As it is I think the Ymaryn heartland and Gylruv proper are going to be badly over-populated in the coming centuries. We can mitigate that by spreading the people across Not!"Siberia and gain a firm groundwork for resource extraction projects later.

From the look of things in the Design doc for industrial turns, claiming Kyberi (Not!Siberian) territory and expanding transport infrastructure is going to be our primary way to raise Max Development, and thus industrial capacity. So this seems like a pretty solid plan.

On the topic of Not!Siberia, what do people think about enacting our own Mid-Canada Plan on the place?

The grandiose — but failed — 1960s plan by an Ontario war hero to settle a 'second Canada' below the Arctic

100 million people at the territory of European Russia, Kurdistand and modern Ukraine?...not really.
Modern European Russia houses 110 million people; modern European Russia covers 4 000 000 square kilometers. For comparison, the entirety of USA covers ~10 million square kilometers.

With Ukraine and other stuff thrown into the mix, we have the size of more than half of USA already, most of it in temperate-or-so climate and not some freaking desert.

We can, I think, fit a billion people in the current territory we hold. Half a billion for sure.

Of course, Siberia will make it much easier.

Maybe over-populated is the wrong word. Over-crowded perhaps?

We could probably feed them all, but once the Agricultural Revolution hits all those countless millions are going to flood the cities looking for work. The resultant levels of unemployment and poverty are gonna be dangerous for our stability, hygiene, social development, and what have you. I'm sure many of them are going to emigrate over to the Not!USA as well, much like OTL Europeans. IMO we need this project to create jobs and prevent demographic flight, at least until we finish the transition into a true industrial society.

That this'll feed into our industrial growth is a big bonus of course.

Welcome to industrial age I guess.
If we get 5th academy, I am all for putting it onto medical/ecological/biological duty.
Ecology kinda matters because global warming is, uh, a big bad thing.

Although this game suddenly transforming from Vic2 into Fate of the World would be interesting in its own right I guess.

Well, we got a head start in biochar. :V And our stable location means agents wouldn't "disappear" as often.

[X] New Thread

As much as I like posting in a mega thread, having the old front page preserved will be good for future re-reads.

[X] New Thread

New thread would be better in my personal opinion.
While this is still Paths of Civilization, it is essentially separate from the entirety of the previous quest.

It would help with future readers to know that you didn't have to read through the hundreds of thousands of words of the last quest to get into the new one, since I think that was something that deterred people from getting into PoC as it got bigger.

[X] Redo the Front Page

We shant leave this thread until we reach the end of Time or we hit the Maximum Number of Pages

Whatever comes first:V
