Why would seals have better range?

Also, I doubt chakra radar is as easy as people seem to think.

Although it seems that I estimate the difficulty of sealing projects to be higher than people think, or think there's always some catch as to why that seal won't work or isn't invented.
 
@faflec I would still strongly prefer Gunwands/GUSIs have their own area in the plan, rather than being in Research and Training. Also include in the demonstration using them to activate macerators, air domes, and storage seals.

Alternatively, light-based motion detecting seals combined with telescopes should function perfectly well in clear conditions. How many would be necessary depends on field of view. And don't forget, this is the village where the Hyuuga live, so figuring out a way to spot things shouldn't be a problem.

Not technically, but covering the surface area of a 5 km hemisphere with one km radius spheres gets expensive fast, in terms of seals required. Given how (this may be fanon, take with salt) the Hyuuga value long range sight capabilities, I don't particularly think the Hyuuga will like being told "sit in the middle of the village for eight hours with your Byakugan on and alert people if you see incoming"

Also, re: chakra diffusion problem: Sidestep it by containing the chakra into a single narrow three dimensional slice, rather than a general diffusion, and physically move the platform the seal is on. Given a sufficiently well timed refresh rate, you may be able to get similar distance detection with massively increased range.

It's not research at all, though. We know it will work. The QMs have said that LBF is reusable up to (though not consistently) 12 times, and that they remain functioning so long as they remain aligned relative to each other.

Then the majority of the time should go to casino seals and it should be on top. We already spent time trying to lower the TNs of casino seals so we need to have some follow through
