Noburi has a better shot talking the Toad Sages into a secrecy oath. Flip it around, is there an oath we can make foreclosing blackmail that the Sages could attest to? Not stepping foot in Toad for 5 years?

Pretty sure he understands whats going on, they "offically" accepted Noburi for the trade network: (Yes, likely a trick to make Noburi work for their approval)
"I dunno about you, but my pipeweed's running a little low," Fukasaku said
"From what the boy says, Little Oro and Sunny are both back in town," Shima noted thoughtfully, tapping her chin with one long finger. "Plus they're about to have the Summoners for Turtle, Porcupine, and Dog. That's a lot of trade we could do. Pipeweed, wakeleaf, slug jam, driver ants because someone was too dumb to leave a breeding group in the colony—"
So they should be annoyed about the situation, but at least Fukasaku isn't.

Fukasaku took the letter and frowned, then brandished it back at Hazō.

"Bah! I hate reading your ugly human script,"
Can't let the Crow Summoner be fooling our clan's summoner when he's on important business. Now, if that's all, get out of here."

Probably just a: "Don't bore me with the details and don't tell me that this is a secret mission" reaction. The Toads know how politics and OPSEC work. Also why he said to learn from Hiruzen.

And he is probably just cranky that the Dog summoner is his summoners Boss, can't let Hazou get a big head about this and command them around. They are the Toad Sages after all.

(And he wants the dogs gone, they are likely annoying him, but though luck old man)

They just don't want to admit that they like us. Those are some tsundare Toads.

Not clear if Fukasaku understands we want to make it impossible to blackmail us to save innocent hostages from torture.

No one can be tsundere to Honoka.

Maybe we can capture chakra beast with the help of the Arachnid Clan? Keep them trapped in butt rope and docile with scorpion + Noburi medical knowledge.
I'm not super interested in this, recall that it costs us lots of chakra to Summon the Arachnids, so their help would need to be worth the amount of chakra we'd spend on them and they don't seem that useful.
Also start teaching Mari summoning.
I don't want to do this before we have a scroll, if we get interrupted all that time goes to waste. After we finish all the notes, maybe. Our time is better spend on notes until then.

Hazou shouldn't be the one doing it at all, we have 3 other Summoners with less valuable time

Noburi will probably be busy training with the Sages and Kagome will be doing seal research so I would pick Kei to do it

I do think it's still premature to start though, we were told that you need to have an unbonded scroll with you to learn the stunt and be sure you won't fuck up, Kei/Takahashi was luck/weirdness/an outlier and should not be counted

Can't do that without a scroll to synergize to. The fact that kei did it is an exception, rather than the rule.

I don't think that is true, knowing about your Clan is just beneficial. But sure, source?

Besides the obvious point that we can be interrupted at any time after we got a scroll, it's already two weeks since we went missing-nin.

Pretty sure that if we don't start teaching summoning to somebody soon we might as well forget having an additional Summoner.

Ok good point, maybe it's too expensive, maybe if we stayed for a long time it would pay off.

and they don't seem that useful.

We never really used the Arachnids before. A bunch of players seem to have written off all summons that aren't a Boss, yet Panashe was always extremely useful despite only costing 105 CP.

I don't see how the Arachnids are useful in this situation. If we have chakra beasts that need containment Noburi can drain them until they're comatose and we can just tie them up.

Depends on the chakra beast and it's strength.

Maybe I am just biased and want to have Kagome and the Arachnids work together, but besides chakra costs, how would they not be useful to restrain powerful chakra beasts with huge reserves. Pretty sure strong chakra beast = high chakra. The Arachnids build a beautiful city above a hole.

If that assumption is wrong, like that we need an unbound scroll. Yeah forget what I said lol.

Congrats quest, we've successfully prompted kagome's training. If we get Noburi's sheet back, we'll be at, like, 3.5. Kinda makes up for leaving just after making Sasha's.

However, note that Takahashi trained Kei blind purely for lack of other options, and it's far from standard practice: without a scroll, you have nothing to attune to and no way to get internal feedback on whether you're performing the technique correctly until your first live run (where a failed interdimensional journey may mean death). This is the reason why summoners don't routinely have a heir pre-trained and ready to make a contract on the spot in the event of their sudden death.

I guess that was the post. Yeah ok, we might actually need a Scroll despite having 4 summoners....damn this sucks.

Takahashi didn't explain them to Kei, whether for manipulative reasons or because he felt the implications of miscasting the world's most complex space-time ninjutsu would be self-explanatory to an intelligent pessimist.

Any attack that restrains a target is a basically a one-hit kill, that's why Paper hates Goo Bombs. So the Arachnid would need to hit the target with the restraint jutsu.

Kagome doesn't have the CR to Summon anything particularly strong, so basically the Arachnid has nothing to do. Anything strong enough to threaten Yuno and Nobs is too strong for a weak Summon to hit.

If the beast is weak, Yuno and Noburi can just drain it, and if the beast is strong Yuno and Noburi cripple it and then drain it. In neither case does the Arachnid add anything they can't do with a Goo Bomb if they need to.

It's been said he can summon "massive scorpions" though I'm not sure we ever got to see how strong they were - CR 17 or 18 would be sufficient to summon low jonin tier summons, it would just take all his chakra
