Another good way to gain loyalty with him might be to have Doof chat with him and study basic magic in the same turn. He wants to be responsible for teaching us about magic, so let's bond with him by learning some magic.
Like I said earlier, next turn we could chat with Russ, Alan, Janus, Mirage, and then the turn after next (2 turns from now) we could chat with Malf & do the magic training on the same turn if we wanted to.

Also, 2 turns from now could be a good time to try again with Norm. Maybe throw him a birthday party because it would be a summer turn and he was created in the summer? But that might be premature.

Just a thought that's been percolating around for a while, but; part of Malf's unhappiness is that he's stuck s a ghost, right? Stuck in his castle, unable to come and go as he pleases and stuff. What if we fixed that? We've been able to make Doppelbots for a while, maybe creating a Malfbot body which we then stick the Malfghost in could work? Or, alternatively, we could get Janus and/or Jumba to just grow Malf a body wholesale that we then stick him into, if he views inhabiting a 'golem' as beneath him.

Malf being Malf, he'll assume that we are trying to turn him into our new garden gnome or something stupid like that.

And, I guess, there is also the Core, from Amphibia. Given the events of the series finale, there is a strong Moon connection, there is a desire for death and destruction, there is no respect/interest for the masquerades in Earth and Amphibia stuff seems to have started showing up in Los Angeles.

A queen is missing. A Mewman Queen's ghost isn't where its supposed to be. Maybe she didn't count Jushtin; but I feel she would call that out.

Janus is important, but in no way urgent. He already got our permission to do the next stage of the New Man project, so it's not like he'll start resenting us.

He's important for a lot of reasons (antisocial, councilor, stewardship councilor especially, New Men project, lack of prior facetime directly between Doof and Janus, etc), but he's also urgent for a few of them too.

For example, chatting with him after the Sycorax infiltration network has already been dismantled by pulling Mezmerella back would be a huge waste of a short window of opportunity.

However, besides the urgency argument, a more important way to look at things is that chatting with Janus is urgent because it's important. We have a limited pool of actions, and if we only ever do what we think is good for the short term, we will never be able to build towards valuable long term goals.

Besides, the same lack of urgency argument could technically be levied against the Mirage chat as well, but we know chatting with Mirage is important thus should be prioritized, just like chatting with Janus.

We have to be patient and first build a solid foundation by chatting with the councilors. And if we just do one turn of 4 chats we get rid of the clog and only need one more chat (Malf) the turn after next.

How about this as an alternative. We still do 4 chats next turn, Russ, Alan, Mirage and Malf, with Janus being chatted to two turns from now. Basically just swapping Malf and Janus.

Assuming we recruit or at least attempt to recruit Celena next turn along with having the QMS do ODI next turn, and two turns from now have the QMS rob Sycorax with the tier 2 infiltration that we will have two turns from now.

There is potential synergy (well, really more the potential mitigation of consequences) for recruiting Celena by chatting with Malf same turn, and potential synergy of chatting with Janus in the same turn that we are stealing a lot of specimens and data that he can utilize for his research.

Obviously plans will fluctuate as we get curveballs, or maybe decide to try for Tier 3 infiltration before robbery, but what do people think about the general idea of doing things this way?

Maybe, Maybe not, he is in the same Realm of Magic though. I also think Dirhenna was never actually queen since Crescenta conviced Festivia to make her the heir instead of her older sister.

You're arguing opportunity cost from Janus not being quite as happy as he could possibly have been. I'm arguing Malf going into a Lovemuffin-style death-spiral. One of those has significantly more opportunity cost.

Mirage had an actual bad thing happen to her a while ago that she's upset about, so did Russ. Arguably, so did Malf, even though he's just being ridiculous.

Idea for a future turn (3 turns from now)

All on the same turn we
  • Have Doof chat with Janus
  • Have Doof chat with Jumba
  • Have the QMS rob Sycorax specimens
  • Have someone hunt magical specimens (Tobe?)
  • Have Jumba do a mutant / New Man personal action (will require 2 of Wasabi, Lizzy, Wendy doing learning action or for us to do the retreat on this turn)
  • Have Janus do a mutant / New Man personal action (if this occurs on the July/August turn which is 3 turns from now, he will have his 2nd councilor personal action)
For the ultimate Seeds follow-up synergy.

If we do DoI next turn, how's this for a team/plan?

Leader: Russ
Occult/Intrigue: Tobe (might get cut depending on how many slots he fills)
Martial/Learning: Lizzy
Diplomacy/Stewardship: Kermit/Moseby
Extra if Tobe takes up 1 and he is avaliable: Monogram

Basically the QMs have implied Tobe might take up 2 or 3 hero slots on quest (Mostly from narrative weight to stop them from writing to many characters), and If he does 3 we can't use him and should swap him with Kitsune or Janna.

For our other actions we can
Stick the Diplo hero we don't use+Cruella on Diplomacy
Use Kitsune and Olivia for Intrigue
Use Janna and Tom on Occult.

This team will have
26+27+5+7=65 (+5 vs 21+ Martial)
16+35=51 or 16+23=39 Diplomacy (+5 when using government authority, -5 versus people who dont like Sarcasm)
10+36=46 or 10+30=40 Stewardship
40+25+7=72 Intrigue (+5 when uncovering or hiding secrets, -5 vs 21+ martial)
15+32=47 Learning
19+15=31 Occult

EDIT: We can also swap Kermit and Moseby with Kitsune if we don't care about occult. She still has great diplomacy (16+28=44) and makes our Occult a lot better (19+23=42). In return Lizzy gets the stewardship of 25 (10+15).

How the doozy did you make me feel anything for a one note joke like Malifishmirtz?

His entire character is "Doof, but wizard and dead". That's it. That's the whole thing. He doesn't have nuance, he's literally the identical grandson trope. That's all. He's a joke. A joke.

How on earth did you give him something resembling depth. I mean, you know the QM was setting Celena up to be his replacement, right? They gave us the option to keep her around, they had him react to it comically in the last update. They probably want to shuffle him off so they could do other things with other characters, characters who are interesting and have actual storytelling potential. But now I feel bad for him. And that means I want him to stick around and actually matter.

You did this. Yooooooouuuuuu diiiiiiiid thiiiiiiisssss.

I'm just a bit confused.

Why would we take Malf off the council? It's where he's best suited due to his traits making him sub-optimal as a hero unit.

Let Celena be the really good occult unit. Like Khan is for Martial.

No big deal.

Malf may be annoyed he's not unique anymore but hopefully talking to him might cheer him up and revamp his personals.
 
Would associating with living toys help Malf? They're semi-immortal beings used to immature and erratic behavior with the added benefit of classifying as shinies instead of serfs.

Malf's ability to grow as a person is extremely limited but toys can put up with a lot before giving up on someone.
