On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Well with that correction than 1 action on figuring out what we want to do with the wedding requests and the other 3 on rune metal to finish that off? Also let Snerra go on her trip. Gives us five next turn to play with, 3 of which would go to finishing the wedding request if we have all the mats, 1 on finishing the griffons and 1 to research/requests/looking at odd places

We need to finish the Torques off. If we don't do one this turn it's two next turn.

Either you're missing something here or I am. The torque request needs two more actions to complete, so how're we polishing it off in one action next turn without spending an action on them this turn?

Griphons.....

That looks like future Griffon Riders

Now we need to make some hammers with runes that makes them spark lots of lightning and that appear back on the hand of the griphon riders.

Well we don't necessarily need the rune metal/Adamant study finished this turn. I mean the request at the moment is for cloaks and an amulet.
Dowry Pt. 1: Two cloaks and an amulet to be ready for the wedding of Prince Durabarr Stonehammer and Princess Orra Ironarm. It A multi-work project

So a slight modification of Oni's plan:

[] Plan Dolittle and Dragon Cloaks Prep
-[] Teach your apprentice. [Cost: 1 Action] Locked in for 0 turns. Apprentices can now be released into the world
--[] Release them [Cost: 1 apprentice action permanently] Gain 1 Action
-[] [Simple] [Cost: variable apprentice actions.] Roll for usefulness. 1 Roll per apprentice action. 1 Apprentice action.
-[] [Simple] Torques A Plenty [Cost: (3-1) =2 Actions] Productivity Like No Other will proc. 2 Actions.
-[] The Rune Metal Pt. 4: [Cost: (8 -3) =5 actions] Student of the Odd and Mind for Metal will proc. 2 Actions.
-[]Write-in: Tier 3 Dragonhide
--[] Kingly Authority: You may petition King Otrek to flex his political muscle to expedite the process. [Cost: 5,10,15, Favour from King Otrek, depending on tier] -1 turn taken on order.

Yes we aren't proccing on the research but we finish the torques and next turn we can put 3/4 actions towards the request and trickle the rune metal.

I think that getting the Torques out now is the best option, we've already put it off for 20 years now, though the 10 years campaigning with Grimnir's throng would probably get a 'I completely understand', but putting it off another turn, when they seem to be even more needed now, will be a bad showing.

-[ ] Teach your apprentice. [Cost: 1 Action] Locked in for 0 turns. Apprentices can now be released into the world
-- [ ] Hold them: She isn't so much unready as she still can learn more. There's an argument to be made about keeping her and packing more knowledge into her little head.. You retain their services, though technically you could hold them here for eternity, it would not look good to do so past their second century. [Cost: Delayed Journeyman Trial]
-[ ] [Simple] Torques A Plenty [Cost: (3-1) =2 Actions] Productivity Like No Other will proc. 2 Actions
-[ ] [Simple] Apprentice work [Cost: variable apprentice actions.] Roll for usefulness. 1 Roll per apprentice action. 1 Apprentice Action
-[ ] [Difficult] Dowry Pt. 1 [Cost: 1 action] Due in 4 Turns. If a rune you want requires special ingredients that you don't have access to I will alert you. Format for multi-item requests at the bottom of the update. 1 Action
-- [ ] Theme: Cloak 1 Theme
-- [ ] Theme: Cloak 2 Theme
-- [ ] Theme: Amulet - Hearth and Home (?)
-[ ] Hearthstones: This deep orange gem glows with never-ending heat, never enough to boil water, but enough to sleep comfortably at night and keep a bowl of stew warm long after it's left the stove. You have a few theories about how useful the material will be, but you can't ever be sure. At least it's likely to be a profitable resource when you can get some actual production going though.[Cost: 4 actions] Student of the Odd will proc. 1 Action
-[ ] Write-in Order: Tier 3 Dragonhide
- [ ] Kingly Authority [Cost: 5,10,15, Favour from King Otrek, depending on tier] -1 turn taken on order.

Simple idea for the turn. Holding Snerra back for another turn just to give her that extra seasoning and keep any grumbling down about her - wouldn't want anyone giving her the short shrift just because someone couldn't recognize genuine once in a generation talent when it was literally smacking them in the face. Finish off the Torques. Decide on themes for the dowry bits, though I haven't really kept up with the thread chatter on that front and don't have any solid ideas for the cloaks and only really one immediately came to mind for something intended to remind someone of home for the amulet. Hearthstone research cause the turn literally mentioned them. Order Dragonhide to make the cloaks out of.

I'm not budging on finishing the Rune Metal now. They've waited for the Torques a bit, we've waited for Rune Metal longer and I don't feel like putting it off because someone else needs us a little bit sooner. I'm fine with one now or two and overflow (if there is any with the new system) next turn, but now is the time to discern the secret of crafting Adamant without wasteful explosions.

So please don't fall into the mindset again of "we must help everyone"

i really don't like letting snerra go just yet though, she's really young and even her father thinks it's too soon.
Jorri doesn't mention anything of the sort though? He's just proud, and mentions we shouldn't tell her that till she's 400.

So I don't get gimped by other surprises: @soulcake if we want to make the Cloaks out of Dragonhide do I need to order two lots of Tier 3 Dragonhide, or will one suffice?

Interesting. Are you desiring to make use of the time until the Dragonhide arrives to research Wutroth or Hearthstones?
Not particularly. We don't have time to research them both and make the dowry, and the armor before turn 19 if we want to overflow things to the best degree, so I'm not going to bother attempting both of them. Wutroth might get done at some point.

One order is enough for two cloaks in this case, though note I never thought you guys would use ordering for stuff outside of Runes so I gotta think this one over for future orders cuz I realize this is gonna open a new pandora's box. So a similar order in the future MAY change the cost. >_>

I want to hold Snerra for at least one more turn. The apprentices we've had for far longer are just two decades out on their own for Thungni's sake. She has immense talent, but that just means we need to optimize it.

That's surprising. You made a starting element with ingredient-based equipment.

Your valour so inspired those brave Dawi, and the treasure you secured them so great (after returning what could be returned to those relatives that yet lived of course) that you earned their loyalty for that day forevermore and in return you girded them in the very remains of the beast the lot of you slew. This band of doughy warriors has served you with aplomb for decades, all of them you would gladly die for just as gladly as they would for you. (Gain: the allegiance of The Drakeslayers: unit of 80 heavily armoured Dwarf dragonslayers. Unbreakable, Unshakeable Loyalty, Rune Armor made from Gromril and Dragon parts.)

Iiiiiiit basically comes down to in this case that we don't have any suitably magical materials for the Cloaks, at least in my opinion.

Then how are we going to be able to use them if haven't researched their properties?
Because we can use them in the physical construction just fine, see the Reckoner. I'm not talking about putting them in the Runes that go on the amulet but making the amulet body out of those things.

Reminder:
- Master Rune of ???: you're close to finishing this Rune, you're sure of it. Necesarry Ingredients: [T2] Obsidian?
In order to use the results of the Master Rune we are researching, we're likely going to need Obsidian as a component. That means ordering it as soon as possible, so that we have time to make whatever infrastructure we unlock that lets us make Adamant reliably, and still have time to produce and use it in the Dowry.

As for the apprentice, given that we have more we can teach her, extra time for her to grow wouldn't be amiss.

@Enthusiast#117 raises a good point about Obsidian.

you could have it be a background thing were Snorri orders the needed things without our input. or have the commissioner supply the material for the runes to be put on

Is there a particular reason the armour needs to be done by the same time as the current work order? The reason Snorri's working on a deadline rn is that the foreign king needs to present the cloaks and the amulet at a specific time, but the armour's a separate thing that Otrek's buying for himself - it's got nothing at all to do with the wedding. He hasn't even offered the commission to Snorri yet either. What's the harm in finishing the cloak and amulets asap and then delivering the armour a turn or so later?

Well, keep in mind Overflow isn't guaranteed to produce extra results, at least not beyond a certain point, now.

the Drakeslayers got their armour from the dragon they killed which made sense. I realize in hindsight that yes you could and probably would order stuff like this tho. Ah well, cest la vie.

It always did, I just clarified that. I mean if you dumped 4 actions into the pickaxe request all those turns ago you wouldn't have outfitted the hold if that makes sense.
