This adventure could have ended several other ways depending on who rolled what, including Krantz and Storkules facing off while you watched or both of them teaming up against you.

Storkules Learning Check: Remember what Dennis or Feldrake look like
DC 50
21+3=24
Critical Failure!
Never change Storkules, never change.

You have obtained a Meteorbeast; a rare, trainable, unintelligent magical creature!

Golumetric Theory action unlocked!

Kitsune has gained 1 Martial!

Dennis' Joking Around changes to Aw, Phooey!
So all in all we didn't get much but then again we were raiding an already raided "sanctum".

Extra stats are always nice and Kitsune will probably be the leader for most of this kind of outings so more stats for her is nice.

Getting the Meteorbeast seems to have unlocked an action about making golems so that is nice.

Character wise this was a fun short quest and the team bounced well with one another so I would probably say to keep sending this team on the Feldrake quest, probably not next turn to give some buffer (and clean Goblin Fox if need be, hopefully beating up Krantz counts as enough mayhem that its not needed) and give time for the team to do some Nationals/Personals between quest steps.

Quest: Midnight Sun Completed!

Hm, we could make that Meteorbeast either Doofs or Khans personal guard "dog" if nothing else.

"Golumetric" seems to be a made-up portemanteau or "golem" (an artifical, robot-like protector-entity from Jewish beliefs) and "volumetric" (measuring the volume as well as other characteristics of objects) - so it´s about...the analysis of humanoid automata? Interesting, but could mean pretty much *everything*.

One of our strongest Operatives getting their stats buffed is always nice.

Dennis' Joking Around changes to Aw, Phooey!

Aw, Phooey's effects apply to the Quest Leader on any Quest Dennis is put on; positive and negative. However, if Aw, Phooey causes a crit failure on a defensive roll, Have a Sandwich does not activate!

Aw, Phooey applies when Dennis performs a Personal Action!
Eh, it is mostly a buff. It has two main effects, Quest teams in which he is a member of will reroll at a lower barrier, specifically it lowers it by 10. This might add on if we have Goofy or Coyote or some other Toon in the leader or hero position. They will also critfail at a +10.

Hard to say what the critfail means, but it does mean Dennis will reroll on personal actions if he gets a 90 or above.

So, in effect any stuff he does will be more liable to get the "Exploding Dice treatment", but he loses the ability to just "tank" critfails, the threshold of which got...lowered? raised? dunno there what it is compared to other Toons "Joking Around" trait...Someone help me with gauging whether that whole trait is good or bad? It seems to go both ways

All in all actually a bit disappointing of a quest, since while the "haul" is interesting at least, most of us wanted to grab some Income as well to cushion our strained economy a bit - then again, this "sanctum" got raided beforehand, so it was to be expected to be a "fail" in that regard.

Oh well, it´s something good-ish at least.

Something that came to my attention, though:

The "naming theme" of this quest´s chapters are Runes from the (Elder) Futhark - the Norse "alphabet" of sorts, although each rune has its own occult meanings.

Let´s see, if we can gleam more meaning from "decoding" these Runes.

First rune is *Raido*, the rune corresponding to the letter "R" and to the concepts of *travel/movement, rites of passage and leadership*

Second rune MIGHT be a weird-looking *Fehu*, the rune corresponding to the letter "F" and to the concepts of *property, wealth and power*

Third and fourth runes are *Sowilo and Berkano*, the runes corresponding to the letters "S" as well as "B" and to the concepts of *the Sun, life force, success and will/intent* as well as *godhood, motherhood, birth and nurturing/growth*

...All in all very fitting for a sanctum of a megalomaniacal dark wizard that has been already raided by someone else and is now being scoured by others parties on top of it all - that being said, using *Nordic Runes* for it might have been a dangerous choice, considering the bad rep runes have got thanks to *stuff* that was foisted on them in the past, you know?

Wonder if we should have Dennis take a personal action to turn the Donald Duck fan club into a more legitimate organization: recruiting a Vice President, secretary, treasurer, and additional members to offload some of the work and acquire additional resources (membership dues?) to put towards his goal of finding Donald.

--[] Dennis (Recruit members for the Donald Duck fan club in Little Toontown)

Maybe he'll get a group of like-minded people that would be willing to join his stat block, some staying behind the desk, with others willing to go out in the field, and could put Dennis in a position where he can become even more useful.

Would be a good use of his time when he don´t need him for Quest, at least.

...Hm, we could use a "proper-ized" DD Fanclub as a sort-of "intelligence agency" to more efficently look for Donald and his kin, you know? Really not a bad idea...

Man, Krantz's Luck stat truly is ridiculous.

Yeah, it seems like he is predisposed towards doing *really well* during battles against him, only to faceplant completly later on - all of it without an *actual trait reinforcing that tendency*.

Really weird, but also very fitting considering what kind of Toon he is.

In other things, the Glooms were snooping around as well and because of that we can guess that David has *some* interest in Felldrake "sanctuaries" as well - interesting, but not really that concerning, since they are up for general grabs anyway.

Out of curiosity, can we use this to upgrade feldrake's avatar eventually?

He does now! He pulled out a trait labeled underdog-nose that, judging from the context, lowers the explosion threshold on his rolls even further when he's fighting someone who outclasses him. A rude reminder that we're not the only ones who can improve over time.

Wait, for real? Dang, that´ll be annoying to deal with whenever Krantz opposes us...

"Not plane, nor bird, nor even frog! Just little old me..."

[THUD]

"...Underdog."

Though if Krantz is a relative, I'm sure Underdog would be disappointed in him.

Hold up. I realized something when I was reading Kataclysm.

Phineas and Ferb don't know that Doof had a hand in Perry's disappeareance, right?

Oooohh, we may have a bomb to defuse, right? I mean, who remembers the movie of the Second Dimension? We may have a rebellion going up if people ever figured out who Agent P was.

Yeah...Their trait says their loyalty won't change unless reduced by 25 or more at once...Uh...I think we know what would do that...Problem is, we can't defuse it until we know about it in character, and neither Doof nor P&F are likely to make that connection.

Maybe a little visit to Technor is in order? After all, the two brothers just lost their second pet. When they are available again, let's make them visit the good ol' machine and trust that they will open themselfes up a little bit, giving us a little of clue of who P was. Maybe also talk with Doof. I think a crit talk may reveal the truth to him, and let us stop the fire before it begins...or maybe set it alight way earlier. Guess what option I prefer.

P&F: "Aren't you an evil mastermind?"

Technor: "Yes."

P&F: "But you're also a licensed therapist?"

Technor: "Yes. Yes I am."

Technically, Technor is a Shrink *First* and a Villain *second* - the fact that the government cut the funding of his grade A therapy programs drove him to villainy after all.

He is still very dedicated to Evil, mind you - I am simply pointing out what beget what.

This is the worse riddle. It's in character for Bob but my brain refuses to go down the twisted path from the punchline to the set-up.

Dr. Krantz screaming, that was funny, The toon is now trapped in weird meta-humor episode where none of the jokes are allowed to land.

Nobody's got it yet.
Timing is said to be the secret to all comedy. A common joke is to say "ya know the secret to all comedy?", wait, and, once the person stops paying attention, just say "timing!". Given that Hildy and Gloom showed up too late to fight their nemesis, I imagine that's part of the joke, and the rest is what I said.

You almost got it, but not really.

Interlude: Red Tape Do Not Cross
Major Monogram leapt to his feet and clapped his hands together. "Alright men! …animals! Dr. Doofenshmirtz has tasked us with finding out who stole the Declaration of Independence! We will put a stop to whatever this nefarious culprit has started, find out if they've acquired any other strange items to fulfil their evil scheme, and save America! Not necessarily in that order. We'll start by stealing the surveillance records from the National Mall. Everyone ready?"

Across the briefing room, a goose gave him the side eye.

"Oh come on! What could go wrong?"

---

Major Monogram glared as the cell bars closed in front of him.

"Don't you dare say a word, Agent G."

Okay, Major Monogram admitted to himself. Maybe he'd gotten a bit overconfident in his newly trained agents. Maybe he'd made a few mistakes along the line. But now was not the time for pointed wingtips. Now was the time to develop some brilliant plan to get them out of this scenario. Something that would wow everyone with his espionage skill and covert brilliance.

Monogram thought.

"…Hey! Don't I get a phone call!?"

The guard sighed. "Fine, who are you calling?"

"Uh…"

---

"Don't worry sir." Carl began calmingly. "I have an idea on how to get you out of this without causing a major incident. Heh, Major incident. Heh heh."

"Focus, Carl!" Monogram yelled into the phone receiver.

"R-right, sorry. So, you didn't actually do anything wrong. It's hard to believe, but technically we still are…"

---

"-a Federal agency." The bear across the table from you sighed in a thick Thembrian accent. He was dressed in a dark suit, dark tie, and a frown that showed off his extremely sharp teeth.

"I kannot belief it. You seempeltons are aktually government agents. While what you have done represents gross incompetence and initiative bordering on insubordination, you haf not, tekhnically, committed crime."

"Of course we are! Mr, uh… Gryzlikoff?" Monogram read off the bear's nametag. "While I will admit I may have had a few… missteps today, The Organization Without A Cool Acronym has been a bastion against Evil Science for years, I'm sure our achievements and accolades are-"

"I had to find the files myself. They were at the bottom of bathroom stall in sub-basement of SHUSH branch office behind locked door with sign saying 'Beware of Elephant'."

"Well, once you cross Agent E he never really forgets." Monogram replied offhandedly. "I suppose the name change to NOWCA might have caused some issue. Now, if we're all done here, I do have other duties-"

"Yeys." Agent Gryzlikoff replied. "I haf no more interest in being here than you. Uncle Sam is thinking 'oh, animals problems. We will send our own animals.' Feh. You will report to Agent 'Lucky 31' from now on. Expect orders within the week once channels are eystablished."

"Yes yes, I- wait what?"

"You work for government." Gryzlikoff replied bluntly as he stood up. "Prepare to start working."

---

Lack of Agency: The US Government has been reminded that NOWCA works for them! Each turn, Major Monogram must make a weighted roll to see if the government has a job for him (depending on how busy the government is). If so, he will be locked into a personal action while the government receives him as a hero unit for the turn. You can expect Monogram to be free more often than not, but you won't know until the turn is posted at the start of each turn.
