I still say that, assuming she survives this, we should work with Mari on creating a gentaijutsu style for her.

e: It strikes me that Hazou would do exceptionally well with a gentaijutsu style for the same reason Roki works for him.

It would have to focus heavily on clones, since genjutsu makes her immobile for its duration. Too bad clones can't use genjutsu.

Edit: We should Technique Hack genjutsu-using clones :D :D
By default, maybe. But with sufficient technique hacking we might work out minor genjutsu she can perform while moving.

Which begs the question: Does it cost less for us to Technique Hack genjutsu that can be used while mobile, or to Technique Hack clones that can cast genjutsu?

Extra Special Super No.

Do not create sentient things with a limited lifespan.

Especially not things that look and act like (and might be) copies of yourself.
Bu-Bu-Bu-But muh genjutsu clones :(

Maybe we can preprogram the clones with a specific genjutsu (ie blindness, deafness, etc.) so that they don't have to actually be intelligent?

e: Or we could create a tulpa to sustain the genjutsu, maybe?

I'm surprised Mari doesn't have an "overloading" genjutsu, which works by overstimulating the target's nerves so their mind breaks. No specific images or targets, just pure visual/auditory/everything overload.

Only nine hours left and yet we don't have anything yet???

Seems like a perfectly normal round of planning to me.

Thank you. Yes, this is the vibe that I've been getting this last week -- lots of blame, lots of passive-aggressive and/or directly aggressive, and very little appreciation. @Velorien can speak for himself on the subject; personally, I've been playing it cool so as not to cause drama, but since you directly bring it up I will comment.

Honestly, yes, I feel much the same way. Not necessarily unappreciated, but at the point when I'm more worried whether a decision will make people angry than whether it's a good decision, something has gone wrong.

Sorry about that. It's just very easy to get caught up in the things that need improvement and forget about the positive reinforcement. I'll strive to give more of that in the future and blunt some of my negative feedback.

(I would like to say that I would stop with the passive aggressiveness...but lets be real here, that is not a thing I am capable of.)

In general, I really like the quest and what you are doing with. If sometimes my feedback seems negative it has more to do with the fact that I have faith that you guys can raise to the challenge and make the quest even better than it currently is. Quests are a relatively fresh medium, and making one with the lofty goal of having things make sense is a pretty high hurdle. (So that there's no misunderstanding, the current level of the quest pretty fucking excellent, in my humble opinion.)

Also, if you guys feel that we are being bitchy just say so. I think it will lessen the drama by making people re-assess the current situation, not create more of it.

Also, positive things to say:

@Velorien You were right about the chakra boost and it was totally our job to include it in our plan. Also the omake thing was pretty great. I know we were not supposed to read into it but I already feel bad about fighting the poor Hot Springs ninjas. They just wanted to be left alone and do research and now they have to deal with us.

@eaglejarl I went back and read the fight with Joutaro and Komori after I stopped freaking out about shit. As far as ninja fight scenes go it was awesome and I hope we get to see more that kind of combat in the future. (Maybe with more kicking ass on our genin's part, but that's really on us.)

...okay, I think that's about as much sensibility as I have in me. I shall now commence freaking out about the second impeding TPK in about as many updates.

Man, hopefully we survive this. I think everyone needs a vacation at this point. Just some nice peaceful research, or at least, helping Kagome with research, and getting some Mednin levels on Noburi, and getting some Pangolin contacts... that'd be good.
Note that humans have a limited lifespan.
Not for long!

That reminds me, we need to rework our plan for talking with Jiraiya. Because this entire situation is going to get us killed if our approach to him isn't "Give him everything and beg for mercy".
