I am highly stressed.

My stomach's all in a knot.

This is just a story. This just a story. This is just a story. Just a story. Just a story.

Everything beyond Taijutsu 15e16 needs a strength and stamina boost, so this plan and two others after it are a nope.
Thanks for catching that

God damn it I knew I would miss it

Truth

"Kagome-sensei," Hazō cut in urgently. ""You know that seal we couldn't make work, the one with all the tentacles? Well, I had a thought about how we could weaponise it if we…"

Kagome-sensei groaned and let go of the wire. "You're Hazō all right. Also, never think that thought again.
Best. Teacher. Ever.

Two hostile ninja teams are converging on you from the south and the east. What do you do?
God dAMN IT WHY. My poor old ticker can't take another stress update, @Velorien :p (good job tho)

In retrospect, should have gone with water crossing and braved chakra monsters, eh?

I feel you mate, tho for me it tends to be a headache. It's okay. Grab some tea?

I have like few hours to contribute to this round. My initial thoughts:

The only escape route we have left is through the islands towards Lightning, everything else takes us through Fire and apparently that's a no-go. I didn't suggest this at first because it's a super obvious route that Lightning probably monitoring heavily, and there are no easy exits out of Lightning even if we get there.

That is assuming we can dodge our current pursuers somehow.

I could use some clarification on where we are on the map rn. Border of HS and Fire, I guess, but maybe more precise? @Velorien ? @eaglejarl ?

I think going to lightning means crashing right into pursuit.

Hmm... Depending on where we are.. Who wants to try for Rice? :D

Alright guys, time to get our collective head in the fucking game. Is there anything to do, realistically, that isn't "chakra boost and pick a direction to run in"?

Maybe throw a stupid-box behind us? Or a timed explosive (do we have those) or PMYF seal lying on the ground with no room to release its contents?

Send patrols of clones off different directions, or better yet send them the same direction as our current one and change directions ourselves?

Same, buddy. Just keep breathin.

Inoue-sensei didn't need to spell it out. Leaf had spotted them, and although they might be able to handle a weak Leaf patrol – they'd done it before, after all – if either force managed to pin them down even briefly, the other would have time to catch up, at which point they'd be caught between the hammer and the anvil.

Well, there's the one option to deal with the situation. We blitz the Leaf team, murderize it and run away even faster.

I mean, we already have few of their friends in our scrolls, might as well make some room for more, right?

To think, all of this could've been avoided if only more of y'all went along with my suggestion to get a closer look at snake church :>

@OliWhail got anymore first born to offer for the good of Hazou and friends?
Isn't there only one by definition?

Somebody write it down so we can say this word for word to J :D

Ok real talk now. I would like to blitz the Leaf Patrol and take them out ASAP, then try to re-roll TM and don't fail again. Inoue rolled over 1000 Genjutsu so she should out-Kai either patrol's Awareness, and if we stick a stupid box on them they die. Period.

This is what happens when you make deals with Jashin-sama, they get interpreted very literally. So we got out of the fight with J alive, but now we're all gonna die.

I do have siblings who will probably also have first-borns though, and worst comes to worst I am a first-born, so we can survive at most 4 more of these situations (well, 3 after this). We good.

Problem is, this depends on it being a weak patrol. How much are you willing to gamble there? Especially given current injuries?

She refused to go to the Swamp of Death or Waterfall, instead going to Iron by the shortest route that doesn't involve crossing into Rice.
Even Mari knows it's a terrible idea, guys

E: it here being Rice

Remind me: why does Mari not want to go to Sound?
Not sound officially iirc, but a few years back rice nin got surprisingly competent.

Well, their rolls aren't that impressive, just our stealth sucks and TM dice hate us.

In case we ever want to establish a ME (with Hazou or a new PC (if it comes to that)), I'm just going to respond to all of the inquiries people had had earlier as I now finally have the time to do so.

Skip this if you want to continue understandably scrambling.

Smart people are better. They required less micromanagement. They give better information.

Our ME will not run itself if you have dumb people who can't take initiative.

This is probably due to a bit of miscommunication on my part.

Smart, as in intelligent, people are useful. However, we also need people who are wise enough to know not to push their luck with us.

Honami was intelligent, yes, but she also made a foolish mistake to break a magical murder hobo's disguise. It was a clever ploy, but all she was left with was a pissed off ninja of unknown disposition or abilities sitting in front of her. If Hazou had really wanted to, he could have easily killed her instead of muffling her.

Smart fools (high intelligence, low wisdom (not in game stats since they do not directly affect a character's personality, but you get the idea)) can create havoc unintentionally by doing something that is immediately clever, but failing to account for the fallout of said action.

I'd prefer recruiting smart, wise people whose only notable character flaw is greed so that we still have some leverage over them. To have further control over their ambitions, I added in checks and limitations to prevent them from causing issues to us, but at the same time still give them enough incentive to continue working with us. Carrot and stick motivation at its core.
