(Question: "how much Martial does the horse of horse-riding nomads, or at least this one, have?")
1. is not a "peek at their statline", as that implies much more info than we have
2. does not even remotely specify that its for one clan/province, at most you can argue its for one "horse", which presumably is "horde", and thats if you're willing to misrepresent the question, as its clearly about the martial for "this horde", which says nothing about the number of clans.

Honestly I think the martial 8 might just have been their infantry conscripts.

All the nomads aren't here right now. There is just one group of nomads attacking us at this moment. It will be along time coming before they can use that numbers advantage to attack us because guess what! There not united, they are a bunch of clans fighting each other for resources. Good luck uniting all of those clans against us and then organizing them to fight us as a single unit.
So, how do you plan on determining which clans were the ones who attacked us and which were the ones they fled past? Because indiscriminately killing every nomad we come across sounds like a good way get the clans to unite and fight against us.

*Sigh* Yeah, I'll just leave you to your opinion now. Your argument is that we should kill the nomads to send a message, despite the fact that literally nobody would even notice or care that we sent a message, despite the fact that it will likely damage our Pride in Acceptance trait that is at the core of our people's values, and despite the fact that it would be costly to our military, at a time when our vassals were badly damaged and our homeland is being ravaged by a plague.

Many people have argued against your idea of sending a message, and you've still remained resolute. So I can at least admire your tenacity in sticking to an argument that the majority dislike, even if your reasoning leaves a lot to be desired.

Pandemic Negaverse:

AN: The Ymaryn discovered the reservoir. Epidemic is defeated in the region!
Negaverse: NOOOOOOOOOOOO!! *sob*
AN: You had a good run, but the Ymaryn has the best public health system for a reason, and you couldn't pick a worse time for it as they were full to the brim with stats. Now that it is over, it's going to encourage them to improve their system, from a level that is already unmatched anywhere until the modern era. They are also going to reduce the level of urbanization so that it's more manageable.

Kill the ones being affected by plague. They would be the ones who would have had the most contact with us.

Our vassals were Wiped Out by the people you want to accept. Excuse me if I feel like these people haven't exactly engendered acceptance. Besides isn't our society also based on questioning those same values? Maybe its time to rethink some beliefs.
Also, would any argument I make truly sway you? You saw my vote and immediately disagreed with it. There was no way I was ever going to convince you of why we should do this.

[X] Whoever surrenders may join the People (-1 Stability, -1 Legitimacy, -1 RA, 2 temp Econ damage, -2 EE, +2 Light Cavalry, Additional Disease Roll, ???)

You want to replace our charity and acceptance of others - something that has been a part of us since the sixth update of around a hundred and fifty, I believe - with genocidal arseholery and self-destructive, pointless hatred and cruelty.
No, I want to change our values to cautious acceptance and a military doctrine of total annihilation.

Pride in Acceptance has been either our most useful or second most useful trait up to this point. Why, exactly, would we want to give it up for the sake of sending a message that will be forgotten in 2-3 turns at best?

We've accepted nomads who had been waging war with us against people that were actually ruled directly by us with little fanfare before. This is far from the first time we have chosen to forgive and help people who were trying to kill us, and it hopefully won't be the last.

And of course I disagreed. But I also argued with you, tried to find out why you believed what you did.

Your points have shown little to no real benefit to our people. Forgiving them gets us more cavalry, strengthens an important core value of the Ymaryn that has been mentioned to be currently in danger due to our new spiritual value, and also gets us new tech, both military, and potentially material. Stopping here also gives us a chance to rest and fight the plague killing tens of thousands, as well as to restore order to our colonies and vassals.

Your argument is that we should kill them in revenge, to send a message to others, but many people have explained why that won't work in the long term. You have not given any reason beyond wanting to kill them for revenge, which is why so many people are opposed to your idea, since there is no long term, or even really short term benefit to us following your plan.

Well, well, well. You know the Khan who has been stealing your kills?

His disease rolls for this phase were 94, 1, and 1 again.

They uh... they got wrecked.

Suck it, Nomads! Hah!

Nomads are infected, Ymaryn resistance slowly being eroded, and we have a chance to start infecting the steppe.

Holy shit praise the merciful and benificent Vulture.

We just needed keep hitting 'em with disease rolls; they had to succumb eventually.
Not!China, here we come!

So, what you're trying to say is that we got to eat a SECOND nation via critfail? Wow.

I guess that kinda makes up for the bullshit Ymaryn rolls on locking down their cities. I guess they sucked up all the luck in the region. :p
WingedOne said:
How did we do against the Ymaryn do this turn anyways, @Macademia Nut? Are their cities broken yet? I mean, they were getting their asses handed to them by nomad hordes, so that's got to have eaten up all their reserves, right?
Macademia Nut said:
The good news about the Ymaryn is their cities are bleeding population as people leave to work the empty farms. You are doing pretty good there.

Bad news is that you've got no luck on actually breaking into their cities. And probably won't for the next full turn, honestly; they rolled up a Hero King to keep things working. And a Spiritual Value emphasizing cleanliness.

I gotta ask: WHAT THE SHIT DID THEY EVEN ROLL FOR THIS TO HAPPEN?! How lucky do they have to be to get a Hero AND an applicable value? Can you even roll values ad-hoc like that? I thought you needed to have an open slot for them.
Macadamia Nut said:
They had a slot from completing a quest, and the hero was a reward for completing a megaproject.
That said, if you had struck a turn later, they would have chosen a different reward and filled up the slot already, so yeah, that was pretty lucky.

I call bullshit. I know @Macadamia Nut said this was going to be hard difficulty, but this is just ridiculous.
Macadamia Nut said:
Did I mention? The king they rolled up?
He's actually Poor Martial, Average Diplo, Heroic Admin, Heroic Mystic.

...and we just broke the external force that was trying to wreck them.

Ooooops.
