least, attracting his attention. So we should probably put off recruiting her until we either make contact with Zaibatsu, or we buy out Trevor's company so his complaints end up falling on uncaring ears.

Also, any Intrigue action that we take through the Dickens Detective Agency will have a hero unit already assigned on it, meaning we can't use our hero units on that action...

Yeah, but, as one of those heroes is the Commodore, he should have a pretty high Intrigue score, so it shouldn't matter much.

Regarding Dicken Family, remember that they also use money. Should we even use them when we are saving up for the auction? I think we only need to use them when we have our hands full of urgent Intrigue actions, or when we don't want someone to be tracing the investigation back to us.

I mean... we already have set aside money for the auction. There's no reason to worry about losing said money, as, if we're forced to spend it on hiring the Dickens family, something has gone horrible wrong with our income. Plus, we might never get a chance to save up more money for the auction, so penny pinching at the moment may actually come back to hurt us later on.

We should absolutely get Wendy as soon as we can though unfortunately that might mean going another turn without giving Goofy a break

Eh, I suggest getting Kitsune first. Besides, if we recruit her, and she has decent Diplo like ot seems she does, she can easily replace Goofy on any future recruitment rolls unless we desperately need someone on our Occult action.

"We rotate out with the board of selectmen."
— Phineas about he and Ferb's position in the Danville city council[src]
That was spoken in a dream sequence, but presumably it's still a thing outside it.

... okay. So, P&F may be the two excited board members. Huh.

Hmmm Wendy Wower is an AI specialist.

It might be worth it to hire her on and get her to work on getting our AI up to snuff

Yeah, though, as I've already stated, we should probably get Kitsune first... and probably reach our tp the Zaibatsu first as well. Just to cover all our bases. And, again, after Kitsune, I'd be perfectly happy to recruit Wendy.

I'd like to try a quest this turn - we have a glut of heroes. Since I want to give Temujin a steed, perhaps One Man's Trash instead? We do need to check for threats on our border, after all.

I mean... I say we should hold off on doing that, as we need: A Generalist leader like Coyote or overclocked Technor; A high stat Learning hero, preferably one with a bonus towards AIs; A very high Intrigue hero; And our best Diplo hero; while also, hopefully, having our best Martially skilled hero joining the team.

See, while this is using a small bit of info from the docs, which MIH may or may not use, not only can we try to reprogram AUTO... the bots outside of the Axiom that work for AUTO will probably try to drag any "pure human"(read: Non-Super and, probably, non-magical humans) into the Axiom so they become passengers. While this could get us an in... it would also limit the team to being all "pure humans". Anywho, reasoning for why we need highly skilled heroes:

Generalist: As the team lead they'll be the main hero who'll boost our rolls.
Learning: If we want to reprogram AUTO and/or the other AIs on the Axiom, while also hacking the Axiom's systems.
Intrigue: So we can sneak around the Axiom, evading guard bots.
Martial: To kill/destroy those guard bots if they find us.
Diplo: To convince the captain, the passengers, and possibly the "rogue robots", if there are any left, to help us defeat AUTO.

... and this was a wall of text. Like... wow.

I don't want to take both of those on the same turn, as Jumba is our best hero unit for both. I'd rather do one of the two (probably human genetics, but I could be persuaded; maybe to galfed or one of the dino votes if they're higher DC than I thought and Lovemuffin can't do them) and then have Von Drake on the other action doing robo doppelganger or fusion.

Compared to straight vegetables and other plants meat is actually super inefficient. Which sucks but we're probably better off leaving dino-meat has a luxury product.
While this is true, not all land is suitable for the production of edible plants. Said land can, however, serve perfectly well in the production of meat.

Yeah what the guy above me said. And in general a lot of the "all meat is bad!" stances are exaggerated by people who don't necessarily have any experience in agriculture. Cows specifically are carbon heavy because they produce methane gas farts as part of their digestive process. Seriously, something like feeding them seaweed to reduce their flatulence decrease emissions by over half.

And to expand on Forgothrax's point look at Doofs territory. Utah, Wyoming and Half of Colorodo--specifically the mountainous half. Wyoming is good "breadbasket" land but Utah and our half of Colorodo is marginal land that is not gonna grow crops. Well, at least not without essentially completely getting rid of the existing topography and replacing it. And that would personally make me sad--desert and mountain biomes are valid! But a lot of that "not suited for crop" land can be turned into meat and protein calories with goats grazing on the mountainslopes, or other herd animals.

That's true. I personally think that Galfed is more important. I think it would be good to have Von Drake work on the Robo Doppelganger AI.

Even if we only get Wendy Wonder for a turn so she can Upgrade AI, she seems like someone who could help teach our workers. Workers like Goofy, Genghis Khan, ect.

Hey is it just me or have we never used Genghis's 'Atomic Genes' trait to make him do two national actions? It could be useful for a Martial actions right?

Remember, the GalFed ship has a mostly-intact Space-tier lab in it. I'm hoping that'll decrease DCs across the board.

Spreading our Heroes thinner to cover more actions is counterintuitive, as we have many more heroes than actions. It might be useful if, say, we wanted Khan on a quest but also wanted him on a Martial action, but it's more niche than it appears.

First off, I just want to say: FUCK YEAH I support getting Temujin Utahraptor cavalry! Our land eagle horse archers shall conquer restore order to the great plains!

@Made in Heaven If next turn we take both the dino cavalry and get Temujin a steed actions, will he get a dinosaur? Or will we have to wait another turn?

A: Yes, they do, and they're pretty much a different type of Toon, only they're usually focused around entertainment in a different way than slapstick comedy. They are still actors, just ones that have really flashy special effects, so [insert shonen protagonist here] is actually no stronger than your average wrestler. Moreover, they won't appear in the quest and they won't be available for recruitment so as to keep the focus on things that are really relevant.
Guessing we won't be stopping in Japan on the way to Xanadu then? :p

Anyways, a more serious question about the state of world: How capable is the US Government of doing stuff in General? Like, if one King openly tried to not only declare independence but overthrow the republic (which I am NOT advocating doing), what sort of response would the POTUS actually be able to muster?

Speaking of PR, that moderate public opinion boost might help our rather concerning low value there as well.
Where are you able to see the value of our public opinion? I can't seem to find these stats.

Hey is it just me or have we never used Genghis's 'Atomic Genes' trait to make him do two national actions? It could be useful for a Martial actions right?
We haven't, no. We have a bunch of second string martial heroes we can use, so even if they aren't as good as 200% Khan (2/3 of 300%), they're good enough to do second tier martial actions while we have khan focus on using his entire score to guarantee a good result on the main action. Remember that a hero only has to be 1/3 as good as khan in order to be better paired with him than for him to take two actions.

Ye Olde Magick
A little omake about something that may or may not have happened in New York...

Ye Olde Magick

Maxim Horvath was old.

Not quite the oldest living man on Earth, for the pursuit of life everlasting had always been a popular activity among those trained in the ways of the arcane, but even discounting the decades that he had spent sealed inside various magical prisons like the Grimhold there were perhaps half a dozen spellcasters across the world that could consider themselves his elders.

The slow passage of the years had slowly shaped his perspective and given him a detached attitude. The ennui of immortality, in Merlin's words. The old man had complained often enough about his own longevity, in those distant years in which he had trained Horvath and the others in the basics of the craft, but only in the last couple of centuries had Horvath managed to truly understand the lesson of his once master.

It was hard to rouse his emotions these days. Balthazar may have called him a cold hearted snake whenever their paths crossed, but the truth was that the struggle against his former friend was one of very few things that had managed to get his blood pumping in decades.

And now Balthazar was gone, turned by his own hand into a new living prison for Morgana's spirit and sealed within the deepest layer of the Grimhold. Even the cold, shriveled thing in Horvath's chest had felt a pang of loss that day, first when Blake had failed to rescue Veronica and then when he had grimly decided to replace her as Morgana's final custodian.

What terrible thing was friendship, that even losing the ghost of one had been enough to make Horvath drop his guard.

He had woken up hours later to find that the Stutler boy had used the time wisely. His cane, thoroughly broken. The other talismans he had taken, likewise. Merlin's dragon ring, gone. Same with the Grimhold.

Repairing his tool had been an exercise in utter frustration with no small amount of danger. A millennium was a long time to accumulate enemies and he had been all but defenseless without his magic, so he had needed to act slowly, carefully...

And by the time he had been ready to resume the hunt, he had found that Stutler had vanished without a trace.

He had left New York. Of that much, Horvath was certain and more than that he could not say.

In the last year, something had caused great and ancient powers to awaken, causing veritable tidal waves in the ocean of magic that had yet to settle. With such instability, his own magic simply wasn't enough to pierce the veil that Stutler had raised to obscure his presence.

He would have to be found with purely mundane means.

And that... was easier said than done, because spending most of a century imprisoned had left him with few of those. He had had a small fortune in savings and investments when Balthazar had first defeated him, but without him around to manage it, things had turned sour in 1929.

He wasn't quite penniless, but he certainly didn't have the resources to launch a large scale manhunt. He had no friends whatsoever and no obvious allies now that he had sacrificed that sad excuse of a Morganian. That left him with precious few options and none of them particularly palatable, but the whisper of a rumour in the Magus Bazaar had put him in the track of something.

Not quite a friend, not quite a foe. An old, old acquaintance with a reputation to match his own. They had briefly done business, profited from the partnership and then moved on without the betrayal they had both expected, much to their mutual surprise.

He could work with that.

Thus, he had walked from his residence to Gramercy Park, buzzed the entryphone of a gated townhouse and waited, in full sight of the security camera. He waited a long time for a reply, but that was no surprise. She was a cautious one, when she managed to keep her vicious temper in check.

"Yes?"

"Open the door, Demona. I am sure that you remember me and I would speak with you about certain matters that may be profitable to the both of us."

There was no reply, but the gate slid open. Good enough.

Whatever we do next turn. Do not put Jumba on Dinosaur Entertainment even if his trait makes him good for it. The result will never passed the PG rating as they will act as chaoticly as possible.
