Where are the french going to get super terminator powers from and why would they be interested in our direction rather than feasting on the breaking Germanies and Portugal?

Nationalism hadn't even started yet...if anything our agenda of restoring Greater Ymaryn is the closest to it of the whole region.
You know, he's not wrong. This is the turn, if history echos RL history, for new philosophies to mestaticise into spitting out doom legions, with the first generation of modern mass mobilization.

Unfortunately, it is also possible that the natural rights ideas from last turn are enough of a seed already.

Also, hard to say which nation goes terminator mode, no guarantee it will be notFrance.

Yeah- we seem intent on ensuring that it is Germany. On our border.

Yes, my point was that Ymaryn was set up for Nationalist Doom Legions already. Any given seed stare could produce that, but the long urbanized state which got the idea first is more likely to hit that level first.

This isn't OTL East Europe here. Its culturally unifying where West Europe was splitting, rather reversed the situation. Especially when we have records of mass mobilizations and their burdens already immortalized.

As such, the OTL forces are prettt divergent. The OTL argument doesn't hold up unless more evidence is presented. The political split lines are too different.

It has been explained what the strategic goal of destabilizing them AND promoting Ymaryn favorable moral ideas while we're at it?

The only ones claiming theres no goal are the silent voters. The expected objective is very much known. We're destabilizing them in a deniable manner so that they splinter and as a result also kick the colonial/slaving powers as they try to avoid the same, stressing their economies.

These, other than Complete Integration, are all about fanning flames and generating regional disruption so we can finish securing our successors.

They just differ in the level of deniability and military commitment.

Sorry, clarification: AN hasn't explained what throwing philosophers at the Tortun is supposed to accomplish. Voters have said plenty about what they want this to do but I'm not entirely convinced that it will so that's not especially helpful.

I really want to double up on this one:

[X] Enemies are distracted, take the time to finish unification with the Gylruv (1.2x)

If we are doing this unification thing, we should make an effort to do it right, even if it means we can't poke our competitors. I expect that whatever the opportunity cost of not stirring this cauldron might be, it is less than the benefit we would get from sorting our more wrinkles in our merger.

We were told to pick two, I'm pretty sure we're getting two unless basically nobody votes for any other options (which at this point isn't really feasible, we've got like 30-odd votes on the second-place option).

Warning: JUDGEMENT IS AT HAND
(Hi. You are clearly inexperienced here. Don't do that again. You know what :V)
Sigh, these kind of purposeful ignorance and calling people inexperienced instead of good debating that led to the previous great salt and thread lock.
judgement is at hand You will reduce salt, sniping, and this kind of shitty posting, or you will take several days off the thread in the middle of lightning rounds. Last warning to all.

Information: OH, HEY, SORRY I FORGOT
People Only I Am suppose to get yelled at by mods here, Bug off my turf. :p

[X] Whole lot of angry sailors there, they could make great privateers if hired by the right person (1.2x)

I want this mainly because I love pirates and we are fast approaching the time where pirates are gonna stop being a thing.

Plus we are kinda shit at naval stuff compared to our peers. Maybe asymmetric warfare would help turn our fortunes for the better.

I want the Ymaryn Jolly Rogers flag to fly on the seven seas.

... I hadn't realized that the Not!-Russians were also our heritage so we could fuse with them.

This changes things.

Kill the eastern colonies while everyone is looking west. Receive untold benefits as the riches of Asia flow through us again. As it should be.

Our heritage is pretty huge.
Most of Russia, all of Scandinavia, and pretty much all of Turkey are our cultural descendants.
We managed to pick up Russia, and are at good terms with Scandinavia and Turkey.

Then a Tortun prince went bankrupt. The initial loan had been issued to aid in the development of a mine and ironworks to refine the ores produced, but then said prince got into a cataclysmic war with a fellow Tortun prince and ended up penniless. Deciding that he preferred to essentially restructure the payment plan and suffer some personal indignity rather than have assets stripped, he surrendered finances to the Crown Bank, at which point the accountants helped restructure and reorder the principality. They were gone within two years, but the remarkable recovery prompted other princes to realize they could essentially buy financial advisers, which prompted a flood of attempts to get loans that the Crown Bank almost immediately had to start turning down en masse because they were being made in obvious bad faith. This however caused the Tortun emperor to freak out and nearly declare war at the 'attempt to steal my subjects away from me!'
11/10, would create another central bank.

How about not making a Revolutionary France Germany on our border?

I'm inclined to agree, but do note that currently the best chance at stopping that vote is actually "[] Offer cheap credit to the Sketch and Kielmyr to cause more trouble (1.2x)" so since we have approval voting could I persuade you to throw that in to your vote? I'll toss the Monsoon Sea one in to mine in exchange, if that helps.

EDIT: I'm going offline soon so I'll just go ahead and do my end of the deal now. You're free to do yours or not as desired.
